Nike just make the peg 38 so heavy so that when they make it back to their usual weight on the 39 they can say "it 's so much lighter now".
I Pegasus 38 Size US 10 Pegasus 39 Size US 10 ??
Ahhahahahahahahahaha.
I really like running in these shoes. I don't run in alot of nikes but these are an exception. lot of support, cushion, and feel really bouncy on road runs.
i have the peg 37 with almost 900km of use and still runs great... indestructible shoe
I had 35 as my first Peg and retired them for the 36 after ~400 running miles. I then wore the 35 for walking and their final test was when I remodeled my home and I was on my feet for hours for over 2 months. They're tattered now, but still super comfy. I'm about to retire my 36s as they're approaching 400 miles for a fresh pair of 39s. Can't wait! Peg! Back to you!
The 36 was my favorite peg and the 39 reminds me of the 36 and I absolutely love them going to buy another pair sometime
So far I have a 34, 35 and a 38. I have been loving the Pegasus series a lot. I had many different shoes but the Pegasus also managed to impress me the most. When I first tried a Pegasus in 2019 it literally changed my life. I could keep walking for days and my feet wouldnt even hurt in the slightest.
Especially my black pair of 34s have faced a lot of abuse and you can definitely tell their 3 years age but the swoosh still didnt fall off and the structure is still in perfect shape. And I have worn them basically everywhere since my job basically takes me everywhere. I usually bring these to places where most others already bring hiking boots or rubber boots. They are much more robust than you might think. The quality didnt disappoint so far.
My 35s are actually a little older but I didnt waer them as much and you really cant tell their age - which is why I decided to buy the 38s, which are white this time around. I do wear them a lot but I try to avoid making them dirty (obviously) - I even put a red OFF-WHITE "ZIP TIE" on them and it goes really well with these shoes - just make sure to attatch it in a way that it doesnt dangle so much (make your laces hold it in 3 spots for example). The only way to tell a Pegasus' age is by the wrinkles in the soles. They just accumulate over time but later versions dont wrinkle as hard as the older ones from my experince, but they definitely do. They still look amazing though. I would always recommend owning at least one pair of Pegasus' and daily drive them.
Definitely my favorite shoe.
Are these good for a 70 year old man to run on treadmill and indoor gym?
@@Man_eee As a 21 y/o i cant tell you that for sure but I'd assume it should at least make it better than with heavier/less soft/clumbsier shoes.
@@disco.jellyfish Makes sense, so these are on the soft side then That's what I'm looking for. Thanks!
@@Man_eee Very soft shoe sole and the rest feels like a reinforced sock around your foot basically. Its also very leightweight and breethable.
So they are great for running on asphalt since this is also what they are intended to be used for. You can use them off road and during wet days too - it just sometimes happen that your feet could get wet. So they shouldnt be used for hiking in the mountains but can be used. After all they are very comfortable. I like to use them for either running or as everyday shoe and I do wear my older/more worn out ones also when it gets extra dirty. I also dont mind my feet getting slightly cold so I wear them all year round. There are also even more breethable shoes where you could feel the wind. These are just isolated enough that you wont feel the wind on your feet but they will get wet if you step into a puddle, which is deeper than your sole is tall obviously.
If you just do long walkings or runs these shoes are perfect due to their leight weight and very high comfort. They also give you a feeling of a very slight speeding you up compared to shoes, which are not made for running. They are also durable enough to be worn daily for like 3 years straight after that you definitely will feel that their performance did decrease with time. But at least my first pair still didnt fall apart by now.
@@disco.jellyfish Wow thank you for this in depth description and your own review. Very helpful and well done 👏🏼 You should do sneaker reviews on RUclips. This gives me a much better idea if how they are. Curious have you ever tried the Asics Novablast 2? It's between those 2 now after looking at so many But I'm siding with the Pegasus.
To be honest the pegs were pretty good the first week. Got there for a great price but after a while it feels a like the cushioning when running isn’t there. On a long run, say a 5 or 10k, it feels like the foam isn’t really doing its job. But all in all, good price for a versatile shoe
Really great review from you both!! I thought the quote from Professor Thomas “it doesn’t get on the way of your run.” was absolute genius and spot on!
great review. i really tried holding out for these but broke down and snagged a pair of the 38s from fleetfeet in the excellent volt colorway for $72 a few weeks back. basically convinced myself that the 39s are better but not $60 better
You fucked up
Did anyone find that the toe box was quite low, I felt my toes touch the top of the shoe which I normally never felt. I ended up going half a size up, which fixed the issue
I really enjoyed the 35 and 36 , 37 and 38 didn’t fit quite right. My peg trail 4gtx are here and holy crap they are so comfortable. If the 39 is similar in feel to the trail then sign me up for some shields
I've been shopping for a daily trainer. After narrowing it down to Brooks, Hoka and Diadora (yeah, Diadora)...the Pegasus swooped in for the win. I ordered the exact color in the video. For the price point, pound for pound, it seems to be the best to me. Can't wait to put some miles on them.
