  • Last Time We Heard PANTERA was August 26th, 2001. The band was brimming with eternal tensions and vocalist Phil Anselmo could barely function with his heroin addiction due to back pain. There comes a time when the show must come to an end. In this video we'll watch epic final performances from Pantera, Dio, Black Sabbath, The Ramones, Queen and much more muhahaha. Do you think Zakk Wylde will be able to replace Dimebag Darrell in the upcoming Pantera Tribute tour?

Started with Tony Iommi from my dad's record collection.
Then Slash when Guns n Roses broke on MTv
Then Zakk Wylde and Jerry Cantrell when No More Tears and Dirt came out. That was my first concert. Ozzy, Alice and Blind Melon.
Those were my main influences when I started out.

I saw Pantera in ‘98 at the Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK. They were an insanely powerful musical force. Just jaw dropping.
My inspiration? As a little kid, it was Rick Parafit from Status Quo. I loved how he just stood there and battered that Tele. However, it was seeing GNR’s New York Ritz show that made me actually get a guitar and commit to it. Somehow, years later at 45 years young I’m making a living as a musician. Thank you Slash, I think. (It ain’t easy!).

The person who inspired me to pick up the axe for the first time was actually a friend of mine back in high school. We became friends in freshman year and he introduced me to the world of Heavy Metal. I immediately knew I loved the music and became addicted to the culture of rock and metal. But it wasn't until I went over to his house and saw him play for the first time. He opened up his guitar case and out came a shiny, black Gibson Explorer! It was the coolest thing I'd ever seen, he plugged in and started playing Puppets, Cowboys, Trooper, Crazy Train etc...and it was mind blowing! Seeing that the music and the playing was real, made me immediately want to get my own axe and start fingering my G-String asap!
