I'm just imagining this as like... A TV crew in a war zone. That rambling, improv theme with the going from place to place as coincidence demands it. That's just how I see it, great video as always comrade!
it is arguable that the Emperor is a warp god but as he would be the Warp God of Order and "the Anathema" to the chaos gods. It would be more accurate to compare him to the likes of the eldar gods such as Khaine or Cegorach than the gods of chaos.
The Outspoken Scotsman agreed, everyone has their own opinions on the matter and it is probably more like that than a chaos God. Just the version I like to entertain!
Chaos is the true nature of all things, look at Malal, or as it's more commonly called Malice. Order is for the most part imposed. Let's not forget that Emps is the sum total of thousands of humanities first psykers or 'shamans' combining their souls to make him. It would be that since most of him is floating around in the warp, Saint's are actually the Emperor imbuing people with his power since he can do nothing physically. I was going to say possessing people- but that doesn't actually fit the description of them. Reincarnation is something the Emperor would know about, given his origins however.
The Living Saints are chosen by the Emperor, the average Saint is just some martyr, like a particularly famous guardsman, a missionary, or a priest or something. The Living Saints are venerated to a much greater extent due to their resurrection by the Emperor.
with the 13th black crusade pressing the imperium and the looming fall of cadia (unless white dwarf coverage of the lore gets retconed) i recon we will see the living saints return and in greater powers and numbers
One thing I hate about WH40k is how it rips off other stories (or events regarding historical figures) in such a literal way. Macharius is based on Alexander who may have been poisoned by his followers tired of his constant campaigns and his generals carved the lands he had conquered.
Thing is... if The Emperor were a warp God as it would seem him to be... then he would have to be dead... Which according to fluff... is NOT the case. He is only "mostly dead". I think these imperial warp manifestations are products of "faith" brought on by belief alone; independent of the Emperor. For example, we see how the warp works for the Orcs; their faith in their own ability is what drives their more elaborate tech.
yeah but orks all share a psychic link that bends the laws of reality human lack that link i think that the emperor could have a hand in it due to his immense psychic power and since he's right next to a webway gate who says he's not leeching off the power of the warp .
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you misunderstand the whole saint thing, there are 2 types of saints. Living Saints and Sainted people. Living Saints are literally Angels, Sainted people are no different from people the pope in our would declares a saint.
Yes, there are two types, but Living Saints still started out as humans before being elevated. According to the Lexicanum page listing all saints, it says that general sainthood is often awarded posthumously, except in the case where it is given to a living person who becomes a Living Saint.
So we in a sense have 3 types then, Living Saints (Angelic), Living Saints (normal person) and Saints (post mortem). I remember reading that only women could become Living Saints (Angelic). A Living Saint (normal person) has no special powers as far as I know, it's just a title put upon them by the Ecclesiarchy and it's not possible to resurrect them via ritual or other means (well, Nurgle Necromancy perhaps but...).

I guess there are those who would see the Emperor's order as just another chaos, but that's what purging is for.

I Really love these videos, please keep doing them.
I feel like a more correct term for the emperor warp entities would be the Imperial Angels rather than Daemons.
Semantics.
The difference between angels and daemons largely depends upon where one is standing at the time.
Well Celestine did come back, then my mans Kharn came by

Enjoyed that thanks
IDICBeer 40k glad you enjoyed it buddy
The emperor a demon? 'Angry inquisition screeching'
thanks for doing this lore video
Gods if I didn't know you were a stickler over language I would post something horrible, just to tease you about that intro. Great video though man.
I would argue that Sabation Thor is the most famous imperial saint.
So Macharius is Alexander and Sabbat is Joan... got it. ;)

Tacica Imperialis in theory could it be that the Sisters of Battle are more loyal and devote then the Grey Knights?
josh thomas-moore in terms of believing in the god emperor? Yes. In terms of dedication , willpower and tenacity, no
This then does beg the question why did the grey Knights need to kill the Sisters of Battle when fighting the blood tide
I believe it was purity as opposed to loyalty, but to be honest that was written by Matt Ward so...
Oh yeah Matt Ward and his hatred for any army that are cooler then Grey Knights
Oh and while i remember during the last podcast you said that the Writhknight had a 2+ armour save they actually have 3+ armour and 5+ Invun save
kinda off topic but I kinda wanna see malal's demons it would be intresting and the emperor's demons too

Saint Macharius = Alexander of Macedon? Not sure of the details, but his story sounds *eerily* familiar.
saint celestine is alive. GATHERING STORM!!!
GS hadn't happened when this was written, so that's why I didn't mention it. Apologies that the info is now slightly out of date.
Cool!
What? No Saint Drusus?
Is Macharius 40k Alexander the great
Kind of, yeah; there's a couple of parallels between historical leaders and Imperial Guard commanders (Creed and Churchill is another, for example).
that black booty killed him.
so sangunius died and was reincarnated a living saint who was then killed by horus? because of the wings etc
I would say the Emperor is more like an 'equal opposite' of a Chaos God. He's more of an Order God...
Chaos God of Order…wait
