Love this - thanks 🙏 I am a 65 yr grandma - have played since Morrowind and been hooked since. I have played Skyrim from the first day it came out - and still playing it just yesterday!!!!
@@chryslunsford73 Well while Skyrim is up there and I love RPGs and spent years playing all the Baldur's Gate & Neverwinter Nights games, I still occasionally play some Sim City 4 but I would have to say that my favorite and most consistent gameplay has been with the Gran Turismo series through the various Playstation consoles.
I picked Survival mode when prompted at the beginning of my first playthrough, because I didn’t know anything about the game and had to choose at random. For weeks of playing, my Skyrim gameplay was as a nearly-homeless hobo with virtually nothing to my name, living out of inns. Catching fish was my main source of survival, and my motivation to explore the world the necessity of finding a more permanent residence than the inns which I could barely afford to stay at. I thought that was just the sort of game Skyrim is, so imagine my surprise when I finally eventually stumbled my way into the main story. My character rose to the title of Dragonborn while still squatting in an abandoned lighthouse stuck in the middle of the frozen tundra. It was such a rewarding way to experience Skyrim for the first time, I’m so glad in retrospect that I was clueless enough to pick Survival mode.
going blind into games is ofThat sounds awesome. its kina how i play most of my games, and i rarely finish the first dragon quest that starts dragons spawning, thanks to alternate start mod and ordinator. there are a few other staples i always have. But what makes skyrim good, by itself and a good base for modding is that theres so many hidden stories, interactions and lore, and some seem insignificant, but then it leads you somewher to get something, and that the place you enter has its own stories and lore, that both is seperate and kinda tied into the first quest. sometime you just find stumble upon something that sets you on a quest around around the whole of skyrim, and it fits so well into some playstyles. i didnt really care much for the lore when i started, but the more i play the more i enjoy the lil stories i discover, even after 3k hours of skyrim
Hi new sub here, I just wanted to mention that garlic should be grabbed when ever possible as well as bread and butter, as it makes garlic bread , that cures all diseases and ways so much less then cure pots, plus it would be handy to not have to pay for cures in the temples, plus veg soup is a great food to carry with you , I am playing on survival at the minuet , very tough , but great fun , great vid , looking forward to more
Ah yeah garlic bread! I spoke about that on a recent video I did on tips, very handy for survival mode. My plan now we are in whiterun will be to tick off the smaller things in whiterun you can do that give you access to a load of free veg, and then make soup and stuff to then take on the next quests like the dragon, greybeards etc. I think I'll start episode 2 quickly doing that
For combating diseases in survival, the most useful tool at your disposal is hawk feathers. They are an ingredient with almost no carry weight and have cure disease as the first effect, meaning that you can gain this just by eating the feathers 👌
Absolutely wonderful stuff, your voice is honestly made for this long form letsplays like this. Can't wait to see more as I really enjoy putting these kinds of videos on in the background while I do work.
Thank you very much I'm glad you enjoyed it! I started working on a build guide that has been requested a few times last night but I'll get episode 2 of this done ASAP 😁👍
Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it 😁 working on a requested build guide currently which I started last night, will get episode 2 of this done as soon as I can 😁
Just started a survival mode myself with a dunmer and this video was great to keep me hyped up to continue it. Definitely subbing and checking out more content
Some small tips around Whiterun: - At 1:56:50, you asked Hulda to rent a room. Just behind her, you will see a mammoth tusk above the cabinet by the wall. It's easy to sneak there to grab the mammoth tusk to give to Ysolda. - Once you help Carlotta, you can take ALL the produce from her stall: tomatoes, leeks, potatoes, and garlic. In survival mode, all this can be beneficial for making vegetable (and other) soups. - Once you bring the frost salts to Arcadia, you will then be able to take most everything that is seen in her store. 90% of the items will no longer be red and illegal to take. The same thing happens for Lucan after you bring them the Golden Claw. Thanks!
Love that even now there's stuff I'm finding for the first time. I found a new quest just before Christmas I'd never done before, was like an early present haha 😂
I really enjoy that there isn't swearing like a sailor in your videos. I want to enjoy video games without hearing the f word and GD over and over. Great video, can't wait to watch part 2. Wholesome, good content. Keep up the great work !
Thank you I'm glad you are enjoying it 😁. Its a conscious decision on my part to not swear whilst filming. Just don't think it's needed and content creators have to rate all their videos before posting if you want to earn ad revenue. One of the factors you rate your video on is bad language so it means I can keep it at the lowest 😁. I hope you enjoy the rest of the series. We've just finished the main questline in episode 8. Anyone subscribed can currently vote on what they want me to do next in one of my latest community posts. I'm out the country currently but when I'm back next week we will be picking this up again 👍
I've been waiting for one of these. Pity you didn't grab a torch or two from Embershard mine. They add +50 Warmth while they last. As for the Fur Helm, there are a few places I know of that should have one. The closest is the overlook/watch just east of Helgen. There's a North and South Side (great place for hanging moss and Jazbay grapes). It's where you go to perform the destruction Ritual for Frost. Grab all the salt and garlic when possible. Tomatoes and Leeks are your friend, especially for warrior builds. Good luck! I confirmed the other 2 places for a Fur Helm is White River Watch and the Dainty Sload. No bandits wears them.
