    DANGER WARNING: This guy says to put most of your weight on your back foot. This is inviting death, especially on an e-skate where high speeds are common. Absolutely terrible advice. Every skater, longboarder, snowboarder, etc should all know that your C.O.M. (center of mass) needs to be focused over the front of your board (more weight on your front foot) for reasons of stability, balance and control. Humans like to be oriented upright, so when your board is going down an incline it's even more important to focus on putting your weight forward because your natural instinct is to pull back. This causes speed wobbles and a loss of control and is the #1 cause of accidents at speed on a skateboard. Be safe, be smart, put your weight over your front foot at all times - especially when you're going fast or down a hill.

      yes. putting weight on the front is the most effective way of avoiding speed wabbles

    i live in the uk eboarding is illegal , so ill prefer a silent hub to keeping out of the police radar :) great vid thanks

    I have the Xway X1 one pro with Riot and hub motor package. I think the biggest difference between the two is the smoothness of the ride and you get a higher top speed with the Hub Motors. I have to change belts more often than I thought in 6 months I've went through almost three sets of belts. They cost $25 a set keep that in mind as well. And I have places that have small rocks and I've had lots of them get into the gears and belts. Still love them both though.

      I ran my board into sand and a bunch of rocks and bailed out. The belt was fine and rode it all the way home. My ego was bruised tho 😒 I’m starting to like the belt drive. It has a good feel. I don’t know, I might be team belt now lol 😬

    Hub is the way to go for the noise reduction. I know for a lot of people they dont think into it until they pass a police officers and he gives you a ticket for your electric skateboard. With a hub you can just act like its a normal board and pump past the boys in blue! In addition when you run out of battery it becomes a regular skateboard...

    i want to be able to push or ride downhill without leaning on the throttle, but I also want nice soft wheels since the roads here are pretty jacked up, i don't know what to do, honestly....

    • @jhamPlays
      @jhamPlays 4 месяца назад

      Belt drive will still run downhill at speed and that's where you will notice minimal resistance. It was my biggest concern when switching but it's really not an issue once you get used to it. There are some companies that offer sleeves now for hub motors. I got a set of custom ones from a guy that made them before companies started making their own and it made a huge difference. Recently upgraded to belt with AT wheels and honeslty wouldn't go back to PU or even cloudwheels, just feels safer and not constantly scanning for rougher surfaces.

    Hey man how would you go about adjusting the belts ? tightening them and loosening them. my fear is belts snapping frequently. or is that not even a issue and it’s in my head lol.

    Go with hubs. I have a Meepo V4s and a Flow. The hubs are much better ride feel. The V4s freewheels so nice and just glides along. The Flow always has to be on throttle. It's nice but that board woulda been so much nicer with hubs.

    Everything I’ve seen online says keep pressure on front not back foot? I’m questioning if I’ve been learning how to ride wrong this whole time now.. help

    • @jonthestreet
      @jonthestreet  4 года назад

      Put pressure on front foot too. Even it out. It’s only when I go over bumps I take pressure off front a bit. But do what you’re comfortable with. Each person is different.

    • @FalloutUgglan
      @FalloutUgglan 4 года назад +2

      Keeping more pressure on the front foot supposedly decreases speed wobbles.
      Here's a video showing what can happen with bad weight distribution: ruclips.net/video/DUP5voyw1B8/видео.html
      The video is a bit more extreme than what would happen on a board since there's only two wheels on the carriage behind the car, but it gets the point across.

    • @jhamPlays
      @jhamPlays 4 месяца назад

      Pressure and weight are different. Pressure can be balanced but weight needs to be forward. I push with my back foot to straighten my back leg and push my body forward. One thing yopu don't do is steer with your back foot once you are gaining speed.

    Ive picked an E-board with Hub. It is really as powerfull as a belt one. Anyway the difference is not that big. But that belt noise.. The only BIG downside is irreplaceable wheels. Thats bad

    Some people say belt drive is more comfortable to ride. Do you agree? If so, why? Great video by the way, I like your sense of humor. lol

    • @jonthestreet
      @jonthestreet  4 года назад

      I think comfort depends on the board deck. My exway board feels good. My friend just got the new exway flex and says the board is more curvy and wears out his foot more than mine. But his board has a cool flex to it, so that feels good too. I’m starting to like the belt motor because I can feel the board more with the little motor vibration. Also if u want more comfort, get the cloud wheels. I rode my friends board with the cloud wheels and like it a lot. I feel more comfortable carving and running over things with the wheels. That also means you’ll have to get a belt motor one lol.

    • @karenzhang1020
      @karenzhang1020 4 года назад

      Make sense. The only thing is belt drive requires more maintenance than hub motor. And it’s louder. But if you ride on the street you don’t need to be quiet anyway. Lol

    • @karenzhang1020
      @karenzhang1020 3 года назад +2

      @@jonthestreet Now they have cloud donut wheels. So even if you have the hub version of the Exway you can still change the wheels if you want. Yay! 😄

      Can u please tell... I thought hub was better and durable than belt..

    • @bryanjohnson8162

      5th electric board and driving them for 3 years now and I've had every type. The hub motors are rough ride and that's what everyone will tell you. Belt drives would be good if you didn't have to replace the belts. Direct drive gives you no bells to change it allows you the full wheel more cushion.
