    Fantastic design. Just what I’m looking for. Simple but effective. Made of simple items that many people might have.

    I built this today to capture some agoutis that were destroying my pumpkin crop. Caught the first one in less than 30 mins. Great design, works like a charm

      That is so cool! I caught 3 skunks at the same time. A mother and 2 little cute babies. I never kill the little buggers. I just drive them around the mountain a let them go. God Bless!!!

    The hinged lid is a brilliant idea. I've seen them made as a wooden box with wire mesh back end and slate door.

    I like the simplicity of your trap. I understand it was made with materials you had on hand, but with that being said, I would recommend making it out of composite Azek to withstand the weather👍🏼

      Yes. I ended up having to paint it which I suppose would be a deterrent for a critter with a discriminating sense of smell. Thanks!!!

    Nice trap! 👍
    But, are you sure it was a skunk that you relocated, and not the neighbors cat...? 🤔 😅😂

    what size was the hole that was cut in the front?

    • @garymcgill7762
      @garymcgill7762  6 лет назад +2

      The diameter of the entry hole is 6 inches. You could make it a bit bigger if you want to trap raccoons. I was basically looking for a way to trap and re-home skunks.

    How about some dimensions

    • @garymcgill7762
      @garymcgill7762  4 месяца назад

      Just use what you have. Big enough for a skunk to get into. I would say without measuring it 10x10x24

    Unless one intends to cause pain in the car the sliding door can have a stopper an inch from the bottom, so the cats tail doesn't get slammed or broken. They wouldn't be able to open it, and if they could, then I guess they get another chance.

      Interesting thought. My beagle stuck his head in it once. He never tried it again... LOL Thanks!!!
