Hey Tommy, thanks for the inspiration. I've got a big bastard of a porcupine that's chewing the plywood on my sheds. I'm going to use your design to help re-locate him. Thanks from Canada!
watching this video is making me miss the home i had in the south. I miss the people and they way of life. it was simpler and slower. the kind to make a person slow down and saver the little thing God blesses us with.
I'm gonna have to build me one of these Tommy. I stumbled upon your video searching for how to properly set the traps on those commercial made wire live traps, but I think I like your idea better. We had a cat killed by what we're thinking is either a mountain lion or bobcat based on claw marks I found in a tree and blood on a branch, but I guess it could be a racoon too. It's good to see your still up to something and hope all is well with you and loved ones.
Nice trap! I live in Ecuador, and the possums get up in my papaya tree and eat them all!! You might have given me the answer to my papaya problem. Thanks!
Great video. Thanks! I've had a huge raccoon taking up residence in my backyard at night lately, he keeps attacking my cat, think I'll try building one of these, and hope I don't just catch my cat.
Well, the advantage of this type of trap, whether it's home made or commercially built, is that the animal is not harmed. So if you catch your cat you can just let it out.
I made on according to the Trap you made in this video. I am after a skunk or two. I placed solid plywood on the sides so it doesn't see me approaching. Gonna throw a long blanket over it if i get one. thanks a bunch for posting this video.
Thanks for the tips. I had two cats left off close by that had a litter of kittens, we caught three, then trapped the parents. The male cat was totally wild, it kept fighting with my cats, and that is why I trapped them. But I had to get one from the humane society then take the cats back to them. They didn't take the male out of his cage, and I'm not sure what they done with him other then extermination. Now I know how to make one.
@@TommyCreech that’s amazing. Sorry it took me so to see your reply . I’ve been working on one that looks quite like yours . I love the trigger system .
Mines got plywood & a handle on top to relocate. I've had to practically to turn the cage up side down & shake the heck outta it to get em to come out. Sometimes their docile as can be, others their mean as hell. PS > People that throw scraps & leftovers in the ally thinking their helping a cat or something Suck!
@ 1:19 you see the set trigger, it's just a curve in the wire that the bait is hanging on, when the bait is moved the curve in the wire is pulled away and the door falls. simple,,,,
MN Possums aren't that docile. One night I was drunk (no surprise) went to take a leak on the side of my parents' house and here comes a possum - I swear to God it was a 50 pounder- it trips the motion activate light in the back yard, so I can finally see it coming for me, I run like a little b***h with my bird hangin out to the amusement of my friends in the front yard. I start tossing beer cans at it, it keeps coming, my friend and I run across the street, it keeps running til a car ends it.

Nice of you to let it go. I have seen lots of possums, just don't mess with them and they don't mess with me. Scares the hell out of my wife though.

I do!
FunTrails
FunTrails I am dealing with the same thing right now. Did you end up trapping it?

FunTrails Better hope the possum and your cat don’t get trapped together! Anything’s possible.
