I don't stay up late but I usually wake up a couple times every night and I always get up and check out my night crew. It's pretty much the only way I ever see my Tokay unless I'm going in and handling him.
I don't know if you still have a thrip problem but I noticed at the supermarket that at least here in Florida they are selling an Ivermectin shampoo over the counter for head lice. I have used abamectin (Avid) for many years as a thrip control. Abamectin is the parent chemical used to make ivermectin. This might work on a small scale for treating plants since the detergent part of the shampoo would also be insecticidal .. IIRC abamectin doesn't stick around long and you could release beneficials a week after treatment . It might be worth a try. In any case it might be a good snake mite treatment too if care is taken.
So cute! QotD: I sometimes end up feeding my crested gecko, Escher, fairly late if I come home from some event or gathering late at night. But I think the latest has probably not been much later than midnight. On the other hand, I am one of those people who wakes up often at night to use the bathroom, so I frequently check on him on the way back from doing so, just to see what he's up to during the night. (I use a book light partially shielded by my hand so it's not too bright to disturb him.) My crested gecko also happens to be a suuuuuuper picky eater though. I've tried him on multiple flavors of pangea and repashy, as well as crickets and fresh blackberries. So far the only thing he'll eat is the pangea growth and breeding formula. (And even then, not always; he completely refused to eat anything from one of the larger bags and didn't eat for a week until we bought a new small bag for him.) I don't suppose you have any advice on getting a picky crestie to branch out and try new foods?
I've stayed up until 3 am before taking care of my reptiles before. I'm naturally a night owl and so most days I take care of them at around 10 pm - 12 am regardless. I've got a crested gecko (relatively tamed), a gargoyle gecko (who hates me lol), a leopard gecko and a black-and-white California kingsnake.
The latest my reptiles have needed me to be up is 11 or 12 at night. I have a Black House Snake who is nocturnal and I was trying to see if feeding him later at night might help him eat. Finnley the ball python sets his own hours and prefers to be crepuscular, 8-11 both AM and PM, so he's easier to feed.
I definitely need to work on my cresties, they’re healthy and active but I definitely don’t interact with them enough, very food driven so they’ll always have a go at me until I pick them up. Yours are so calm at all times ❤ And to answer the question of the day i tend to work night shifts so I quite routinely feed my cresties and leopard geckos between 3-5am when I get home, and I feed the snakes, fish and beardies before I go to work 😊 maintenance wise I usually wait for a day off but sometimes I’ll do late night water changes
i stay up late all the time last year during finals I stayed up till 3/4 the last 2 hours were spent with my creasty he was not out for the whole time but I watched him for most of the time
Do the glass frogs eat pinhead crickets or are they not big enough? I loved the elegant sand geckos. I loved watching the build video for their enclosure
They even eat size 3-4. Way better than fruitflies. This video is not a good example on how to keep glassfrogs. You shouldn't constantly keep them above water, this causes insane breeding stress. Hence why Dayyan hasn't properly bred them yet. He isn't doing it well.
@@Biolo-G_KJ oh no 😬 I didn't notice water at the bottom of the tank. I also thought fruit flies was an odd thing to give to them, that's why I asked. Wouldn't breeding stress cause them to breed?
@@DoorsToHideBehind156 no, breeding stress causes the females to barely yolk up and constantly be under stress from males that call all the time and not eat properly because of it. In the wild these frogs do not live above streams. They simply breed there. I bred alot of glassfrogs in very high numbers. I told Dayyan multiple times what to do when he asked me. Literally 1-2 months ago we had a whole talk on facebook about this. So I'm honestly very suprises to see that he changed nothing and is wondering why his fleischmanni are not doing the best.
Thanks for the love! Tbh you couldn't keep one in an enclosure that size. You could keep a baby or juvenile in there for awhile but you'd need a minimum 18x18x24 sized enclosure for one :). Hope that helps!
'Answer' with my centipedes i have stayed up past 4am to feed as thats the time they emerge from burrows. ps. i had my ackie monitor mate hes beautiful and tame :).. love your vids
@@Reptiliatus yes im a bit of a night owl anyway so everything gets fed late. i didnt breed the ackie mate i bought it, hes roughly 4 months old so quite small so far. hes very alert and feeds well :)
I once stayed up until about 5 am trying to get one of my sand boas to eat. Though when I had a few of my reps in my room, I was woken up many times at 2 or 3 am to feed my gargoyles or tokay gecko, they love to let me know when they want more food.
Loved this vid! I have a crested gecko, only had him about 8 months so still learning. I love how you have multiple cresties in one tank, is that always okay to do? Or is it better to have separate tanks?
