Damn I couldn't be on today so I just caught up. For all the people interested in leather sheaths good for both pocket, in and outside the belt carry, stay tuned: a few samples will be delivered to TKell hq tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure Tim is soon going to make a video or a post about those. The maker is also willing to make models with integrated DCC clip, perfectly fitted for super concealed carry, pretty amazing stuff!
I would most definitely love to have veitnam/ Taiwan made tkell folder for less money as I imagine alot of folding knife ppl would . Esp knowing it would be helping you eventually get more USA stuff put out there. 1000% would buy it💯💯
Sometimes first runs have expenses that don't make sense. Importing brings products some are interested in. Extrema ratio does forprene handles. Maybe doing forprene or antimicrobial aluminum makes sense as a first production. Weather you do it in USA or not something cool might bring an investor on a limited run.
@@TkellKnives You can probably do what WE and Civivi is doing by releasing the same blades just in different material. For example, keep TKell Knives strictly US made and CW line imported elsewhere. Maybe have the folder from Vietnam under CW affordable line and in the future when you’re ready and figure everything out, the Tkell folder version in 80crv2, aeb-l or nitro v. It might be more work but it’s definitely extra income for you guys once CW affordable versions are produce that way everyone can afford it. Just my 2 cents.
Honestly, to me, that makes sense. It’s a struggle to grow the company big enough to insulate against other people pushing us out of business while keeping our roots. We would in no way ever abandoned the 100% American made and sourced T. Kell Knives brand to go chase money for low priced high margin items. But it certainly would help us to fund new projects and increase our manufacturing capability here in the states if we sourced the CW blades from non-oppressive countries that their cost of labor is lower so that we would have the margins on those blades to keep the Americans stuff, American. I don’t understand some people saying that we’d be selling out. I think if you look at the facts that we would treat it as a fundraising arm of the company without having to sell portions of the business, it makes a lot of sense. But we also don’t want to piss everybody off to the point that they abandoned us. if we can get people to make $150 investor donations without receiving a knife in exchange we’d be fine. We have to be big enough as a company to survive, keep enough and gain enough of the market share to prevent our competitors from ripping us off and putting us out of business. How we go about that is still a mystery.
I dont think true tkell fans would care that you offshored a folder project , I don't think it compromises your integrity as long as there 100% transparency. I think you'd hit a whole new market for sure.
Hahah sorry I miss the live today! Had to run some last min errands with the family. Glad that you enjoy the jerkys ! I don’t make them but my friend does. Love the crashing Cambodian festival story haha!
I would buy the working prototype. I have been interested in your fixed blades for a long time however in the state where I am stationed “California”, you have to open carry fixed blades which is just too much hassle. I would love a Tkell folder I could conceal carry.
I jumped on your site to buy a few things. Without exception, everything I looked at was out of stock and therefore not available. When will more inventory become available? What procedure would you suggest to purchase something?
Yeah my blades sell out quickly. The last drop on January first sold out super fast. The next drop of 3,000 blades will be on April 1st at noon eastern. Some models will sell out very fast so I’d be ready. I’ll be posting what models will be on the drop before tomorrow morning. Thank you very much for your interest.
I say,IF THE QUALITY is there, AND you make it clear the knife is made overseas, I don’t see a problem. I feel as if most knife affectionados care MORE about quality than necessarily where it’s made.
Maybe talk with Spartan Knives and their Ka-Bar division. Maybe they can help. Otherwise, form a joint partnership with some private investors that are silent partners, just for the cash side. I’m sure the $500,000.00 machinery that you need to buy will also be able to make other items you can sell. Possibly even make OEM knives for other USA Makers that Truly want to bring their manufacturing back to the US.
They sold out on January 1st the next Batch is releasing on April the first at noon eastern time. We announce through the newsletter when and what the drops will be
All those other companies are going to Vietnam because they did the research and know that people won’t pay for the money for a U.S. product. Tkell is in a unique market where the consumers are willing to pay a premium for 100% USA made products, and Tkell as a company is willing to make less to make that happen. Once you go to an off shore product and move out of that unique market you enter a market where you compete with Chinese made products.
@@TkellKnives I know, and I have bought into the TKell philosophy 100%. I’m just wondering what the effect would be by offering a product that deviates from that philosophy, no matter how transparent you are about it. There was already that troll on the live ya know? People can be the worst.
TKell family! God Bless. Great video awesome USA made Veteran owned and made! Awesome!
God Bless!
We would buy a working prototype to fundraise and then buy another one once it's all american. We are knife people we always need more knives.
TKell has the greatest customer service!

YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE WHERE YOU CAN ONLY WIN ONCE. Let the winners decide what to do with their wins
Hope you don’t give up on the folder. It looks amazing. 😢
It’s a great blade. It’s been tough to get to this point. I hope we can figure it out.

I would pick it up, even if it was made overseas as long as it was tested by the Tkell Family.

We are prayerful about any decisions we make. Thank you for your perspective/feedback. It’s certainly food for thought.
Just label it an “off shore” folder collaboration.
You said you like TOOR knives! Reach out to them about a colab for your folder.