I have played like 30 different characters in Skyrim but only ever saw the intro maybe 10 times. Alternate Start - Live another Life is such a nice mod. :)
@@mike-thegamingdad - It's actually quite great and there are additional plugins - nice if you want to start out as a vampire, vampire lord or werewolf. One hint, though, which threw me off a tad initially: Since you have NOT been to Helgen (unless you choose vanilla start) you don't know about the dragon and Whiterun isn't Whiterun but an identical cell where some NPCs have altered behaviour. Once you have been to Helgen and seen the carnage the fake Whiterun is removed the "real" Whiterun is added (hence it will disappear from your map because you haven't been to "real" Whiterun yet. The quest for the Bow of Shadows (?) can be started in fake Whiterun but needs to be completed in "real" Whiterun. The assassin never shows up in fake Whiterun since the "Jarl is occupied". So if one wants to play around that bow with alternate start, a visit to Helgen is a must to spawn the "real" Whiterun.
I’m loving the survival mode… I’m literally playing Skyrim and listening to your game play 😂 I’m such a nerd for Skyrim! I’m loving your content keep making your let’s play!
Hey just started watching and on the question of those 'rock warbler eggs'.... I have played through the opening tutorial more times than I can count and I am one who checks absolutely everything (ESP when I first was playing 11 years ago.... LOL almost OCD in my thoroughness) and I don't think I have ever seen those eggs because I definitely would have picked them up every single time.....
Started a character for survival mode 2 days ago. Loving it. I'm enjoying having to think things through. Your survival tips video really helped! I appreciate all you put out there for us. Thank you.
Thank you very much and I'm glad you are enjoying survival mode 😁 it's definitely a more interesting way to play, makes you plan a lot more than normal
@@mike-thegamingdad I'm enjoying thinking through each time I head out. Can't just rush through a quest. I turned on survival with a character I already had and felt I was kinda cheating so started fresh with survival right out of Helgen.
@@mike-thegamingdad I didn't mean your guides in particular, just when ever I have tried to follow any build guides 🤔. I've just deleted all my previous characters so I could start again after not playing Skyrim for a good few weeks. Never gets old 😀. Keep up the good work. Will definitely try and use your build guides again.
@tattyman4191 yeah what you might find is the enemies in the middle stages of following the build will get tougher, if, the early stages focus on non combat skills etc. As what will inevitably happen is your character may jump from level 10 to level 25 if you get your alchemy/smithing/enchanting done. So the enemies in the game also level up, but you yourself haven't changed your combat experience, weapon grade or armor rating over that period. Most of the time I make a point of getting early levels in combat during the helgen caves as a way of combating that. But I might have done a build that doesn't do that I can't remember. If so, it's good practice to make sure you aren't leaving yourself open to harder attacks though and do some combat levelling 👍🏻😊
Hey man, I just found your channel and I love the way you play, you really have a similar play style and feel for the game to me. We even think similarly and it’s so refreshing to me! 42:15 around here you start talking about the little stories and things you find, that bit of world building that isn’t a quest or something to keep track of, just that bit of story telling you stumble across and put together yourself. I love that stuff too, you hit the nail on the head for me. 2+2, not 4. Telling the players without giving them the answers, letting them work it out for themselves and finding all those cool and interesting little details and tidbits!
Hi there! Sorry I haven't responded to your comment, for some reason it wasn't one I got notified you had posted, so it got lost in the ether and I've only just noticed it now! I'm glad that you enjoyed this episode! Have you managed to watch any more of the Let's Play? We finished the main questline at the end of episode 8, 9 and 10 are the start of the new DLC, whereby the winner of the vote on what we should do next is the Dawnguard DLC, which should be fun! Yeah that's the best part for me, any RPG game that successfully implements that I end up falling in love with. Every player will experience the game slightly differently
@@mike-thegamingdad No problem at all! Just got stuck into the Dawnguard stuff, enjoying it quite a lot and appreciate the effort and uploads. Keep trucking along mate! :)
There is another hidden chest in the word wall room of Bleak Falls Sanctum. As you are going from the boss fight to the exit, there are two waterfalls. It is behind the right hand waterfall. It can be hard to see sometimes.
TIP FOR SURVIVAL: as soon as you but Riverwood, check all the barrels in town; gather Tomatoes, Potatoes, Leeks & Cabbage to make Vegetable Soup. You can also harvest the local crops for more of everything but tomatoes.
@@mike-thegamingdadWhen I am on survival mode, I try to take the carriage to Riften, with a minor healing potion in my inventory, then find Wujeeta on the docks, get her quest to give her the potion and then you can loot all the barrels on the docks and get around 50 salt piles, plus a lot of salmon meat which is good for staying fed, and they don’t weigh much…☺️😉
Just found your channel, Great stuff you are doing. And to answer your first question, to be honest, probably 56 times (and a one from goat simulator 3).
I'm doing my first-ever survival mode right now and I didn't realize once you get out of Helgen they cut your carry weight in half. My stubborn ass refused to drop all the stuff I'd collected to sell, so I just slow-walked it all the way to Riverwood. It took wayyyyy longer than I thought it would. Hadvar started off politely looking back to see if I was okay, but eventually abandoned me. By the time I got there it was midnight.
No problem at all glad you found it useful! Yeah I prefer that way to alchemy/enchanting looping than the restoration potion glitch. Way more stable lol
