Are you doing it for the right reasons? Are you ready to embrace a new culture and truly let go, or could you be bringing the very things you’re running from? Watch now to find out!

I actually like when people talk bad about Mexico so those kind people never go there;)
Mexico is the best in the west!
Viva Mexico!
Very true, the secret is worth keeping. But the people here are just so wonderful. People who talk down upon Mexico have never really talked to a Mexican. That is the only explanation I can come up with.

Moved to Mexico twelve years ago and got married to a Latina. The Mexican people are the greatest in the World. Viva Mexico. We live on our pensions and social security in Queretaro
So happy to learn you are loving QRO. I have my research time there and already found a language school in the neighborhood. YAAY! I love good news about Mexico and QRO specifically. Thank you.
We love Queretaro and can't wait to get back next month.
We will have to hook up when we get to Queretaro next month Paco. We will be there for a 6 month break from our travels around Mexico. The Mexican people truly are what makes this country so wonderful. They are so warm and gracious. We love them.
Why why why do the Latinos think Trump is great???!! I am a nurse and love the Latinos but I’m so confused and disappointed they voted for someone who will treat them so horribly. 😢

Glad we started planning a while ago, actually about the time you started your first videos! We'll be renewing residency in the spring and then just a little longer before we finish working & move down permanently. Thanks for all you do, it has helped us with planning.
So glad that we were able to help Mary. It is really so much better of a life down here. We smile and hear laughter in the streets. Things that we had almost forgotten how to do when we were on the other side of the border.
The Mexican progressive left is not the same as American liberal progressivism. The progressive left in Mexico is more focused on the conquest of social rights and the creation of a welfare state, while the Mexican right is more inclined to neoliberalism and pro-corporation, something that Mexico was subjected to for more than 30 years. It doesn’t matter if you vote for the right or left, Mexico is a family oriented country; despite Mexico is catholic country, is a secular state, there is freedom of worship and individual freedoms, the latter means that it guarantees sexual diversity rights, but is not like in the U.S with the woke movement or promoting from the government gender ideology. Currently Mexico is still governed by a leftist government that is from the same political party of former President López Obrador.
Thank you Gabriel. That was a great explanation of both government here and the differences from the US. We appreciate it a lot as it better frames what the government here is like.
Well said amigo !!!
Yes, the wokes aren't leftist, those are neoliberals. They aren't for the people but for the corporations
Gracias Dios.
You said it all. . .👍

If we’d all just turn off the tv and go outside and chat with some neighbors, we would likely find out we have much more in common than we knew.
So very true Papaw. And if the idiots in Congress would take their jobs seriously and lead, then the citizens would be more amenable to follow. There are areas that are easily fixed if not for the desire to use them to constantly campaign on them. The losers are the citizens that don't get what is needed. So glad that we are down here away from the madness.

So very true Lora. As we like to say, we are guests here in this wonderful country so act accordingly.
Welcome to Mexico 🇲🇽 friends, I love to see that we have more things in common than differences, totally agree with her: I hate big media , all of them, their only goal is just to make us all feel miserable. Here in Mexico we also have big media companies doing the same, but fortunately there is also a huge offer of citizen media via RUclips and state channels, with huge ratings! I feel so glad of this change in favor of the people in my country, and I am happy to share it with our neighbors and visitors. Welcome. Edit: ahh and I love your Caifanes shirt!!
Thank you! People do have more things in common than they realize. Most of us want to have a happy life and a secure one. Media thinks that huge ratings, based on untruths and sensationalism, is the way to the top. As do some RUclipsrs. The truth is that Mexico, like any other country in the world, has some places that are not safe to be in. But unlike most countries in the world, the people here are so warm and gracious. Thank you for sharing this wonderful country and the phenomenal people who call it home. And she loves her Caifones shirt too.

Wow, thanks for sharing this. I have so may thoughts about this but the more I think about it the least I am able to articulate it.
But I am glad to hear that as always, the extreme circumstances portrayed in the media and social media are not the reality of regular, down to earth people.
I happen to have a friend from Spain, which is a country that leans very far left. Sometimes I see videos in which it seems the situation over there is dire. But talking to that friend, he tells me that it's the same for them, people go about their business, they work and they have fun, they vote and then they get back to their lives.
The same could be said for the US if everyone tuned out the medias. Yes, medias, both social and main stream. If they talked to each other and listened to the responses, they would find that there is so much that they share. But alas, it is now easier to pull back into our collective shells and just avoid any contact with others. It is a road that leads to bad things. It is so different down here, they voted and then were back to their everyday lives as you stated. It is so nice and so warm in all of our interactions with the wonderful people here. Glad that you liked it.
You guys are so right and to leave your ways behind and embrace the culture in Mexico, 100% correct

