As a lead, I can definitely agree that it makes our job easier when the follow knows the footwork. We don't have to muscle the follows through the turns so it makes a big difference. Thanks for the video.

Hmm I’ve never counted what step is on what beat. When I began dancing I had a great teacher who drilled me heavily on my form and not on anticipating moves. I also tune into the music and let my body vs my mind take over. This is what I love about following is giving my mind a break. I also lean in on the balls of my feet vs squarely on the balls, this was a tip one instructor showed me that helps me stay even lighter on my feet. But different strokes for different folks 👌

My technic is.. how to be good follower is 50%on lead 50%on technic... And let's the hand move first by the leader before you do the movement... And don't to much tension on your hand... So that's can make you more easy to follow the leader movement...

So important. Glad you teach about this. I joined a neighbour to go to her regular Salsa class in the city(75kms away). I love it. I love dancing yet total newbie(in my later years now)to Salsa. I'm just "getting by" just like you mentioned. Am better with a good leader & am reliant on that. Everything about the footwork, arms & timing to music is new to me yet I love it. Teachers are great at the big classes with a huge variety of couples (beginners class). Teacher pointed out that my arm/elbow was too loose too much following & offering no resistance/strength at all. Perhaps it comes with many more classes & practice & knowing my own steps & gain confidence. Thankyou so much. Really interesting! :)

@@DancerUniversity No classes due to 'home shelter'. I do a little Suzie-Q practice in the kitchen. :) Thankyou for asking.