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it! I think it’s best to have them all separate in an ideal situation but those were together for breeding purposes mostly
QOTD: I think the latest I’ve stayed up to take care of my animals is like 2am during the pandemic, I’ve had trouble sleeping in the past so I just feed my nocturnal geckos and see what the inverts are up to. That little moment of Rambo and Pingu was so cute. I know you first got Rambo on loan from your friend but he’s still with you? Just curious how that works, I’m sure your friend trusts you implicitly but i would miss my gecko tbh. The glass frogs have the cutest little faces omg I love them.
my boyfriend knows I like tokays so she's tarted sending me Tiki videos. I don't think he realizes I follow you and have seen them already. but really it's the thought that counts ;-)
All sorts of places 😅. I work very hard to find them! Some are from random imports, some are from the USA, some are animals people are looking to rehome.
Thanks for your concern! I'm always looking to improve my care and housing! They have been doing well in this enclosure for almost 5 years but after I reorganize my reptile room I am planning to upgrade them to a 24" x 18" x 36" enclosure :)!
3am to feed my snake. I got off at 9pm and forgot to take the rat out of the fridge to start warming up. By the time I got to feed her after waiting for my snake to wake up (she usually comes out around 11-midnight but will come out sooner if I scent things). It was like 2ish and cleanup/bed by 3. Long night. Thankfully I worked 3rd shift at the time for one job and day for the other. So I could sleep in since I wasn't at work the next day, I was at job 2 at 10pm. 😴
Latest I have stayed up is 4:30 AM and I don’t sleep in either cause I’m a single mom haha so I get up and care for my little on top of having 4 hours of sleep at most some night 😂😂

It’s crazy how much Pangea my leachies eat even the hatchlings eat way more than I would think . My crested geckos eat way less which is to be expected but the leachies really put it away
I've had to stay up maybe at least past 1 AM when cows and horses were giving birth people always act like reptiles are harder than mammals but mammals really are harder I can guarantee it. Atleast when breeding time comes round.
The local pet stores where I get my crickets started carrying those crickets that you fed your todays and I really like them. They live a lot longer and breed like crazy in my lizard enclosures especially the really large enclosures
Hi another great video. Do you. Or any. one have any tips on getting wild tokay geckos to eat because i would like to breed some tokay geckos golden geckos and maybe green eyed geckos. I know that CB geckos are better but sometimes wild geckos are your only option. And i don't know how late i have been awake with my animal's. Have a great day.
I have two whites tree frogs and a hamster the rest of my animals eat during the day. The latest I’ve stayed up is midnight when my frogs decided their. It ready to wake up.
Ah yes, I’m watching this right after I fed Geode my Leopard Gecko 😌 (If you wanna check him out, I have videos of him on my Channel too 😁) And btw, my answer is: Reptiles, marine life and any other animal you find in the zoo
I don’t know exactly how late I have been carrying for my animals, as I commonly stay late at night. Maybe around 4 AM. Please be careful with the fly larvae, because they are very tough and hard to digest. Bearded dragons can easily chew them, but I had trouble with baby leopard geckos not digesting them and my crested gecko refused them after a few feedings. Just because they are pliable doesn’t mean that they aren’t tough. They are extremely tough and resistant to pressure. Waxworms, which are marketed as soft, are quite tough too, although not in the same degree as BSFL. The adults look like wasps for mimicry reasons. They need to confuse predators, because otherwise they are quite slow and clumsy flyers.

(And even then, not always; he completely refused to eat anything from one of the larger bags and didn't eat for a week until we bought a new small bag for him.) I don't suppose you have any advice on getting a picky crestie to branch out and try new foods?
Do you have any tips for whites tree frogs i just got a new one!
Great video I like the crested geckos will be getting some
What size enclosure is your leachie pair in?
For Pangea can you mix it with normal water or with dechorlinated water?
The latest my reptiles have needed me to be up is 11 or 12 at night. I have a Black House Snake who is nocturnal and I was trying to see if feeding him later at night might help him eat. Finnley the ball python sets his own hours and prefers to be crepuscular, 8-11 both AM and PM, so he's easier to feed.
I definitely need to work on my cresties, they’re healthy and active but I definitely don’t interact with them enough, very food driven so they’ll always have a go at me until I pick them up. Yours are so calm at all times ❤
And to answer the question of the day i tend to work night shifts so I quite routinely feed my cresties and leopard geckos between 3-5am when I get home, and I feed the snakes, fish and beardies before I go to work 😊 maintenance wise I usually wait for a day off but sometimes I’ll do late night water changes
i stay up late all the time last year during finals I stayed up till 3/4 the last 2 hours were spent with my creasty he was not out for the whole time but I watched him for most of the time
Haha finals always keep us up! Thank you for sharing!
@@Biolo-G_KJ daaang that sucks to hear :(
I love your crested,my kid is asking how many Tokays you could keep in a 12x12x18,thank you for taking your time with making videos.
Thanks for the love! Tbh you couldn't keep one in an enclosure that size. You could keep a baby or juvenile in there for awhile but you'd need a minimum 18x18x24 sized enclosure for one :). Hope that helps!
