    Thanks as always for these videos. I tend to want to roam with a light spinning rod and a rigged and ready travel rod in my rucksack. This looks perfect for a bit of microbial fishing and dropshotting. Float fishing too. Lovely. Ta mate.

    This looks like a beautiful part of the Thames to fish if you grew up on small rivers.

      Hi buddy, good to hear from you again.😊
      It's definitely a nice narrow and more intimate stretch here. It had its best days in the 80s for specimen fishing though. You do here of the odd decent fish coming out nowadays, definitely worth a try..😊👍
      If you like a challenge there is a small population of decent sized Roach but it's very inconsistent..

      Thanks for the lovely comment and nice to hear from you again bud, it's a really good feeling to be able to help people out like yourself..😊
      It can take years to work out "how what where and when" to fish some of these spots so i thought I'd save everyone the bother..😉 Not been able to get out the last couple of months or so but I'm planning on doing the Tidal Stretch around Eel Pie Island as soon as possible, keep your eyes open for that and some free stretches of the Avon and Stour in the near future.
      P.s I'm always open to suggestions on other free fishing spots to film from North Oxford to the South Coast if you know of any.. Glad to help anytime, tight lines bud..🐟🎣

    The creek goes further up for about a mile to another small wier. The barble carp and bream go up there in the spawning season. Its truly dream like around May watching all the fish spawn. Some huge barbel up to 18 lb go up there to spawn. Unfortunately they leave after spawning but caught a 15lber by Sunbury wier on cigarette Island. I would actually say that is one of the best barbel swims in the country. Had 6 all around 9 to 12lb in a few hours once. This was about 15 years ago now so maybe it's changed

      Amazing info thank you for adding so much, it's a lovely area to fish.. Its heyday was in the late 80's and 90's, much harder now..😊👍

    That first swim at 6 minutes? Had my biggest ever bream there. Hadn't the means of weighing it, but it was the literal dustbin lid. 20 odd years ago so no cameras on phones. It was just a short after work session.
    24mm halibut pellet.
    Couple of days later I talking to a mate.
    'Whats her biggest bream, Jack?'
    Dunno. Never caught one big enough to weigh? 4? 4 and a half pound?'
    'Wanna double that?'
    I picked him up the following evening with a minimum of kit, 2 quivertip rods and rests, small box of terminal tackle and a seat, I had a big bucket of hemp and pellet and a bag of fishy donkey chokers...
    1/2 hour drive from South East London on a warm summer evening, quick set up, bait up and cast tight to the far bank and just a twilight turned to night, two knocks within 10 minutes, two dustbin lids on the bank 8lb 12oz and 9lbs 6oz, back in the car, Jacko dropped off and home in bed by midnight.
    A lot of time has passed since then and the old bod ain't up to sessions no more; to rod n pod n chairs n buckets o' feed - there's no need! I've invested in some light lure tackle so no need to carry much, keep mobile, keep warm in winter, stay fit...
    I look forward to sampling the Pike fayre here some time soon...

      What a lovely message, thank you so much for that..😊
      It's a lovely spot but it's heyday was in the 80s & early 90s, big Barbel Chub & Bream.
      Same here with the tackle, as little as possible nowadays..
      Tight lines to you Sir..😊👍

      What breaking stain would you recommend on my bait runner when fishing somewhere like this??

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  2 года назад +4

      I've lost a few battles on the Thames using 15lb Sub Line straight through plus using 3.5lb test curve rods. If you hook one they feel more like a Seal.. Had a few take my Bass off me in my boats before..!
      Recon any tackle set up stronger than above might help. Maybe heavy-duty Braid..?
      P.s All been caught and lost on the high oil hard fishy paste method i use around the Weight, Bait and Hair rigged 18mm Trout pellet Boilies. If not, a Hand-Granaide and long landing net will suffice.. 🤣👍

    Love your videos, your so helpful, not fishing related but the car park as Rivermead, I Noticed a slip way, could you launch an inflatable here ? It did look very shallow ?

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  2 года назад +3

      Definitely buddy, just need a little bit of rain to bring the water level up a tad on the Slip as its unusually low at the moment. I've seen small to medium sized boats go through the gap to the main river between the houses & the island plus its deep anough to Moor boats downstream on the left hand side.
      Hope this helps..😊👍