@@kevlyon hey yeah the first few guides I did, I played through completely, as in farmed every ingredient, did every level up, had to get every rare ingredient myself lol. I never knew about console commands but discovered them a few months back and it made some things a LOT quicker to pull together thankfully 🤣. Thanks for the tip though 😁
You’ve inspired me to try this. I chose Khajiit because I’m a crazy cat lady.. 😊 I watched your tips videos before starting your let’s play and they were great! Thanks!
this is a fun video! i havent tried survival mode and this looks interesting, i may give it a shot! also, in future episodes of this, do you think you could turn on skyrim subtitles?
Note - in the first word wall chamber - the draugher uses the dragon shout for disarming (i.e. drop weapons) - that's why Faendl left without his bow. You need to take the hunting bow from the chest next to the sarcophagus to give him another one otherwise he has no bow until you return to Riverwood.
@@mike-thegamingdad Yup - I only noticed a few play-throughs back because it used it on me and I lost the bow I was using - took ages to find it in the shadows at the cave edge.
@Gazbeard yeah the draugr you fight inside dimhollpw crypt did the same to me on a playthroughand I couldn't find it. It was in the large stadium like structure with all the steps, it flew off down towards the bottom. Spent so long trying to find it 😫
@@mike-thegamingdadFYI, if you have good sneak perks picked, you can actually sneak through the rest of Dimhollow after you get Serana, and you don’t have to fight anyone, and you can still get the word wall and loot the large chest behind the main draugr, I have done it that way many times ☺️😉..Serana always pops out with me outside☺️
I watched the intro probably 50+ times 😅 I just downloaded the Anniversary Edition and started survival mode about a week ago I think warmth and no fast travel are the most annoying thing sofar 😅
01:09:40 If you get the Dragonstone before going to Whiterun you'll be missing out on the unique book that Delphine will place on the table of Farengar because she wouldn't be there if Faendal wouldn't have given you the quest to get the Dragonstone.
@@mike-thegamingdad I don't remember. I tried to Google it, but I didn't find anything under 'Delphine dragon book' or related terms. The book itself names the locations of all the Dragon burials, or all important named dragons I thought. Anyway, I found out it was unique a couple of years back since it was the only book that was missing in the Legacy of the Dragonborn library mod that I played at that time.
Delphine placing a book on the table of Faendl because Faendl gave you the quest to get the Dragonstone? That doesn't make sense - Farandar gives you the quest not Faendl, and Delphine is the co-owner of the Inn in Riverwood, not the housecarl of Jarl Balgruuf in Whiterun - that's Irileth.
Just started my own survival and picked orc (just by luck rather than planning) enjoying the challenge . It feels immersive , there is a point now to finding food or wearing fur to keep warm whereas before they didn’t really have that much meaning/ benefit.
Yeah thats true, I've recently done a tips video for survival mode if you are interested, posted it a few weeks ago. The comments are good as well some people have shared some excellent ones. Good choice with the orc a very solid race 😁
This is what I end up doing. Get into the game again with a few mods then stop. I last started survival on max difficulty. Need to go again vanilla style with the CC stuff.
There is nothing more exciting than starting a new game! I am in the middle of my 40th game, and plan to play my 41st game on survival mode,,which I do about every three games or so…more challenging, but I love it… I am on the PS4…and I was able to find many mods to help me thru wandering and enhanced my cities….especially mod homes which I scattered all over Skyrim for my survival mode games☺️
Nice thats awesome! Glad the game is still as exciting now! I'm really enjoying this survival mode playthrough. Currently on episode 20, temporarily on hold just while I get my teeth into Starfield but the plan next is to tackle the Daedric quests 😁
@@mike-thegamingdadvery cool.. another tip if no one has said, but mixing garlic with juniper berries makes a regenerate health potion which helps tremendously on survival mode since our health doesn’t regenerate naturally ☺️😉
Just picked up anniversary edition for my 30th birthday yesterday and playing through for the first time since 2012 on survival. im playing on master diffuculty with a conjurer/alteration build. but on survival I think im gonna go with an orc or wood elf.
Do you play this with the unofficial patch installed? If so, then you do need the compatibility patch between the unofficial patch and the unoficial patch that supports the creation club mods.
I generally like the survival mode but I think the world needs more carriages. Like I get maybe a dude would not be stationed at winter hold but outside game mechanics the idea and can't tell the driver here's 50GP wait here 3 days in winter hold and I'll pay you to take me somewhere else when im ready. There is a mod for that, but... with the mod list i got going its not working.
Yeah that would be good, or ones that travel around, so if you run into them on the road you then get an option for them to take you to a settlement. That would synergise well with survival mode I think where you can't fast travel but if you find one of those carriages it's an option to do so
Also, you can ask Faendal to train you in Archery (to level 50), and pay him for the training. Then trade stuff with him to take your money back. Rinse and repeat. You'll have 50 archery, for free, and more perks you can use in archery/sneak/light armor.
Always join the companions on survival .. at least until you get Beast form .. huge life saver if far from shelter, freezing, over imcombered. ... any of that swap to beast and run ... alot more stamina, speed, carry weight, cold resist(still effects but much slower rate)
i know there is a mod that's called ''Rebuild Helgen''. You get a quest with some tasks etc i ain't spoiling. It's pretty interesting as well, you should check it out sometime,
