- These are the pair of Philharmonic Audio BMR Bookshelf Speakers that were used at the 2024 AZAVClub’s DAC it Out event.
To my ears. These are THE Speakers to buy for the $2k price bracket.

I just bought the BMR HT towers with the BMR center! These are amazing for music and movies as well. Best speakers I bought ever!
I'm Jealous ! Enjoy my friend. What are your surround speakers ? Are doing Dolby Atmos ?
I heard these at Axpona and have to agree that these are an outstanding bargain.
These Speakers demonstrate the real difference between mass produced Speakers and custom designed yet affordable stuff built right here in America.

Amazing 👏 tho expensive
Interesting, thx for sharing 👍
Thank you for watching.
a truly excellent summary of these, but a few minor corrections. The BMR monitors are not transmission line, the HT tower has an F3 at around 40hz as such they do extend lower. I own 3 BMR monitors, used with a custom two sub setup
I need to keep the cut sheet for these Speakers in front of me when I talk on camera LOL. That setup you have most likely sounds fantastic I'm sure.
Cheers,
Joe
Might you have an opinion; would you go for the monitors with sub or the floor standers? Which sub do you have? Would you chose another?
Depends on the room , the SPL you want to hit and how insane you are. I do have the HT towers as well with 2 Funk Audio subs in my living/theater room (9.6K watts peak). There I can hit volume levels that are obscene. I'm a raw driver nut/collector so in a very modestly sized bedroom my BMRs are paired with custom made 1.25 cu/ft sealed boxes with 12" CSS sdx12 drivers. About 110 pounds each unit. My priority is sound quality in drivers not SPL. Proud to be a Philharmonic fan with more speakers arriving in 10 days or so
for more detailed help head over to the AVS Philharmonic forum, someone can give you some guidance, half the time you will be talking to industry pros, classically trained musicians or recording engineers. The other half of the time you will get a nut like me
@@VisionCarrierDreamCatcherBecause I already have 4 Sealed Subs that I like. 5 of the BMR Monitors would work for me personally. But I I had the budget. The Towers with the 8” Woofers and 3 BMR monitors would be the ultimate (but I’d accept the dual Purifi towers of course).
A man can dream, can’t he ?
I ordered the Streamline HTs in Ebony, cant wait! Have not seen any reviews for them yet, but I understand they are very similar to the HT Towers…
I still have Stand Mounts but have been going back and forth between the Philharmonic Audio BMR Stand Mounts (with Subs) and my heavily modified Cornwall IV's (no Subs).
They sound like an incredible bargain. Question: the mid-range is where most of the music lives -- vocals, guitars, piano/keyboard, strings. So for me, it's the most important thing to get right. Timbre, detail, low noise floor, dynamics, image stability, "holographic-ness," and just overall realism -- how well does that tiny mid-range driver perform with regard to these characteristics?
The BMR driver is the ideal transition piece between the RAAL Mundorf Tweeter and the 6”Ceramic SB Acoustics Woofer.
They give off the amazing ”3D” quality and that precious midrange as you asked is not messed with.
The fact that Dennis Murphy is both a Classical musician and worked in an Orchestra for many years (hence the name “Philharmonic Audio”). He understands both the audience and stage perspectives of sound.
The fact they they play my favourite Prog Rock and Classic Rock music along with both acoustic and electric Jazz (Fusion Jazz).
Makes them a great all rounder. If you are interested Mike, they have a 14 day return policy and they are meeting deliverables as mentioned in the Video.
Ken is awesome and you can reach him at info@philharmonicaudio.com.
Thanks for watching ! ✌🏾🤟🏾
@@joeygsaudiochannel3972 Thanks Joey. They are on my short list for sure.
I can't believe tou said That!!!
I did ! Thanks for watching.
I listen to a lot of 90s Deep House - would these be a good pick for playing records and digital at home? Thanks!
You need Subwoofers. These things roll off below 40Hz the further away from the wall. But I threw 70's Prog Rock, lots of Jazz/Jazz Fusion, & Classical Big Symphony stuff. The held their own pretty good.
You are just scratching the surface here if you have not tried these along with new Philharmonic center channel. You will never use a phantom center again.
I bet U R right ▶️
I never use a Phantom Center for Multichannel music & movies (I have a Heresy IV under the TV for that). But for two channel stereo, the Phantom Center (Center Channel Speaker always off) is more precise than my Cornwall IV's (which give of a decent Phantom Center in their own right).
Thanks for watching.
@@joeygsaudiochannel3972 Definitely agree. I use Pure direct for all music but never with movies
Great video, thabk you. This might be a nonsense question, but given how many good bookshelf speakers fall into the 2-3k category do you have any favorites in the 5-7k region? Anything you've heard or spent any time with that stand out?
I'm not gonna msay Klipsch. Why ? Because I knew when I bought my pair (used), what I was in for WRT to Preamp/Amp matching. That painful lesson is what's biting me in the Arse at this moment.
My answer to your question all Bullshitting aside:
BMR's "audiophile Tower" only because I heard them at Capital Audiofest 2022 & 2023
philharmonicaudio.com/products/bmr-tower
ATC SCM40's (my friend Curt has a pair - they are as detailed as you can get with that "punch in the gut" unbloated Bass

I can't comment on the MoFi 888's cause I haven't heard them (yet)
More money but attack and decay better than any Martin Logan Speakers I've heard. Jansen Electrostatic VALENTINA P8 (PASSIVE). More money and Subs aren't necessary unles you're a Bass Freak like me

Thanks again for watching my Video. Doing a follow up with better micing and a lot less sleepy looking...LOL !
Better than the Closer Acoustics OGY?
I saw Steve Huff's review with the OB Subs. I haven't heard them though.
Enjoyed this video! I've been rather taken with Fritz Heiler’s Carbon 7 SE Mk 2 standmount speakers. They have a uniquely simple crossover that make them amenable to many kinds of amps and just sound, well, lusciously musical. Short review here: ruclips.net/video/LpI6eAvc4_M/видео.htmlsi=6wzJT_eyxFT4m6sq
Two friends of mine own the Fritz Bookshelf speakers and they are worth the hype. Not cheap since he puts the money in the drivers and quality crossover components.
real deal like the dynaco spkrs got for nothing now that is a deal
