    When I lived in Molesey as a nipper the spot where the Ember meets the Thames used to be great for catching of all fish Flounder's.

      Definitely drop shotting in the tributary, it's one of the best spots in flooded conditions, I'd be there tomorrow if i could. Especially fishing stealthy, dropping luncheon meat in amongst the tree roots that are normally part of the park in normal conditions. Out filming in my Bellyboat in the Harbour again next few days, 3c water 4c air, ouch..! Gonna be squeaking like Micky Mouse i recon.🥴😂

    Hi Mucker, these are easily to most informative videos on u tube, thank you so much for trying to help your fellow anglers. I'm probably setting myself up to get slaughtered here but i;ve tried i recon 8or 9 times at a few different spots, last season and this fishing for chubb and barbel and never had so much as a bite, i have also asked other anglers when i,ve seen them and its the same story, where have all the barbel gone ( i do normally have success at all other venues so not a complete novice ) I,ve seen a few perch come out but not anything else, any tips.
    cheers

      Hi bud thanks for the nice comment it's most appreciated..👍 Not sure if you noticed that i talk about fishing in flooded conditions, its always been the most productive time for all the bigger species on the Thames.
      My first choice with the really low water conditions at the moment has to be the Kingslawn section (the second half of Part four in my playlist. I cast straight out just short of the first line of boys, no further out co's you'll snag the ropes that link the Bouys together.. Second choice in these low conditions is Aragon Avenue or Cigarette Island (part 6 & 7 in the playlist. I normally rap a large and really sticky, very high oil Trout Pellet paste around my weight and completely cover the Boilie and Hook with a piece the size of a Walnut. "Tip" there should still be paste on the weight etc after a few hours in the water. Aragon and Cigarette Island can respond well to flicking Maggots out at regular intervals without casting for at least 2 to 4 hours using a waggler on the drop for the Chub. Just lookout for them breaking the surface, keep feeding & wait some more (patients is a virtue here) short and long hooklenghs from 3 inches to 3 metres can work in low conditions.
      Hope this helps you, let me know how you get on and Tight Lines to you buddy..!!😊 Hopefully..🎣🐟

    • @MUCKER671

      Cigarette Island at Hampton Court is a very productive spot for barbel and chub when the rivers in flood but in these low conditions I would suggest the tributary called the River Ember which intersects at Cigarette Island.
      You'll see at the end of the point there's a set of Cabbage / Lilies on the opposite side, i normally use a Pole three quarters of the way out towards the cabbages etc. Worms and Maggots for the Bream..
      I flick Maggots into the Thames to the left of you while fishing with the pole in the Ember, after a couple of hours of drip feeding the Maggots in i run a stick float down for those big fat greedy Chub.
      Parking is expensive for the Thames co's of the Train Station.
      Not sure how old you are but if you decide to go in the evenings and night-time (definitely the best time to go)
      Take a friend with you, I'm not trying to worry you but there have been the occasional reports of trouble on the bank at cigarette Ireland.. I have fish there quite a lot and have never had any problems but I thought I'd better just warn you.. Hope this helps you buddy..🐟🎣😊👍

      Thanks for the comment..😊
      It definitely looks more Amazonian than English now. lol..😁
      I've noticed lots of other spots that are much harder to access over the last few year on the Thames.
      Went to Shepperton Wier yesterday and the nice but steep cut grass banks to the right of the car park are totally overgrown and unfinishable now.
      The new Walton Bridge design has completely stopped angler's from accessing that specific area by moving the road back from the river & only Blue Badge Parking bays..
      Could go on about the residents living opposite some swims who have everything but always want more, are planting trees in accessible swims opposite there homes which blocks us out unless you're willing to do some let's say DIY gardening..
      Not sure where it'll end up in the future, real shame as that area of the Thames is spozed to be free to access for all..
      Biggest participation sport in the UK and one of the hardest to access if you're unstable or Disabled nowadays..😔👍

    What are the rules around fishing and taking your catches from here? Is there a breeding season?

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  Год назад +1

      Hi bud, it's the closed season for course fishing on all rivers in England at the moment. 16th June is when the rivers are open for fishing again. You will need to purchase a Rod Licence from the Environment Agency before you go. You are only legally allowed to take certain species from the Tidal Thames area which starts bellow Richmond Lock. It's not good to take any course fish from any rivers in the UK because the Uk is a tiny Island that has only small rivers compared to Europe. The breeding stocks are very small so it makes it impossible for the rivers to catch up. Most of are rivers are not restocked by the E.A..

      What's your opinion on places like the River Mole/Mickleham?

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  Год назад +1

      You'll need a more delicate approach on the River Mole, it's more like a smaller creek compared to the Thames.
      It used to be great for most species in the late 80s & 90s but so many fish have been taken out over the years it has never recovered. Pollution has been a major problem as well.
      I would suggest natural baits like Worms dead Maggots or any smaller high oil Trout Pellets as hookbait and feed if necessary. I very rarely loose feed on the Thames just sticky Trout Pellet Paste around the weight etc.
      Hope this helps you out and good luck with your fishing adventures buddy..
