I just bought these, & I love how simple and classy they look. It’s my third pair of Oakley RX frames, after the sportier Wiretap and Bracket 8.1 models. I also love that Tie Bar is all Titanium, with no rubber earsocks. I live in a humid country and sweat & climate caused my Wiretap’s earsocks to age fast, needing replacement every now and then. I don’t think I’d have that issue with Tie Bar, ever :)
These are the ones I have (satin black) and they’re amazing. I was initially worried they wouldn’t look good with my thicker lenses, but it turns out that the whitish tinge of the beveled lens edges yields an unexpectedly unique 2-tone contrast against the black. So they’re equal parts classy/refined and funky! I’ve received several compliments. Only downside is that my heavier lenses offset the feather weight frame.
I wish it was carbon fiber or stainless steel instead of copper but cool awesome glasses. Will be in my top 3 eyeglasses to buy in B-day in late December 2019
Hello there! The Tie Bar dropped on 2/1. Our guess is that Oakley does not yet have it on their site due to the high demand for the frame. Thanks for reaching out!
@@sportrxeyewear I currently sport the pitchman carbon. I like the square look of the frames but not the thickness and no nose pads cause it doesn't grip. Will these frames make a good sleek replacement? Btw I wear a 138 53-18 frames pitchman carbon
The Tie Bar has an all-titanium frame which make it extremely lightweight and comfortable. It sounds like the thin frame and size is exactly what you are looking for. One thing to note, the nosepads do not have grip but they are adjustable.
I was concerned that when I was sweating there was a chance it would slip. While running and sweating, there was no issues of movement or slipping of the glasses. Well done Oakley
I have Oakley Cross Step glasses. They seemed really comfortable to start with, but after about 4 hours, the parts just above my ears stated to become sore and tender. Any suggestions?
Hello! Yes, a local optician may be able to heat up the temples just enough to soften the material and readjust the pressure to alleviate the soreness around the ears. You can also give us a call to speak with a licensed optician should you have more questions! 888.831.5817
What was the one Nick wearing at 0.3/3.05 (was it black?) there are only 3 colours there. Why Tiebar 0.5 Corten looks entirely diff. Did Nick wore olive green or it was on the table! Thanks!
Hi there! Nick is rocking the satin chrome and Nick is wearing the satin corten. The satin olive is a really nice colorway and of course the satin black goes with everything! Thanks for reaching out!
Hi there! The clip should be built into the inside of the temple arm. It is easy to miss because it is super low key but we can help you find it if you contact us here: www.sportrx.com/contact
Got a pair for myself, satin black, replaced nose piece with silicone. I use on-ear and over-ear headphones for most of my day, then noticed the arms started to bubble and eventually flake on both arms temple tips exposing the titanium after 3 months, is this just a dud pair or is this common? Also noticed the nose section is quite sharp and tends to scrape your nose at times.
My glasses broke so I ordered a pair from them, paid for two day shipping, two days later they called, after I took the day off to wait for my delivery, to say they didn't actually have the frames and would have to order them. I cancelled my order and will NOT deal with them again.
Hello Rob! Since the 2/1 launch of the Tie Bar there had been very high demand for it. Unfortunately our replenishment stock had not yet arrived at the time of your order. We apologize for this inconvenience. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you out with!
Good story bro, you didn't say where you ordered them from. And who takes a day off 2 days later without a shipment notification? You're either a liar or a clown.
You took the day off??? Did you receive a notification that they in fact did ship or were you assuming it shipped? I do believe that if you pay for 2 day shipping they should have notified you right away they were out of stock. However taking a day off without a shipment notification is ill advised under any circumstance.
Oakley needs to come out with a design where the frames don’t look nerdy straight on !!!! Got the Angle and sides down but straight on Oakley prescription frames are still dorky / nerdy AF !!!
I still have the Oakley Bracket 8.1 I bought 8 years ago, still good as new all these years and just had the RX lenses on it updated with my current grade. I think the Brackets (particularly 6.1 & 8.1) are good for those who want RX frames without looking “dorky” as you’d like to put it.

I love these, definitely a contender when I finally retire my Keelblades.
Great to hear! Thanks for checking out our video!
Why isn't this out on Okaley website yet? Very interested! Is this part of the spring line up?

Is there anymore frames dropping soon that you know of?
There are other new frames on the way but we do not yet have an exact release date.

@@sportrxeyewear Thank you for your reply. Could I try doing that myself with a hairdryer (as long as I don't heat up the lenses)?

Looks like Nick is wearing satin corten. You can see more colorways here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-tie-bar.html Thanks for reaching out!
Do you ship these to Austria?
Hi! We unfortunately do not, sorry bout that!
what frame options were the two of you sporting in the video? I'm considering the satin olive or satin black

what colour was he wearing?! satin chrome? I am located in UK
Yes, looks to be satin chrome to me. Thanks for reaching out!
Are the nosepads titanium?
They are! 👍
@@sportrxeyewear is this 100% titanium? (Eg: sometimes items say pure titanium but have 7% nickel haha)
Oakley states they're 'Entirely constructed of titanium' without any mention of nickel, though we unfortunately cannot confirm 100%
what is the groove depth and width?
Hey Anthony! The groove depth is 1mm. The size 54 SFW (SportRx Frame Width) is 134mm & the size 58 SFW is 138mm.
@@sportrxeyewear ok thanks. Do you know the groove width? I have a customer edging one and having issues with the groove.
Just got mine....they didn't come with the clip to put them on your shirt. They are super comfortable tho.

@@huetuber1204 no clip on my satin chrome either

Hi there! Oakley's claim is that it's made of 100% titanium
What colour is the lighter titanium frames? Thanks
Satin Chrome

hi, what are the sizes of the video glasses that the presenters are using?
Hi Bruno! Nick is wearing the 53 eyesize and Rob is wearing the 55 eyesize. Check them out here: www.sportrx.com/oakley-tie-bar.html
You both use the word titanium a lot. Out of interest, what grade Ti alloy are they made from?

Straight on though?
Bought these frames and they chip so easily and VERY flimsy.... if they were more sturdy then I would like them.
Interesting...we have not heard of that happening to anyone before.
