She has a wonderful Western Ukrainian accent. Love it, simply love it. Eastern and Central Ukrainian accents just don't have the same feel for me, I guess. I'm from Eastern Ukraine, by the way.
Hope you're staying safe with the Russians attacking. Explosions and gunfire everywhere and they are trying to kill the president I heard. Really, really crazy stuff going on there.
Vera Farmiga has an accent of course but she speaks Ukrainian very good. She is an amazing actress Taissa not falling behind of course they both are great and as Vera, Taissa has remarkable career
woow these scene are awesome, thank you so much! And I even think that she has no accent when she speaks Ukrainian! I'm half Polish, half German, currantly living in Poland, I don't know Ukrainian but the pronounsiation is very similar to Polish so I pretty much know her Ukr. is perfect.
Ось як це все ж таки по-нашому: замість того, щоб потішитися за прекрасну українку, що досягла такого успіху, розвели абсолютно беззмістовну дискусію про акценти. Казна що.
Ananda D'Aquino, so? Being into her roots or not, she’s an American of Ukrainian origin. Being “classy” could stem from her ballet roots. Ukrainian origin don’t automatically give you classy look! Also, how do you label “light blue eyes” as non-American? What color is American eyes? :) Most of the US and Canadian population are originally from other countries. If we follow your logic, besides Vera all of us here, except for Native Americans (Indians), would look like non-American. I also know how Brazilian understanding of immigration works. I have many friends there and you’re an excellent example of how they view the “origins” :-) “She’s Portuguese”, “He’s German”, “She’s Italian”, “He’s Japanese”, etc. it’s ALWAYS outlined.
Vera is Beautiful...And also, of course, first of all we are all people and we have to share all universal human values, all human rights and freedom of personality and so on., but there are also varieties of our life in different forms, including ethno-cultural diversity, and it's beautiful in common sense, without radicalism, nationalism and similar fanatical manifestations, which also means that when you hear Ukrainian folk music and then you hear Irish folk music, then you hear and see ethno-cultural diversity, and not a same thing and it's great, I love all these European ethno cultural diversity, as well as in general the ethno-cultural diversity of this planet and same time with Universal human values. Just in case, from my mom's side I am Slav, Ukrainian and from my father's side I am Georgian(Iberian) and I like both sides, but again, in common sense...
@Aikosar People like me?Uhmm im european....I was born in Ternopil, Ukraine.I moves the U.S when i was 7. I am fluent in Ukrainian and i go there every year to see my grandparents/relatives. HOw am i posing to be European? She went to the same Ukrainian Catholic School as i did in Newark, NJ.

It is a controversial point, you know. I would PERSONALLY state Ukrainians outside of West of Ukraine never spoke in such a strictly Polonized, Polish-influenced way that she does. It doesn't change the fact she is the one Ukraine must be proud of, however. Whichever variant she speaks, it sounds Ukrainian.
"She's a dancer... A romancer... I'm a capricorn and she's a cancer!" "When I saw her and she looked my way I was lonely... She's my only..." Paul Stanley No creepiness. Just admiration for her talent and her beauty. 🎬🎥
@Skresla It's not the diaspora language, it's how it used to sound before it was Sovietized into harsh sounding Russian. Maybe it sounds funny to you because it's less militant and more romantic.
В фильме Отступники она дважды за фильм демонстрирует фото своей американской героини в детстве. Но на фото типичная советская изба и советский велик. Вероятно это настоящее фото, когда возвращалась на родину.

She's been daily active on her instagram account sharing links about donations and support. Also posted a video of her playing Ukrainie's national anthem on piano! Love her genuine concern and love her ofc. Sanding my prayers to Ukraine🇺🇦 from Albania🇦🇱
@KatieDerry Katie, she could't move from Ukraine because there were the closed borders. Only Jewish people and diplomats could cross the border in the end of the 70s. Vera must have been born in the States
@andrewutsc listen, what you have just posted, does not make their accent sound more funny. They are still people with all their habits, pros and cons, I agree. But in Ukraine village and city have different mentality, in general. There are few exceptions in villages that are of urban mindset, and a lot of urban guys have village mindset. You have not lived there a single month. So you d better trust me. I spent there 19 years of my life. Village mindset in Ukraine is slavery and ignorance.
@@ysaaa_6721 It's not because she's only Ukrainian, it's not the main reason she knows Ukrainian, I'm Ukrainian, was born there and most of my blood is Ukrainian, but guess what- I don't know Ukrainian, at all, except of some basic words, because I didn't grow up there and moved country as a baby, since that no one talked to me in Ukrainian, my parents talked to me in Russian, my point is that not every Ukrainian knows Ukrainian language, I'm a living example
I love Vera Farmiga! She's a great actress from a proud Ukrainian family!

Yes she comes across like a relative.

So she is, her mother side is from Debaltseve, don't know about the father side.
Most of Ukrainian Canadians were from Western Ukraine, so others probably picked the common way to speak in Ukrainian Canadian community anyway…

First time I saw her I thought: this woman is not American, she has such light eyes like eastern european and she is so classy...
America (almost entirely) is made up of immigrants. So, your assumption of “her eyes are so light, she can’t be American” is pretty dumb!
Bright Minds really? I am Brazilian. I really know how an immigrat country works. But she is very into much her ukranian roots.
Ananda D'Aquino, so? Being into her roots or not, she’s an American of Ukrainian origin. Being “classy” could stem from her ballet roots. Ukrainian origin don’t automatically give you classy look! Ananda D'Aquino, what about temper? How different is let’s say Gwyneth Paltrow’s temper from Vera’s?
Just a little fact.. The name of the song she is dancing to is Who Stole The Kishka..
Damn Paul can play anything at any time. WOW!
Jeremy Why i know, amazing. It sounded so beautiful with the drums, i wish they had played longer, lol.
