the front part of the frames seem to be pretty dark for "Satin Olive" or is it the lighting and how you were holding it? Is it deceptive depending on the angle or is the front outside part darker than the interior side?
Was thinking the same thing. It looks black because of the angle and the lighting but for first few split seconds after glasses are removed from cloth pouch, you can see true olive color.
If he says it's the olive color then I'd tend to believe him but it looks very much like the satin "light steel" that I picked out at the store. The "light steel" color is just a dull, or lighter black color as opposed to a straight pitch black color gradient.
Is that frame all titanium including arms? Most frames have silicone pads for side arms but O prefer all titanium . it gonna be a durable and cohesive frame.
After 12 months, the coating on the temples began to flake. After 15 months, I just felt a “ping” and the left temple spontaneously snapped. Suspect the titanium was corroded. This model is apparently already discontinued, so to honor the warranty they’ll only let you choose from a limited selection they deem equivalent (but aren’t actually equivalent price wise). Be careful with this one.
Got a pair for myself, satin black, replaced nose piece with silicone. I use on-ear and over-ear headphones for most of my day, then noticed the arms started to bubble and eventually flake on both arms temple tips exposing the titanium after 3 months, is this just a dud pair or is this common? Also noticed the nose section is quite sharp and tends to scrape your nose at times.
How is it now? Are you still using the frames? Has it held up well? Is the coating satinblack any good? Because im thinking of getting the torque wrench and i think your problem might happen to me. I need your help and suggestions.
Took a replacement frame, the Fuller frame in Satin Black from Oakley, this one has a thicker frame and has had no problems for a year now. It has silicone covers for the arms to keep it on your head and they are replaceable, but I haven't needed to replace them yet. The Titanium frame was light, but felt like having a razer blade rest on your nose, the frame was that thin and sharp. Fuller frame has no bubbling and not cutting into your nose like the Titanium frame, with the same use case too, headphones most of the day.
@@melwillseptember752 ohh...didnt know about the razor sharp titanium frames...and is paying for the titanium frames worth it? And i don't know how long it will last. And will the paint/coating chip off the titanium frames or any discoloration? And how long do you think will these titanium frames last if handled very well? Pleasee answer my questions one by one.😅😅
If you want to tell people that your frame is Titanium, then go for the Titanium, but it feels like a gimmick to me. The frames are much thinner that a normal(not Titanium frame) making it a bit flimsy almost thought it was sheet metal, but a little stronger. The coating at the hinges tend to come off so be careful of that. When removing your glasses use both hands else the frame will twist if removing with one hand(mine twisted and the one arm was higher than the other when placing it on a table with the arms extended). I have not experienced any discoloration though, just bubbling. In the end, if you treat the Titanium frame like the most delicate piece of hardware that you will ever own and always remove it from your head with both hands, always put it back in it's case, never have any headphones on when you have the glasses on and you are OK with the frame being so thin, it is rather light which surprised me, then go for it. I think the frame could last for about 2 - 3 years if you abide by the above rules, maybe longer. Hope this helps you.
i jus picked these up in brown, i think theyre excellent. super light.

Is lighting issue I suppose and due to metallic surface and coating. I having hard time picking the colour but I am inclined towards satin olive.

Thanks for the warning. Did you claim the warranty before the 12-month mark or after 15 months once the temple snapped? Is the warranty one year?
@@AdamSmith-fe9jf After 15 mo, after the temple snapped.
Do they slip?

My friend experience the same. But on the left frame just above the nose pads.
