  • Sleep Positioning for Hypermobility can be a bear! If you can't get sleep due to hip or shoulder pain, hypermobility, post hip arthroscopy or shoulder surgey, OR are pregnant (or all 3!)? Here are 2 key sleep postures, that I call "Quarter Sidelying."
Quarter Sidelyling allows you to sleep by taking the hot spots off your hip and shoulder via allowing your spine, shoulder, and pelvic girdle to remain in neutral - a win-win for orthopedic aches and pains, especially if you have:
    - Joint Hypermobility
    - Ehlers Danlos Sydrome
    - Are Pregnant
    - Have had Hip Arthroscopy
    - Shoulder or Hip Injury that make it difficult to lie on the injured side

I do all of these naturally. People say I sleep weird sometimes, but that's when I sleep best.

Thanks so much. I think i have hypermobility, at least in one shoulder, and have had some bad shoulder and hip pain for no apparent reason

Hi, pregnant mom here with shoulder blade pain while sleeping on my sides. Ive attempted position one with pillows but have found it creates more all over back pain (but, I wasn’t straightening my leg). I bought a yoga bolster to see if it will help. Does it create a gap in your back or cause any other back issues?

It's hard to instruct on sleep positioning without an assessment. However, you could try the straight leg version, and also see how the yoga bolster helps -