I couldn’t agree more. I just did a video about this topic of not bringing your baggage when you move. Subscribed!
Thanks. Those are problems for that side of the border. Enjoy the lifestyle down here away from all that nonsense. Welcome to the GringosRus family!
It’s so refreshing to hear reasonable, centered, smart, objective and educated people talking about how divided society is becoming in the US, but I would say that’s becoming a worldwide phenomenon, while in México it’s still not as bad, sadly, I do see that polarization has been increasing in the latest years. I believe in great part it’s due to social media, that has become a circus act fight to get the attention of each time more short spanned audiences.
Oh, social media and the internet have changed everything. Some of it is good, but the downside is very dangerous. The instantaneous nature of news cycle that was available here on the web has lead to the key factor became speed over accuracy. Then social media make it so easy to troll others and incite anger over things that would never have been stated in person. I agree that it is a universal issue, but here in Mexico it feels like it is a few decades behind where it is on the other side of the border. And at my age, a few more decades is all I need. LOL, I know, it is a selfish way to look at it, but all we can do is be kind to others and hope that it is contagious. Thanks.
Agree on everything. Welcome to our beautiful country 🇲🇽

In 1829 Mexico had its first black president. Vicente Guerrero was the first black president in north America, he played a key role in abolishing slavery. Today Mexico has its first female president. In spite of all this there are those who call us a " third world country". Maybe we should ask ourselves who the real third world countries are.
The people who think that Mexico is a third world country are just proving that they don't know Mexico. Once you truly experience what Mexico has to offer, it is impossible to not fall in love with it.

Sounds like a great opportunity if you don't have a lot of family , relations , etc. in your home country. For those who can do it, it sends great. What kind of $$ / monthly does it take to live comfortably in Mexico?
@Jim-n5y It really depends on too many factors to say. Some people can live here on $1000/month or less VERY comfortably. Others live in places where it can cost more than $5000/month. Mexican minimum wage is less than 300 pesos or $15 PER DAY. That is only $450 a month. There is a video of citizens being asked in the streets of a large city in Mexico what they thought would be a really good monthly income: $700 a month. I think that video was on La Karencita's channel.
Vengan buen abrigados, porque aquí no usamos calefacción 😊😊😊
That is called gentrification and it is extremely harmful for the local residents since housing prices will increase dramatically, many local residents are not able to even afford an apartment because of that, also if you’re going to do that, at least when you go have all your earnings available for fiscal authorities so they can be taxed, or directly work in a local company so you’re “contributing” to the country, many of you complain (USA and Canada) about immigrants not contributing to your countries but that is exactly what you do when you take advantage of “cheaper countries” so you can take over the housing market, I find it extremely nasty when some of you start renting those properties overpriced when you’re not even citizens or directly don’t live in those countries (I’m colombian and something similar is happening with many Americans coming here only to benefit themselves and take advantage of the currency) fiscal authorities should start regulating you immediately !

In two years now, we have only felt better and better about our decision. The people here make it so easy to go back in time and care about others and smile and laugh. Such a welcomed change. Thanks
You’re welcome to Mexico , I wish I can do that but. It is hard to make the hard decision!!
I totally get that Rene. It is a terrifying decision to do. Changing your entire way of life and hoping that it turns out the way that you envision it. We definitely had some WTF are we doing moments, but the longer that we are here, the better it gets.
Alllll that... So glad to be in Mexico 🇲🇽
So true.