Catching up on comments this morning and hadn't noticed yours, thanks for the info I did wonder if there was a mod for fixing Helgen up! Sounds like my kind of mod that so may check it out some time 😁👍
If you don't give the claw back to Lucan (or simply not do his quest), he will never close, so you always have a merchant open for business. Also, you missed the chest behind the thick weds just before you turn to fight the spider. Anice can be killed and her home taken over, just don't store anything in the barrels above ground. There is an emchanting table and alchemy station in the basement with even more storage. Just an fyi.
@stormym5434 haha yeah I've seen him run into the trap as well, very amusing! I can't remember the name of the quest, but its the one where you go off with Mercer Frey north of Windhelm as part of the thieves guild questline. He has a line of dialogue where he says "be careful not to step on any booby traps" or something, immediately after that he took one of those spike doors to the face and fell to his knees 😅 it's a moment I've wished I was recording for ever since. Would have made an incredible short
Ironically thoufh, I let the channel vote on whether we should side with the Stormcloaks or Imperials way way later down the line in this, and the vote was to side with the Empire 🤦🏻♂️😂
@@mike-thegamingdad Cause the imperials are the true sons and daugthers of skyrim. the stormcloaks are just a bunch of diva drama queens. "I want my talos worship openly and I want it now! wah wah wah!"
Holy Crap! Finally, an intelligent "Let's Play" without some idiot who chooses to go with the guy that was going to chop their head off. Arguments can be made for joining the Imperials later, but never at the start, and yet most of the "Let's Play" videos on RUclips go with Hadvar. I usually stop watching them as soon as I see that. Looking forward to this one though.
Haha thank you, yeah it's incredibly rare I ever go with Hadvar. I hope you enjoy the let's play, episodes 1-8 are the main campaign. Then I let subscribers vote on what next and Dawnguard won so 9-16 are that DLC. I'll be filming the next one this week and it's the Dragonborn DLC up next!
@seanbarraclough2484 that must have been someone else, my kids watch Minecraft a lot on YT Kids but I've never played it myself 😅 hope you enjoy this series!
Hi yeah I'll do the main questline first up to Alduin in Sovngarde, and then I'll post community polls where subscribers can vote on what they want next 😁
I play Survival Mode picking up reagents very selectively. For disease stuff you want mudcrab chitin, vampire dust, charred skeever to make your own cure disease potions. Odds are those vamps gave you the disease in the first place so there is some poetic justice in Tamriel after all.
why don’t you go inside anises cabin and get the alchemy stuff? and like, free home ? with enchant table AND alchemy lab? better than breeze home minus the storage situation
It's a good early free location definitely, it's just not one I normally use. Lack of storage for me is usually an issue. Granted its funny when you get attacked afterwards by thugs sent by her sister 😂
Just started watching, I hope you stick to your race only skills 🤞 No enchanting, or alchemy or magic And healing only via potions and sleep. No lock picks, or archery Either. Just a light armour wearing very shouty , one handed and shield warrior or two handed maniac. Oh, and join the storm cloaks and be a jerk to non nords where possible. Only nord followers. A true, true nord.
Haha jeez 🤣 im not doing very well then lol. I think I've already broken that on a few fronts. Definitely picked a few locks, using archery, faendal is my current follower. Although he usually gets binned off quite early 😂
@@mike-thegamingdad a milk drinker like you could use the help 😂😂😂 What about being a werewolf? I’ve never tried it for survival. I imagine it’s a massive boon.
@@christinaedwards5084 oh yeah definitely. My plan after the main questline is to hold polls so subs can vote on what we do next and I'll definitely throw the companions in there as an option 😁
What difficulty are you playing this series on? I apologize if it was stated already. But you’re inspiring to me to finally try both anniversary edition and survival mode.
So we are start off on adept, it stays on adept for a while but as we progress it moves up to expert and then master. We may end up on legendary eventually 😅 That's awesome I'm glad 😁🙌🏼
Skyrim noob here. Playing survival mode straight off the bat. Only have 150 carry capacity but I see you have 300. What did I do wrong? I’m guessing it reduces based on the weight of armour??
Hey whereabouts in the video do I have 300, is it at the start before leaving the cave? If so that's normal, everyone does until selecting survival mode which drops it to 150 (300 is what it is in the normal version of the game). I'm trying to recall this video but I remember getting the carry weight up to 225 by getting hold of a backpack in riverwood.
That makes sense. Yeah at the beginning you have 300, then I see 150 then 225. I didn’t realise you could get additional carrying capacity by getting a backpack. Thanks for the swift response and thanks for the video
@@PSGamerDad-zj9ep ah no! You can upgrade if you wanted to, I cant remember how much the AE upgrade was but it wasn't that much over new year, might have only been around 9.99. Or alternately the 'Backpacks of Skyrim' add on is available on creation club if you did want it. You can purchase all the new bits individually on there, so if you only wanted 1 or 2 that would be cheaper, but better just to upgrade I think.
Probably mostly 'Bolton', that's the town I was born in and lived in till I was 18. I say the town rather than the area as regional dialects are quite strong in the north of England and you only have to move from one town to another and it can sound totally different. Bolton sits on the edge of 2 counties, Greater Manchester and Lancashire, but people from Bolton sound nothing like a 'Manc' or 'Lancastrian' accent 😅. I've moved around a fair bit in the last 15 years though so it's not as strong as it once was. Definitely a northern English accent though 😁
@@mike-thegamingdad Interesting! And yeah, accents in England is like a melting pot. Massively diverse and some can be really difficult to understand 😂.