How are they so far? I've never had Pegasus but always interested. Are they "squishy" or more firm?
@Man_eee they are firm but not hard. Definitely not as "squishy" as the other three though. I would say two things sway me to the Pegasus: 1. the price point is much better than the other three (plenty of sales), and 2. if you want a verstile trainer that can go from road to the gym, I would go with the Pegasus.
@@imQurnot Great description of the shoe. So they are supportive with a hint of Plush. Sounds like a good overall shoe being versatile, I'm looking at the Pegasus 39 or Asics Novablast 2 But I see It all depends on what one is looking for & what they want them for. I recently bought the New Balance 1080v11 I like them But I am not sure if I want to keep them & that's why I'm looking at others. I like the sound of the Pegasus 39, Thanks for your detailed reply 👍🏼
I loved the Pegasus 37, Did not really like the 38 much at all, but I've grown to tolerate them without too many issues. The bottoms are starting to peel off, so I'm looking at the 39s
I had a good run in the Peg 39, but--for me--the toe box is a little loose. It's not as snug in the toe box as my other running shoes as I prefer, but I'll keep running in it as a daily trainer.
Tried on two diff colorways on the Peg 39, both had the Nike decal fall off after 2-3 wk use. Build quality questionable.
omg i’ve been wanting these shoes!!
When Thomas said “you have been working here…” it never occurred to me these two “work”. Outside of videos what do they do? Rockets, medicine, construction, fast food ?
We are a full fledged run media company.
This is what we do. And it's fun, but people don't realize how much work is involved with keeping up a website, Instagram, two podcasts, RUclips, email, designing creative content, responding to comments, answering emails, drafting proposals. And that's why few people do it.
@@Believeintherun living the dream!
Ooooo love this new setup, guys 👏
Thanks Rachael!
Love the Peg so much, they’ll probably bury me in the Peg 70 or thereabouts 😄
🤣🤣
I love the Pegasus 39. For both running and daily use.
Is it good for treadmill use and indoor gym?
@Man_eee I've just bought them for that.going gym tomorrow so will see how they go
Peak Nike design was the Epic React for sure. Still my favorite daily trainer for both function and looks
Sad they discontinued their Epic React Flyknit! Such a great daily trainer shoe…
I agree! Still running in some I picked up from the outlet store. Also loved the Pegasus Turbo.
@@stevenhydesmith Same here. I have a brand new pair ready to go. The Peg Turbo was great, too. I'm honestly not sure why they've discontinued such successful models.
I came here because Nike peg 39. I bought this but there is no data in youtube in korea now. You describe very well. So I want to buy one more shoes…!!! Thank yoy😊😊😊
Does it run true to size
For the pegasus lineup its always like this. They fuck up the prev version then said they improve on the next version
Great review! I'm so happy the fly wires are back.
At 7:27 I thought Robbe said an explicit word instead of 'outsole' ;) Good one as always!
I love your reviews. Definitely going to get this shoe. My Peg 37 have been through a lot, time for a new one. I might even try and do a race in them probably the Jakarta Half Marathon.
Trying to decide between this and the Saucony Ride 15 🤷🏼♀️
Must be a Sara(h) thing because I'm in the same predicament, ha. I've never ran in either brand before but ready to try a new brand and these two are what I'm considering but want to pick one.
Hi believe in the run and all the runners. !!!Good review guys!!!. Here is my like. I had pegasus 36 and the pegasus turbo 2. A nice day for everyone. ☀️🏃♂️🌞
Harsh is a good word. At 6'6" 195 that's exactly what it was for me.
Get smaller
@@Believeintherun the benefits of being tall far outweigh the cost of an occasional shoe not working for me 😜
Thanks for this great review guys! I’ve been waiting to hear more about the 39s as I prepare to start my Fall Marathon training. Been doing loads of running in pegs for a while and they’ve all been great overall. The 38s don’t upset me either but now I’ve got to think, and I ask your expert opinions: Is the 39 good for marathon training AND race day? I’m a 4:30ish hr marathoner (as on my one and only marathon in 2020), so I’m very torn about what shoes to use for long runs and race day that will help me survive the 4+ hrs on my feet, but that won’t kill my chances of giving some speedier paces a chance (I hold hopes that I’ll surprise myself on race day without overdoing it)
Priorities are budget, durability, comfort, bounciness. Again, thanks for the great review and your thoughts are very much welcomed 🤙🏽
Just a random person chiming in here but if you have never tried a pair of Saucony Endorphin Speed 2's that's a shoe worth checking out in my opinion based on everything you mentioned.
@@bobkhan1809 Speed2 has more stack, more pop, I just did half marathon in it. Have run 23 marathons in flatter shoes back in day and always felt the heat and pounding of the road at end. Wish we had a bit more cushion and pop when I ran them. So another random person-but try out something more for the marathon and save your legs and feet. I saw a lot out there in the marathon wearing Speeds. Peg could be a great short distance trainer for marathon training imho.
So the big question. This, Cumulus 24 or the Ride 15. I am loving the 15's.
