the rail or " cleat " system has been around for a long time. It's also used for bathroom sinks that have no vanity and are mounted to walls.

I ordered sektion cab for my home office in June 2022 which cost about $3k with Sinarp design and installed it myself which saved me so much money. They are very easy to install for one person. The suspension rail system is what made this very easy. I used the planner online which I sent to IKEA for someone to review and went to store to order and pay (you do have to pay first). But due to supply issues I waited 3-months for all my items to ship my home. In my IKEA at the time, as long as you ordered a Sektion item in your order they will ship a flat fee even if they have to split the orders into different shipments. Opened items have 180 days you take delivery to return, un-opened used items will be 365 return policy. You can sometimes save even more money in the AS-IS section at the store. Because I was waiting so long for my shipment, I was able to find some already assemble kitchen frames which I bought at 50% off and returned the new one when it arrived. I'm about 20 miles from ikea, the shipment fee was only $40 for everything.

I suppose if you have no experience with Ikea then you can say it takes a lot of time for assembly but with a little experience and a power drill with adjustable torque settings, assemble goes very quick. My issue with Ikea is that it is laminated press board that doesn't recover from water damage. That said a good hack is to use the Ikea carcass (cabinet frame) which are extremely inexpensive and then buy hardwood cabinet doors separately. Then you get the best of cost savings with a high quality look and feel.

That blue looks awesome, it would be a perfect pop of color in a white kitchen, and it matches your red dishes too!

To design and have the proper layout, need to know how to deal with the standard sizes IKEA has, you’re missing widths 27", 33". And limited option for 12", 21", sometimes you’ll need pretty wide fillers. For heights on uppers just 15", 20", 30" and 40", missing 18" and 24", for fillers you’ll need table saw, with special blade or circular saw, and the skills to cut them. To cut rails needs skills to manage at least a hacksaw. Looks fair but is not, as easy as assemble and install it could be complicated, needing an experienced installer that might cost at least $100/cabinet plus panelling and drawer assemble

Have been living with IKEA kitchens for 14 years in Sweden current kitchen is 9 years old.. Have Two complaints. First, the laminate cabinets around the sink have bubbled and the chipboard has "bloomed," and the hanger for the recycling bins is too heavy and pulled out. Second don't buy the wood counter tops. The IKEA wood counter tops stain too easily, have to sand them and re oil them every 4 months to keep them looking sanitary. My sink is counter sunk and does not have a built in drainboard. Again around the sink the wood turns black, and cannot have a drainboard or anything damp. Do not get the wood counter tops, my family and friends that have the wood countertops have the same problems. Before I had the cheaper laminate countertops, they were much easier to maintain.

For price comparison reasons. How many lineal feet of cabinets did you get? Count the uppers and lowers seperate.

what type of countertops did you use? Anything special/good about the interior of the cabinet spaces? did you have to reconfigure the space or only switch out countertops?

Good video Mrs. Mindy, but I have a few things I worry about when it comes to a Ikia kitchen. I worry how long the cabnets will last in wet rooms like kitchens or bathrooms. Also, I am really curious/worried that the bottom of the lower cabinets are not properly braced. If you have things that are heavy like a case of water for too long it will start to warp the bottom and fall out.

Apparently they hold up better than traditional plywood kitchens. And there's a 25 year warranty vs a 5 year limited warranty with most full hardwoods.

Those are not 15" deep, boxes (frames) outside are 14 3/4", you lose 1" at the back for rail, and cardboard back recessed, having them too close to your face, will make so easy to hit yourself with them when you’re working on the counter
