I look forward to and always enjoy when you post a new video. Your ingenuity, imagination and craftsmanship is both outstanding and inspiring. Thank you very much.
Thanks! This one came out really nice and makes my full size sled feel like an oil tanker. Waiting for parts for the fence, plan is to build and film that over christmas.
Rudi - Aachen - Deutschland
My german is not very up to date but google translate helped me. Yes this sled is in some aspects better then my old large version (which is around 10 years old and at that time was very early with routed in clamps). Good luck with your build!
Thanks! No video of the dado jig. It has some nice features like the integrated stops but I always felt that jig has room for improvements. If I make an updated version I will make a build video of that.
Ola, why did you decide to make the clamp slots different from your large sled? The slots go through the material in the large sled, but not in the smaller sled. I am enjoying your videos very much - thank you !
Thanks! Very good question. To start with, when I built my large sled the dovetail clamps were not invented, so that one uses festool rail clamps. These clamps acts (more or less) vertical on the wood. Through tracks has some advantages, the sled can be thinner and the tracks doesn't get filled with chips and dust. But, I consider the dovetail clamps to have a better clamping interface and therefore chose these for my new sled. Only drawback is that the dovetail shape push the wood apart and using through tracks with those clamps I would be afraid the clamping force would push the base parts aside.
You're welcome! Low friction tape can be found on several online places like amazon or aliexpress. A search for "woven brown ptfe tape" should give relevant hits. I use 0.18mm thickness, width around 20mm, purchased here a.aliexpress.com/_EJyvwEp The center punchers was more difficult and I might not have the correct english word for those. I purchased mine in a swedish store mainly aimed for metal machining if that could be a lead for finding them online. shop.otdtools.se/product/centreringskornare-25-st-1-13-mm
It's beautiful 👌 But... how do you adjust the fence if it's not 100% square when it's already screwed in place with so many (machine) screws? 🤔 Maybe I need to rewatch and I missed some clever trick.
You loosen the screws, adjust the fence and then tighten the screws again🙂. All screws sits in oversized holes to allow adjustment. The magic trick is to keep the base plates from moving when you adjust the fence, I mention that at around 10.15
Valchromat is the name for it in Europe, it's classed as hdf (high density fibre board). More dense than mdf, which has a quite porous core whereas valchromat is more homogenous, stiffer and weighs a bit more. There is also through coloured mdf but that's just coloured, except from that is has the same properties as mdf.
Thanks very much great skill and talents, over your videos.
@@henrysara7716 Thanks! I appreciate your comment.
Magnificent work as always, very commendable sled design as well as video editing. Thank you for making these great videos for everyone

Thanks! Really glad to hear that.
Another one for the too build list. Looking forward to the router fence build! Excellent content as usual. Thank you.

Hatte schon geschaut, ob des die Zubehör für die Fräse so schon gibt. Ich bleibe dran, denn den möchte ich auch bauen.
Well done & that is a terrific crosscut sled! 👍👍👏👏

Yup I'll be doing this, nicely done!
Hi Ola. Looking great, very clever to use one glider and just turn the crosscut sled.
Thanks! For a "one sided" sled like this where you never push on the right hand side one slider is enough and opened up the flip opportunity.
I just came across your channel.I'm glad I did it!Great idea.Thank you for sharing
Thanks and welcome to my channel🙂
Grymt bygge som vanligt Ola!
Tack Eric!
Flipping awesome!
😁 Thanks.
Another excellent jig with unique elements. Do you have a video on your router dado jig used in this video? Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Once again very helpfull information. Thank you for the great content.
Can you give me a source for this low friction band and center punchs?