I'm sure your doing fine. I watched the survival episode waiting for your fallout 4 episode which I'm really enjoying
Many thanks! Do you think you got that expensive staff because you're playing in survival mode? I'm also a longtime player, and just starting with survival mode. If survival mode is tougher than vanilla legendary, then wouldn't it make sense you're getting better stuff at level 1? 🤷♂
Yeah it could be, I don't know much about drop rates in survival mode vs normal. That staff did seem quite powerful for such an early level, I've certainly never seen it before
@@mike-thegamingdad I just started a new survival playthrough on "Adept", and got a staff of ice spikes in the exact same chest. Seems pretty strong for a 1st level character, but I wonder how much more stuff we'll find as we go along. Thanks!

Some small tips around Whiterun:
- At 1:56:50, you asked Hulda to rent a room. Just behind her, you will see a mammoth tusk above the cabinet by the wall. It's easy to sneak there to grab the mammoth tusk to give to Ysolda.

Thanks for the tips thats great! :)
I have played like 30 different characters in Skyrim but only ever saw the intro maybe 10 times. Alternate Start - Live another Life is such a nice mod. :)
Yeah thats a mod I wouldn't mind checking out at some point 😁
@@haraldschuster3067 ah thats excellent thanks for the heads up appreciate it 😁👍