Is the shoe easy to clean or impossible like the boost in adidas?
For some reason the hoka Mach 5 does not feel good for me. Knees always hurt after wearing them
Hello
Started Using Pegasus 39 last week..did five runs..each around 7km...
I am getting more pain at the top of my foot (where I tighten my laces) when I use a runner's knot to tie my laces.
Is there a solution for this?
I’m a us13.5 in a perfect world or a us13 in the 1080v12 how would a 13 fit in the Pegasus in comparison
What’s the green and orange shoe on the lower right shelf?
I believe that is Nike Zoom Fly 4, if I'm not mistaken
@@mustaqimbasaruddin4686 thank you!
Question so i do MMA and im looking for a shoe to run in for sprints would this shoe be good for this ?
From the 37 onwards this did not work for me
Curious to hear how it compares to the Nimbus 24?
I just picked up a pair for under $70 on the Nike store. I needed a new gym shoe for the treadmill hopefully I like it when it gets here.
So do you like the shoes ?
I feel like they dont really start going crazy with the colorways until about mid-cycle, the launch colors are always super basic. Having said that, I'm all over that bright red one!
You can customize however you want but yeah true ig
the pegasus 36 is still the one in my rotation. haven't felt compelled to upgrade yet, and i'm likely sitting out this time around too. the 36's have held up well and the designs have been very meh imo.
It”s my favorite shoe.. have the 35s-38s
Wonderful and informative review. While it sounds promising I will most likely skip this version of Peg although they will always hold a soft spot in my heart.
Description price is wrong. It’s $130 not $160
Ah, thanks for that. Fixed!
How long did it take to break the Pegasus 39s in?
No time at all
What do you mean by daily trainer? Gym or running?
Running
When's that Peg Trail 4 review coming?
Hi, amazing review, i bought it because of it ! Can you just tell me how many time i can keep this shoes ? Im doing 7km per day every day. Ty !
If you guy by their statistic of 400 miles. 400 miles = 640km
640km/7km = 91.42 days (assuming 7km every day)
Obviously that depends on foot strike pattern and body mass, but that is around what you should expect to be fine with. They may last much longer if kept well
Will you guys have a full review for the ride 15?
Already have
@@Believeintherun I meant a video! But love the written one 🔥
Love your red hot chilli pepper shirt :)
I miss the Turbo 2s
Can you do Pegus 39 VS gel Cumulus 24
Love to see Nike offer us the option to spec ZOOM X foam for the Peg 38 instead of REACT. I mean why not? The exct same shoe in everyother way. Use the same molds for the midsole foam, slap on a ZOOM X logo.... Have a "ZOOM X Air zOOM Peg 39" :)
Without a carbon plate it'd be super unstable, that's why the Invincible has such a wide base. Maybe a ZoomX core or something, but full Zoom wouldn't work unless it's a low stack and then you just have the Streakfly
How weight ?
I bought the Peg 39 when it was available here in Germany. A white and a black pair, the same day, the same shop and (of course) the same size (US 11,5). Stepped in the white one and it was perfect then tried the black and it was so narrow that I could barely get into it… untied the laces completely retied them and it was no difference. Put the white to my right foot and the black to my left and asked my wife how she liked my new shoes and said they are the same just a different color and she replied: no these are obviously not the same the black is much narrower.
I am sure that I don’t got a female shoe, because there is no womens size 11,5 (at least in Germany) and a 2e wasn’t available at this time, so what could this be??? A production problem? Lengthwise they are exactly the same but the width couldn’t be more different. So I returned the black and stayed with the white.
Anybody with the same Problem here?
Are they water resistant ?
The ‘ Shield ‘ version is
extra wide👣 NEGATIVE 10 drop (& DON'T forget your "waffle gel" heal cups)
what the best way to prevent popping the air pocket?
You got a instant like and subscribe with the Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt and references I have the same shirt
Still 10 mm drop?
Yes
Nice.
Just got a pair of these for $30
For $78 on EastBay, it was a no 🧠-er
38>
The peg 39 is a Nah for me. Experience heel slippage even at true to size. Sizing down will be too snug for me. the design is boring
personally feel like my forefoot is hanging over the midsole medially… anyone else get this?
Am I the only one who sees Pegs and has visions of HS cross country kids tearing up the grass and mud in Pegs? Then looking chill hanging out with friends in same shoes?😊
Can a HEAVY weight female wear the Peg39?D
No the cushion will pop
Kinda boring for ranked top of the page
damn why he gotta expose his age like that
Narrow sucks
Lot of waffle
most uncomfortable athletes shoe ever worn
The design for the upper is really ugly. Maybe some other colorways will look better, but that is ugliest Pegasus in years
Robbe agrees!
Do they really know the shoe? They are like drunk guys reading a teleprompter. I don't think they reviewed the shoe enough or tried the shoe enough, they are stating the obvious reading the specs of the shoe that anyone can see on the nike website.
Such a bad and slow review ….boring
Nah, still not buying slave labour shoes.
I’ll take many shoes over this overrated Nike