Love your Caifanes t-shirt ❤
Thanks Evelyn, we really enjoyed the concert in Oaxaca. They rock!
Your preparation videos are great and helped us tremendously!!!
Aww, thanks Annyvette.
Being in the middle is a very hard place to be in the US. Lack of respect and anger from both sides.
We're very much looking forward to the "😌" feeling in 2029. And hoping we can make it to then.
Saludos 👋 guys from today in Guadalajara. Getting my wife a Visa so she can cross with me when I go to the U.S. every now and then. I too got rid of my FB, Instagram and tik-tok. All that negativity was getting to me.
Great advice! I love Mexico
There is no middle when dealing with racists and misogyny.
Thanks for watching.
So do we Laura.
Excellent description of the current state of the US💯👏🏻
Thanks. It was driving us nuts. Since we have been in Mexico, our stress level has gone down so much and we are much happier being around people who enjoy life.
I really agree with this video. Well said. We are Canadian but still watched the election with absolute utter disbelief. We have never seen an election like this before. People seem to be changing. Agree with leaving politics at the border. The Mexican people are awesome. The people were the primary reason we moved here. Very well said.
Thanks Suzanne. The people make it so easy to just forget about what is happening in the rest of the world.
Thank you for speaking highly about our people!. Enjoy Mexico amigos!!!❤️
It was only fair after the way that the wonderful people here in Mexico have opened there arms and welcomed us so warmly into their home. Just a small return on the love that they have shown.
Han oído la frase : "Al lugar que fueres has lo que vieres"....que quiere decir algo así como "Al lugar que vayas, has lo que los demás hacen"...intégrate, pregunta, no hagas caras, muestra interés, etc....
And enjoy to the fullest!
So very true!
Absolutely. The more we embrace the culture, the more we get out of this wonderful country. The people of Mexico are so warm and accepting and all it takes is genuine interest and you have friends for life.
Remember the classic quote: "When in Rome do as the Romans do."
Lived in the US for a couple of decades, came down to Mexico never left.
Can't blame you in the least. We don't plan on leaving either. Why would you want to?
Your caifanes tee rocks! Saludos de Queretaro.
Thank you, we loved the concert that we went to in Oaxaca. They were a fabulous band and the whole experience was something to see. The people were so into the music. We loved it. Can't wait to return to Queretaro next month.
Mucha felicidad !!!!❤️ mis mejores deseos mis hermanos😀👏👍🙏😀❤️
Gracias Juan.
Lol. Your thumbnail image is funny. 😂
We were trying to capture that essence. LOL
Very good points and perspective. Thank you!!
Thank you very much. Glad that you enjoyed it.
You two are lucky when you got out when you did. You need a moral compass of gold and the optimism for a better life to match in order to feel good about the future of America. It’s always darkest before the dawn 🤞
We feel the same way. So glad that we were able to watch this election with a detached feeling instead of dread. This was the best move that we ever made.
I am from Mexico but lived in Texas for over 43 years. I one day hope Mexico would get to the point that i would come back and be happy to do so. I really think is getting close.
This country is a mess. Don't blame you for leaving
We are truly happier here, Lisa. A weight was lifted off of us right after we arrived. We don't look back or regret that decision. We also don't watch the news...well, we have a vSeeBox now, so "some" of the news is trickling back, but for the most part, we just don't let it enter our lives any longer. ~Gina
Congrats just adapt the best you can and always remember that you’re not entitled to people changing for you. Love the country and people and you’ll be good trust me
Absolutely no reason to change the wonderful people down here. We would all do better to emulate them and the joy that they have in their lives.
I can completely can relate with everything you shared!! I’d like to retire in Mexico too but I’ve got many years to come!
Hold out hope Christian. Hopefully it will turn out that you can come down here. Thanks for watching.
so true, leave it at the border, embrace Mexico like you have been adopted by it
They are great here and the people here really do make it easier to adapt to their wonderful way of life. Plus, dumping that at the border made us feel so much better.
Mexico is awesome 😊
Thoroughly agree Fernando. Thanks
Yes poor nations dont hve a whole lot around them but there content with little around them❤😊
And they exhibit such joy in their lives. Just another of the many reasons that we love it here. Thanks Jose
Thank you both! It’s great to get another perspective on life over the border. I’m not sure if you’ve made videos on the pros and cons of living in Mexico? But I imagine that the dollar still goes much further there than in the US. Could you share more on this topic? On how daily life has changed from simple grocery shopping to more substancial investments such as vehicle, home purchase? Thank you again.
Thank you Vladamir. We have done an entire series of videos on our life here in Mexico. We have spent the last two years in 15 different cities looking for where we are going to eventually call home. We have two years to go. Gina just got back from the US and is going to be doing a video on what she experienced there after 2 years down here. You are right, the dollar stretches further, but even if it was equal, we would be down here for the pleasant people and the lack of stress that we felt on the other side of the border.
@@GringosRUs Mark, Thank you. These videos if anything tells us a reality. Many are in discontent over the US vs. other counties standard of living. I for one have seen this play out where the average consumer in the US including myself keep telling ourselves why do I or we have to pay 2 to 3 times more for everything. Latest is in a car purchase. In regards to an Ev car in the US costing me $70K vs. same or better Ev abroad for $30K or less and it’s this simple economics fact that is driving me to look at your option. Well also now as you mentioned the toxic media and infighting of friends, family, etc…I would be very interested to hear of Gina’s experience back in the US after being away for some time. Best Regards, Vlad