Helgen Reborn is a great mod. You work through to rebuild the village with various missions.
Nice I like the sound of that! 😁
You can also fish in Embershard Mine ... got lucky and quite a good ring from there among the fish. The bucket is near the forge.
Nice hadn't noticed that spot before!
You can read the notes that are given to you by both Sven and Faendal when they're in your inventory.

@LukyAe thanks a lot 😁 hope you enjoy this series, it went on for quite a long time, we did most if not all of the main questline stuff in the end 😁🙌🏼
Yeah ive always missed them, I've seen a few comments now confirming they are there. Good that I can find new stuff even now after so much time 🤣

Just started to watch your survival mode playlist again😊. I enjoy your build guides but when ever I copy those, always encounter super hard enemies 😮
Thanks very much! Oh really do you have any examples? My builds I tend to stick to adept and then only flex the difficulty up when finished.
@@mike-thegamingdad cheers for that. Good advice. My current play through I'm just at whiterun, so early days.

Yeah that is very true, it makes travelling around Windhlem/Winterhold/Dawnstar a real hazard lol 🤣
I always make a save right when they ask me who I am... then that's how I skip that whole opening scene when making chars...
26:21 Fun Tip: if you wait for Ralof’s dialog to finish when choosing how to deal with the bear, you’ll receive a longbow & 12 arrows
There is another hidden chest in the word wall room of Bleak Falls Sanctum. As you are going from the boss fight to the exit, there are two waterfalls. It is behind the right hand waterfall. It can be hard to see sometimes.
Ah didn't know about that one thank you!
TIP FOR SURVIVAL: as soon as you but Riverwood, check all the barrels in town; gather Tomatoes, Potatoes, Leeks & Cabbage to make Vegetable Soup. You can also harvest the local crops for more of everything but tomatoes.
Meant say "hit Riverwood".
@Griezz yep, lots of the houses and inns contain tomatoes, think the bannered mare has quite a few in various bowls scattered around
@@mike-thegamingdadWhen I am on survival mode, I try to take the carriage to Riften, with a minor healing potion in my inventory, then find Wujeeta on the docks, get her quest to give her the potion and then you can loot all the barrels on the docks and get around 50 salt piles, plus a lot of salmon meat which is good for staying fed, and they don’t weigh much…☺️😉
@stormym5434 thats a good tip!, Yeah salmon steaks are one of the best food stuffs that isn't a soup due to the weight to health restoration ratio👍🏻
You can key bind the favorited weapons spells and potions.
If you add devine cities it adds waystops to the roads were you able to get water and stuff for survivor mode

