Your version of this song has really touched me. I grew up a with a very physically, verbally, emotionally and mentally abusive father and a mother and step father who was far more emotionally and mentally abusive then him. Not verbally or physical but it still tore me down my whole life. Though my mother and step father have changed a lot for the good in only just the past 5 years and my father has not, I forgive them all even though they had spent most of my life making me feel like I was never good enough to succeed furthermore than where I'm at now or at anything I wanted to do. They would gas light me to cover up what they were doing making me look like the one who had issues and take me doctor shopping to have me diagnosed with disorders and medicated for these disorders I came to find out years later I never had or needed to be medicated for. I grew up believing there was something terribly wrong with me and because of all that I always swore I would never do any of that to my child. Like it was sang in the song "because of you I find it hard to trust not only me but everyone around me "I fear I will do the same to my son though I have yet too, plan never too, and have not even the though too. Its my deepest fear I will hurt my son the same way.
Also when said in this song "i was so young, you should have known better than to lean on me, you never thought of anyone else you just saw your pain". Really touched me deep. I know this is originally a Kelly Clarkson song but the fact your a boy most likely now a man it has made this song so much easier to relate too. Keep singing Ronan, you have a lot of talent.