@@vladimiribanez2772 Thanks Vlad. There are some things here in Mexico that are more expensive, but on a whole our dollar goes further and more importantly, our quality of life has gone way up. We are healthier, happier and more content than we have been in decades. With the right frame of mind, one can come here and partake of the wonderful Mexican culture. The beautiful people here are welcoming and all they ask is that you attempt to assimilate and you will receive so much help that it blows the mind. We have had life altering experiences here, all positive, that have lead to friendships that will last a lifetime. That is what makes it all worthwhile for us.
Great Video
Thanks Steven.
great massage guys! thanks
Thanks Frank. Glad that you enjoyed it.
On November 4, 2019, nine people, including three women and six children, were killed in a mass shooting on a convoy of three cars traveling to a wedding in Mexico.
What a tragedy.
@@marcionero7412 what area? Mexico is quite large.
People say in México as if México was composed only of one State. México has 31 States and a federal entity. So no, México is not one State. 😁😀
If you are going to go there just realize that from January until today (Nov 29) this year there has been 470 mass shootings in the US, with 72 of those just in June. Another not so fun fact- As of October 15 there has been 58 school shootings in the US so far just this year. There was 500 mass shootings in the US in 2023....
Some one remember the massacre in las Vegas or the school shooting or the church shootings 🤔
You guys are not the only ones, the rent and other services are geting high and makeing thing tuff for peolpe to have a desent life in the US
And there is no real end in sight, unfortunately. Until Washington DC, specifically congress, gets their act together and does their job, nothing will change. They only worry about two things there, power and getting reelected to maintain said power. Helping the people that elected them? Nah, not my job. All of them should go and a hard term limits bill should be put in place to keep all of these people from serving for 30, 40 or 50 years getting rich off of us.
We knew in 2016 we were leaving the U.S.
We just had to get our ducks in a row. Pay off our debts. House, car and credit cards and get out. It took us 2 years.
I don’t agree with you though that it’s both sides being angry.
Only one side is angry and hateful. Even after they won.
We settled in an expat community that as it turns out there are very little of the angry people here.
The one problem, that lastest for a few months, was a small group of these angry voters that couldn’t go two seconds without bringing up their dear racist leader.
They had to get a sit down with the group to tell them that no politics will be spoken when we’re together or they won’t be welcome.
I dont agree with being “in the middle”. I’m registered as an independent, but I will not associate with people that discriminate against women and minorities. I will not associate with these kind of people.
Whether they are acquaintances, friends, or family.
I do agree with you wholeheartedly though, that other than someone asking me who I voted for-- I’m more than glad to answer them, but, then I turn the conversation to other things, like tequila and tacos. lol.
We have gotten a lot of response on this video and we have had angry people from both sides comment. And we won't even mention the ones that RUclips blocked as being unfit for publication. LOL A lot of people are just tired on both sides of being told that they are wrong. Everybody has a different journey in life and it takes them to the place that they are in when they pull the lever for the candidate of their choosing. Everyone has the right to do what they think is right and we believe, whole heartedly, that each one of them is doing what they feel is correct. That being said, there is vitriol coming from both sides of the aisle and it is only harming the US. We need strong leaders in Congress to do their job and stop posturing for the cameras. There is so much common ground between the American people that if they, Congress, would do their job, it would help to bridge the divide and show a way towards a better future. Unfortunately, both parties, in my opinion, refuse to act on what the people want as they want these issues to campaign on in the next election. Term limits are so overdue and it is also a common ground issue that the vast majority of Americans agree on.
And hey, Tacos and tequila? All day long. Thanks
Im glad ypu found good .nice place im mexico and you are happy there.god bless you..
Thanks. It is great here and we have found the people to be fantastic in all 15 cities that we have visited. It is going to be hard to make a decision in picking where to live.
Smart choice. Mexico is amazing
It truly is. So glad that we made the move.
How wonderful that you two got out of that chaotic environment. I'm mexican, and it makes me so happy to hear that once you go to México, you see that not everyone is a criminal. We are hard-working people, and we welcome everyone, so long as our traditions and customs are respected, you don't need to participate, just respect. I'm planning my retirement in my Lovely México, after 30+ years in Canada. I won't be able to afford rent with the Canadian Pension and old age pension, but in México i will be able because at the very least i have purchased some land there. That's a huge advantage. We can grow food and live a very simple life.
Congratulations to both of you.
I'm your new subscriber, as of today. ❤
Peace to all!
Yes Lina, Mexico will bring the joy back to your life. It has changed us a lot and all for the better. It was definitely the best move that we ever made.
We are hoping to check it out.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your life in Mexico.
Thank you Robert. We plan on doing just that.
Another video with great tips and advice! So happy you get to enjoy one of my favorite places... Puebla always gets me a little excited just with the Volcano nearby... Atlixco, Cholula, and some smaller pueblos nearby So much to see and do and as many cool things there are to purchase, I am getting much better at "window-shopping" when I am there and just enjoying the ART by looking at it. A few places put on the pressure when the see my light complexion and hair, but mostly they are respectful and inviting. How long will you be this area?
We are here for 4 weeks Diana. So far we have loved what we have seen of Puebla. Reminds us a lot of San Luis Potosi and all of you know how we feel about SLP! LOL
Tx raised, and proud MEXICAN...thank you 👌, and SALUDOS from TAMAULIPAS, REYNOSA