@zacharysmith1032 thanks very much 😁
I'm doing my first-ever survival mode right now and I didn't realize once you get out of Helgen they cut your carry weight in half. My stubborn ass refused to drop all the stuff I'd collected to sell, so I just slow-walked it all the way to Riverwood.
It took wayyyyy longer than I thought it would. Hadvar started off politely looking back to see if I was okay, but eventually abandoned me. By the time I got there it was midnight.
haha this is amazing 😂👏
And btw thanks for pointing out the necromage bloodworm helm alchemy thing 🤣🤣 i did it about 6 times over made a helm than makes potions 886% stronger
No problem at all glad you found it useful! Yeah I prefer that way to alchemy/enchanting looping than the restoration potion glitch. Way more stable lol
Do you play on console or pc with controller ?
@@kevlyon used to be console for years, I bought a PC in July and moved onto that but I use a controller still

14:30 They're trying to get Ulfric in the ground before the the Thalmor messes it up.
Thanks for the tip I probably hadn't noticed the draugr made him drop his bow 😁

01:09:40 If you get the Dragonstone before going to Whiterun you'll be missing out on the unique book that Delphine will place on the table of Farengar because she wouldn't be there if Faendal wouldn't have given you the quest to get the Dragonstone.
Ah nice which book is that? I recall her being stooped over something on the desk but I don't think I've ever bothered to pick it up
@@mike-thegamingdad I don't remember.
@@Gazbeard I meant the table of Farengar indeed, in Dragonsreach. Good catch.

At the moment no, still playing completely vanilla, so expecting to hit a bug or two along the way haha
@@mike-thegamingdad Oh dear, good luck with that then. XD
That would synergise well with survival mode I think where you can't fast travel but if you find one of those carriages it's an option to do so
It is easy to tell which books give skill points and which do not. Look at the value. Books with a value under 50 do not give skill points.
Yeah thats true 😁👍🏻
Also, you can ask Faendal to train you in Archery (to level 50), and pay him for the training. Then trade stuff with him to take your money back. Rinse and repeat. You'll have 50 archery, for free, and more perks you can use in archery/sneak/light armor.
Glowing mushrooms? Smithing Potions :-)
Always join the companions on survival .. at least until you get Beast form .. huge life saver if far from shelter, freezing, over imcombered. ... any of that swap to beast and run ... alot more stamina, speed, carry weight, cold resist(still effects but much slower rate)
Nice thats a good tip 👍🏻
i know there is a mod that's called ''Rebuild Helgen''. You get a quest with some tasks etc i ain't spoiling. It's pretty interesting as well, you should check it out sometime,

If you don't give the claw back to Lucan (or simply not do his quest), he will never close, so you always have a merchant open for business. Also, you missed the chest behind the thick weds just before you turn to fight the spider. Anice can be killed and her home taken over, just don't store anything in the barrels above ground. What difficulty are you playing this series on? I apologize if it was stated already. But you’re inspiring to me to finally try both anniversary edition and survival mode.
So we are start off on adept, it stays on adept for a while but as we progress it moves up to expert and then master. We may end up on legendary eventually 😅
That's awesome I'm glad 😁🙌🏼
Watching again and you do mention the backpack is available in the anniversary edition but not in the special edition…..I’m on special 🤦♂️😂.
@@PSGamerDad-zj9ep ah no! You can upgrade if you wanted to, I cant remember how much the AE upgrade was but it wasn't that much over new year, might have only been around 9.99. You can purchase all the new bits individually on there, so if you only wanted 1 or 2 that would be cheaper, but better just to upgrade I think.
Thanks Mike. New sub here. Watched episode 2 just now too, looking forward to episode 3.
Hey Mike, what part of England is your accent??

Thanks!
So what exactly does Anniversary Edition come with when you get it?
Just wondering cause I've been thinking about playing this game and I can get the Anniversary Edition for twenty dollars.
So it has every Creation Club DLC that had been released up until the point of its release, as well as new previouslu unreleased Creations. Think it had over 70 new things such as locations quests, armor sets, weapons and so on. This link explains what it all is 👍🏻
