At $50 a pop. It’s the only one I’m buying. The George Marino and Ted Sterling re-issues from 30 years ago still hold up as far as I’m concerned. Remember when these were all issued on Dolby S HX Pro prerecorded cassettes ? I bought them all back in the day including the BMG Classical. Chieftains on Dolby S was a reference cassette for me.
It’s a part of the AC/DC’s 50th Anniversary as a recording Band (e.g Jailbreak ‘74). Yep. And I’ll be 55 in December ! I was about to turn 12 when it was released. Also, WKRP was and still is my favorite show at the time and that albums promo poster was prominently displayed in the DJ booth of the show.
Yes and No. Originally, he was going to stay with the SMPS supplies. Then we had issues with two different vendors. One did "rectify" the problem. The other just gave him his money back and he's never dealt with them ever again. Personally, I have a love/hate relationship with Switch Supplies. When they work...they just WORK !!! No trouble for many years. But when something does happen either long term or short term. You are at the mercy of the Switched Mode Power Supply vendor and that WILL delay product nevermind problems at the existing customers end that is no fault of the product Engineer involved. All that said him & I love Linear Power Supplies with a big fat Toroidal, a beefy rectifier, a shit ton of DC filter caps. We both just hate the weight..... 🤣
Hey! Thanks for sharing. I think “audiophiles” get off on having heavy and dense gear. Have you found any sound quality improvements when you moved from the SMPS to a LPS?
@@ferchizzleHonestly, if anything, a little more focused Phantom Center. But quite honestly. LPS Supplies cooler to look at and easy to fix unlike SMPS’s. 2 years ago I had a friend over and we tried to hear a difference between my 5 Channel monstrosity that Leo guided me in building compared to a stock Dual power supply and cap banked Orchard Ultra Stereo. Basically, pick your poison. Weight over Coolness or vice versa. Sorry, not the answer you were expecting. But then you know I never Intend not to “Candy Coat” these things on my channel.

Did you inspire Leo to create monoblocks with a linear power supply?
