2023 Perodua Axia 1.0 AV Review in Malaysia! Five Adults Plus Luggage on ONE Full Tank? | WapCar

  • It’s no surprise that the 2023 Perodua Axia is a fuel efficient car, right? But can it still walk the talk when it’s loaded up with five adults and a boot full of luggage? Throw in the prospect of a road trip to Malacca (with highway runs) and we won’t blame you if you think a refuel stop or two is needed.
    So, did the 2023 Perodua Axia 1.0 AV, with its claimed MDC (Malaysian Driving Cycle) consumption figure of 27.4 km/l, make it to the home of ‘satay celup’ and chicken rice balls on a single tank of petrol? And even if it did, was it comfortable enough? Could this be a decent companion for road trips or is it best left for city runs?
    Join Adrian, Seline and Greg (and two more cameramen) as they find out.

    Here is my advice to the fresh grads, get the G-spec (the lowest spec) to allow yourself save some money for paying the deposit of your future house. You can upgrade the infotainment system from time to time. The ASA is not necessary for such small car since you are still young and having sharp mind to drive around for the next 10 years. After 5-9 years of installments, you can have the money to upgrade to the next segment of car to fetch your newborns.

    • @truthurts704

      i think the better choice still a saga. imagine hearing those noisy cvt + 60hp engine for 9 years? (most 1st car will stretch to 9 years loan). a plus point of saga is that the fresh graduate don't need to buy another car anymore when it's time to have a family. for 51k otr you can even get a freaking persona, think about it.

    It's a wonderful small car. Of course don't compare with higher ,big, expensive ,quality car. If this car suites your need perfectly, althought slightly expensive for an extra of around RM 5000, just take it. You will just drive it happily with full satisfaction wherever you go. Most important is YOU love this car. I'm 76 yrs, driving the Avanza 18yrs. Lately I've booked the Axia SE. My Avanza need overhaul. On second thought, I want the Axia SE as my last Car cos I just love THIS CAR.

    They should have made it at least 1.2 NA engine and remove 1.3 option from myvi. That will justify the price hike more and avoid internal competition between 1.3 myvi and axia, considering the dimensions are not that much different.

    Its a brilliant car but i would prefer if you do FC test in city driving with traffic jams and all. Its pointless to do FC test on highway as most cars will always get good FC on the highways. If you must do FC test on the highway, you should drive the car hard instead of cruising at a constant speed. Then only we will be able to see the real life driving FC.

    I agree on the red colour. I'm a sucker for red but the Lava red seems cheap on the new Axia. P2 should use the Garnet Red of the myvi instead, or at least make the Lava red metallic instead of solid red. Also imho new coral blue should have more green, more on teal or turqouise but that's just a nitpick. The Coral blue does have a green tint in certain lighting.

    It's much better now but still feels cheap for the asking price. Instead of safety, perodua should put more soundproofing to the car & then it will be perfect for the price. Having all that safety tech is useless if u r still tired of the noise.

    • @Nabilllllll
      @Nabilllllll Год назад +4

      Lmao imagine thinking a soundproofing is better than safety features. You can easily install an aftermarket soundproofing material but where can you intall a safety feature?

    • @pauljaa4719
      @pauljaa4719 Год назад

      @@Nabilllllll Previous axia av safety is good enough, no need more advance. No point upgrading safety so much until B40 can't afford it anymore. Soundproofing instead can make axia to be a more mature car to drive without hiking price so much. And ppl love a better-to-drive axia than too-much-safety axia. Axia buyers are not buying axia for ultimate safety, style or performance. Axia is a basic short distance workhorse car, & many buy it for that very purpose. Sales top for lower spec axias instead of AV spec in previous gens.

    • @pauljaa4719
      @pauljaa4719 Год назад +1

      @@Nabilllllll Want a better axia with better tech? Myvi is there to help. That's myvi's purpose. An upgrade for axia owners. In fact, ur so-called safer axia is only axia av. Se, x & g are all worse safety than previous av. All two airbags & no aeb but pricier. Hence why i suggested if they only loaded the top av with all the goodies, just leave that top stuff to myvi coz that's myvi purpose, perodua top image. Instead, make axia worth it with more tangible features like soundproofing. New axia has better engine performance & fuel efficiency, better ride & handling, better space & lastly should have better soundproofing to make it a better daily city car.
