0:36 Tip 1: Stretch Your Core 1:44 Tip 2: Spotting 3:18 Tip 3: Good Preparation 5:27 **Special Preparation 6:36 Tip 4: Breathing 7:42 Tip 5: Practice Great Tips! My favorite is number 5! 🤔When I started learning to spin - I found it hard to do even one full spin - and also spot with my head. The unlock for me was to practice 1/4 and 1/2 spins - and not use the word spotting - which confuse us to think it is about the where we look - our eyes - when in fact it is about the movement of the head. 💡That is why in my my series videos of the 3 Fundamental of Spins I call that *The Head Snap* - which I can practice also with 1/4 and 1/2 spins My channel is dedicated for *PRACTICING SPINS* - so you are welcome to check it out - if you want to improve your spins with *FOLLOW ALONG tutorials* . 😊Have a Great day - and no matter which videos you use remember that: _Practice isn't the thing you do once you are good, it is the thing you do that makes you good!!_
Very nice instruction video!. Wish these videos would have been around in 2006 and 07 when I was taking salsa dancing lessons. I used to practice everyday after work and go to Miami salsa clubs to dance the night away.😁 It became an obsession but a nice healthy one at that. Now in my 60's I still practice my spins.😅 Salsa is something that is very addicting to say the least.🙂
I love miami , what an incredible place 😍. And dancing salsa is for everyone , that's the beauty of it, I'm glad you found my videos, better late then never as they say 😉
@@DanceWithRasa Yes, Miami is beautiful in winter as it is like today at 70 degrees outside. Just cannot do much in summer since the temps. are usually feeling like 100 degrees or more.😎
I started taking salsa lessons 2 months ago and omg it's pretty hard 😅 I watched almost every video on your channel and you have really amazing tips!! I would love to go to your salsa workshops ❤️
Thank you so much, this is brilliant, so helpful. I’ve been practicing and I’m getting better😊 I’ve just started a Salsa and I’m loving all your videos, inspiring.
It’s really an absolute refreshing joy watching your videos. You are not only a dancer but a very good natural teacher. I’m so grateful for all your videos. Best that I’ve ever seen. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
If you made a 30 day ( or something with a time frame )progressive spin course I would buy it :). Like different exercises everyday that build on each other. Because I need it, I don't seem to progress in the tangible way I'd like to :(
Thank-you Rasa. Loved the lesson and the tips. Especially the tip about breathing, indeed this is so less talked about but is so very important. Btw when I go for continuous spinning, generally for two or more, I experience dizziness. Have you or any of your students experienced it in the past? any suggestions on how to fight it would helpful :)
Hi, yes dizziness is very common so you are not on your own , spotting helps but sometimes you just have to push and practice threw dizziness to get used to it. It might take some time, but keep pushing and it will get better. Now if you have vertigo it won't go away, but you can still dance and enjoy spinning 😉.
Thank you for the precious lectures,... I have some questions about turning count of prep,, starting and ending of various turning and spin. For example, right and left turn, inside turn, outside turn, double spin ... Please on2... Thanks always teacher..
Thanks you. I am 60 years old. Doing it for the first time. I get a little dizzy. I will keep practising. I think the shoes and the floor might also influence your performance. I like watching your video.
please can you share your tips how to do multiple spins, like as many as possible? I found it impossible to spin in a 'sitting' position. It´s hard to find it out by myself without a partner to train with. xxx
For now tth using your core to twist a bit and preparation with yourcfeet as shown in the vidro to create momentum gor spins :) But later i will try and make z specific video for that 😉
Ok so Jai's FB post about your 10,000 for 2021 brought me to you & here I am. Need help with my spins & your tips will help thanks. Im salsa/bachata as well 👍😊
So amazing how you get the msg across. Simple yet on point and definitely so clear. Cant wait to start doing your tips and getting ready for the next. I love your teaching style!!!!
In the beginning you said breathing in stretches the diaphram, but we should not hold it in correct? It is just a stretch? Breathe in (prep spin, stretch diaphr) and breathe out (spin) - but how do we stay tight? Sorry, I am working on my spins still so a bit confused :D
Great question , breathing in to feel the stretch of a diaphragm is just an example , you diaphragm should always be stretch its what we call engaged core 😉 ill make a video with exercises just for that 🤩
@@DanceWithRasaThat is helpful, thank you. I also think when I am anxious or mentally not present breathing helps so much, I dance much better when I am relaxed and focused, so these could go together perhaps? Thanks again!!
@@DanceWithRasa Welcome...I love breaking down the aspects you've mentioned to watch when practicing. Most of teachers I had contact with were just about showing what to practice without detailed explanation (maybe besides the spotting aspect) but spining is very sensitive to errors so every aspect counts. Thanks ;) (I hope to dance with you some day...parhaps on elsol this year )
Thank you so so much!

when doing double-spins, do you breathe in again or do you breathe out for the entire double spin?
Entire, Spins are so fast you wouldn't be able to keep breathing in and out on every single one of them 😉.

Soft knees definitely. We never want yo bend them so much that it affects our posture. So just softening them should be enough 😊
