- The time has come to put all the parts back together.
Our Unimog 404 gets a new clutch, axles, and more.
Hopefully after this the Mog will be able to continue her adventure for many years.

Hey you two Lunatics. MERRY XMAS from Canada. One major thing that I learned from your videos, is the part about putting "Chocklate Sprinkles" on the drive train to sweeten it up. I also notice that you have the proper beverage in hand, just to make it all civilized. Good Stuff & Good Luck 2021.

I used a tie wrap as a dipstick, the side plug was too difficult for me.

you replaced the gearbox so You could grind of that special tool from the other gearbox :) Like I did :D I even welded a 1/2 socket on it :)
I might want to rebuild the old gearbox in the futere, so i like to keep it in mostly one piece for now :P
If it would be scraped that would be a great idea!

Why didn’t they install OM 606 engine in the Unimog?
because the original engine for this 404.1 is the M180, and we like things original😁
Very likeable! But after you stripped it down, why didn't make you some rennovations? Would look much prettier than. Is this 404's engine already a M130 or still a M180? (Mine is from '55 with short wheel base.)
it's an rebuilt m180 only 2 years old. all the metal work etc. was also done 2years ago. it's because of the mistake in the mud we needed to re-do the clutch, gearbox and axles.
@@ArmyTruckTom Ah, ok. I thought it was the engine from the later version since your 404 is from '72.
@@Superleicht_R107 nope it came whit the m180. would be nice if it was the m130 and have a bit more power, but i like to keep it original so i kept it. the rebuild engine has enough power to get her up to 90km/u
why my 1968 404 have dual carburetors
you might have a very rear version of the 404 with the m130 engine.
and this means it has 110bhp instead of the standard 82bhp.