Thank you, me and my son are new to geckos
You know this guy knows what he’s doing because his crestys have their tails
Hiii! Where do you get those cute feeding bowls for your crested geckos?
Hi! ReptilesRus ! They ship internationally!
love your animals and videos ❤
Thank you so much!
'Answer' with my centipedes i have stayed up past 4am to feed as thats the time they emerge from burrows. ps. i had my ackie monitor mate hes beautiful and tame :).. love your vids
Haha awesome! So glad I'm not alone in the late night feeding habits! Congrats on the ackies breeding if I understood that correctly!
What worms do you feed your cersties? awesome video btw!
Thanks! I offer them a wide variety! Small horn worms, silk worms, superworms, wax worms, etc :).
Dose any one have any advice on what to feed my musk turtles because Google say like peas a carrot but they don't like either of them
Only midnight for me as I’ve got 4 kids that wake up super early lol
Loved this vid! I have a crested gecko, only had him about 8 months so still learning. I love how you have multiple cresties in one tank, is that always okay to do? Or is it better to have separate tanks?
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it! I think it’s best to have them all separate in an ideal situation but those were together for breeding purposes mostly
Frequently feed my geckos 3-5 am but i am a night owl. You are going to bed now it's very late -
"nope it's very early - ok not that funny"
I have insomnia 🤣 I used to rarely sleep at night. Now days I'm medicated so it's not so bad lol
Where did you get your red eyed crocodile skinks
All sorts of places 😅. I work very hard to find them! Some are from random imports, some are from the USA, some are animals people are looking to rehome.
@@Reptiliatus mk, but is there a website i can have because i wanna get a pair for my bd
@@Reptiliatus or if you have any about ready to be rehomed
hi great animals but dont you think the giant gecko tank is way to small for two of them
Thanks for your concern! I'm always looking to improve my care and housing! They have been doing well in this enclosure for almost 5 years but after I reorganize my reptile room I am planning to upgrade them to a 24" x 18" x 36" enclosure :)!
@@Reptiliatus happy to hear they are getting an upgreat 😁
You need to replace the battery in your smo....oh that was FROGS!
Hahaha love that joke 😂👌🏼! Yes, they are quite chatty at night! I’ve gotten used to it! 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
the latest was about 2am, but i try to keep it to midnight the latest
Latest I have stayed up is 4:30 AM and I don’t sleep in either cause I’m a single mom haha so I get up and care for my little on top of having 4 hours of sleep at most some night 😂😂
im dont think this counts but i woke up at 2:30 and decided to play with my crestie, apart from that ive stayed up till 12:00
That's awesome lol. I wish I could do that. I just stay up late to play with mine. I have 30+ cresties at the moment!
@@tmreptile That's awesome! Are you a breeder?
@@Phoenix-cx9dc Yup! Breeder and aspiring RUclipsr although I’m fairly new. I mostly breed dalmatians, super dals, and I’m starting inkblots soon! I have some others but my focus is on the dals for sure
It was proboably about ten thirty
Nice!
It’s crazy how much Pangea my leachies eat even the hatchlings eat way more than I would think . My crested geckos eat way less which is to be expected but the leachies really put it away
How come Dav never does home feedings?
No idea! You'll have to ask him! He does travel a lot though!
@@Reptiliatus yeah he needs to do one, you know him better. I’m just a peon.
Do female cresties always lay eggs or do they only do it when breeding? I wouldn't wanna get a female if they lay eggs every month
I’ve never actually stayed up “for” my snake because I already tend to stay lateish already, but I have handled my Kenyan sand boa as late as 1am.
I feed my leopard geckos around 1am. But sometimes the youngest one still isn't ready to eat.
I have two whites tree frogs and a hamster the rest of my animals eat during the day. The latest I’ve stayed up is midnight when my frogs decided their. It ready to wake up.
I hit bell and everything and I still have to come to your page for content 😢
That’s not good! Maybe try undoing it and doing it again? Thanks for letting me know though!
I held a leachie for the first time a month ago. It felt like a lizard wearing pajamas.
I sleep in 2 hour intervals. My dachshunds want out every two hours. I have fed my reptiles as early as 3am.
whens the next satanic leaf tailed gekco update?
Ah yes, I’m watching this right after I fed Geode my Leopard Gecko 😌
(If you wanna check him out, I have videos of him on my Channel too 😁)
And btw, my answer is: Reptiles, marine life and any other animal you find in the zoo
Their stomachs are bottomless pits. Now at 4:15am you are making me hungry.
Sleep..? What's that like..? 😵💫
Hi Dayyan! I’m first one here!!
Wahoo! Thanks so much for your support and viewership!
I've stayed up 24 hours multiple times. But I have bad insomnia and adhd lmao
Ooft you win! I haven’t quite done that but I’ve stayed up super late for sure!

Hey,Be nice to your father
