  • Produced in 1945 by the Treasury Department, "Peace Comes to America" contemplates the financial implications of the end of the war, and the responsibilities the government has to take care of its veterans -- including wounded vets -- as they transition back to "normal life."
The film begins with President Truman's declaration that Japan has surrendered and then shows the immediate aftermath around the world and the homecoming of millions of American men. It then solemnly contrasts the victors and the defeated powers and their peoples, and provides some insight into America's new responsibility as the world's greatest superpower. The underlying idea of the film is that although World War II is over, Americans still have responsibility for their government, veterans of the war, and world security. The peacetime America's future is not assured, and neither is the future success of our veterans, but must be carefully cultivated. Features appearances by President Harry S. Truman, Secretary of the Treasury Fred M. Vinson, and Ted R. Gamble, national director of the War Finance Division.
The film discusses the G.I. Bill, and the educational benefits provided for veterans.

Now Olympic decathlon gold medalists are wearing panties while living in a house filled w/ more p$@y than any man on earth can handle and ass faced fat chicks are legally getting hormone shots, growing beards and actually believing they have wangs. F'ed up times I'd give absolutely anything to go back 60yrs.

@@markwinchester3005 I'm with you there. I'd give just about anything to go back a good 60, 70, or even 80 years.
The world, this country has gone to total shit. The founders of this once great Republic would be so disgusted and ashamed for what it has become.

@@brad25000 Disagree. Progress ensues and time continues. Life is better than it was 80 years ago less war and more modern amenities. Be honest some aspects of modern liberalism may annoy you but has it really affected you personally in any significant sense?

@@DoisMitosEmBuscaDeAventuras He's getting my vote if we make it to the election, but I don't think it's going to matter in the end.
They'll stop at nothing to keep him out of the W.H. and he is up against the whole government.
Every 3 letter agency and every outfit that's not even on the books is working against him.
I really hope n pray he is able to beat them at their game but the odds are stacked against him.
