What a surprise! I never thought i'd see my favorite grumpy dunmer outside of tel uvirith and into skyrim! this is sure to be another legendary playthrough.
“in much the same way a sardine would struggle to comprehend the exquisite torture of being forced to fill in a tax return” Ok thats a great way to express the idea of a fate that in its full extent is incomprehensible to our lowly mortal selves.
I love seeing Fathis' fearless will to question and examine on display at the beginning of the adventure. I guess being a God will squeeze some of the fear of mortality out of you, even if you're busted back down to size after it all. How can someone who's supposed to be so loathsome become so likeable? You have a gift for crafting characters, Dave.
Incredible introduction... WOW... I seriously mean, that was movie quality, and probably the best I've ever seen in a RUclips series. Ironically, I've been rewatching your Fathis LP, and as soon as I saw the title in my feed... I knew Fathis had been resurrected (though, I didn't realise it was quite so literal !). Thank you for a lovely Christmas present, and all the Season's Best to you! :)
Very happy to see a new Long play from you. Even more happy to see the return of Fathis. I binge the entire Morrowind LP a little before you finished it. It's how I found your channel actually. Always love to see your RPing, cannot wait to see where this goes
I expect he tried to use a mod to remove all starting spells, but I've had mixed results with those on starter spells myself as well. Otherwise it'd have been Flames, Heal, and Sparks
He is baaaack! I honestly didn't expect a return to Fathis, much less Skyrim! I have really missed your RP let's plays and narrative intros, it's something I can always count to cheer me up. Wealth and fortune, outlander!
I got a new chair, a nice bottle of wine, a new pair of headphones, and some other neat things for our slightly early-scheduled christmas, and yet seeing more Fathis in my feed hits different as far as gifts go.
Sir Dave, you are my guilty pleasure (though not too guilty), and every time I come back to one of your playthrough, I am reminded how good of a storyteller you are.
Very excited to see Fathis back in action! The twist seems like an alternate timeline and explains why Fathis is weak and doesn't know about current events; I like it! It also looks like you have a bunch of mods I've never used. I'm not sure how I feel about the sounds mod, but that's just a minor personal preference, I guess. Now I'm off to rewatch the entire Morrowind playthrough!
This has been such a pleasant surprise, I virtually grew up with the Fathis let's play so I'm thrilled to see a new series with my favourite grumpy old man. Merry Christmas.
The narrative at the beginning is so good, it could have come from a Terry Pratchett novel. Excited to see Fathis back, the Morrowind playthrough is one of my favourite LP's of all time.
5:45 You know, this is a really cool way to do this. 11:02 Now it's really Fathis in Skyrim. 16:44 I love this. Fathis just analyzing the spectacle, because he knows he's safe. 22:12 Man, that's such a sight. 22:45 Oh, full enemy stats. Wasn't expecting that. 26:36 Ooooh, locational injuries, tasty. 33:54 I'd be confused if he didn't, really. 36:52 Oh, Fathis, you won't like that news. 37:19 Wow, Survival Mode is looking more and more like what I wanted out of survival mods... but all the other mods I like only exist for Oldrim. T.T 57:13 Not something I think I could manage. 1:01:05 That's easy to ignore. I still can't figure out what mod has a bugged texture in my Oldrim install. braziers outdoors occasionally have the ember texture stretch to infinity along a pixel or two wide beam, sometimes in multiple directions. Can't be asked to troubleshoot it too much, because it's random. 1:10:31 "By Telvanni standards"... yea, but that's Telvanni standards.
This is a surprise, but not an unwelcome one. I also really fucking LOVE the concept of having your old character return like this. That is really good story-telling.
This feels so poetic, Fathis was the only Elder Scrolls character other than Claudius who had a full arc, I would argue that he is your best character, followed closely by Sir Crumpington. If anyone deserves a second life it's him in my opinion.
... and here I was in the middle of doing my own "Eternal Champion playthrough" (Morrowind->Oblivion->Skyrim with the "same" character) and Dave brings back Fathis! Glorious!
Can just imagine Fathis quoting Kain's opening monologue from Blood Omen 2 "From the shards of tattered dreams I rose, unwilling. Tossed upon tides of pain that flowed and ebbed and left me searingly awake and more revoltingly... alive."
I've been watching you for so long now, and your ability to tell stories with great efficacy is always incredible. You inspire me to make characters with rich and diverse family lineages throughout the game series as well. I currently have a family line of Argonians that are playing through the three 3D games.
Ah, Fathis Ulven, you magnificent masterpiece, you know how to make an entrance - how I missed you! What a brilliant present I would never ask for but we got anyway. Thank you, Jingles! ❤
I don't know what I expected when I clicked on this video, but it FAR surpassed my expectations- I love this character, and am instantly hooked, looking forward to his adventure, instant sub! :)
"A prospective student, are you?" " STUDENT?! Do you know who I am?! I'll have you know I'm Archmagister of House Telvanni! Fah, calling me a mere "student" when I was casting high-level spells since before you were a gleam in your father's eye! No respect from the younger generation at all!"
Man, not only do we have the greatest Christmas gift of another roleplay in Skyrim, but a SEQUEL starring the grumpiest Telvanni we know and love. Looking forward to another great series and having the fear of crossbows etched into us once again.
This intro, with the superlative narrative details and the spectacular production quality, is just one example of why you are one of the few youtubers who I continue to follow closely as I get older. Well done indeed!
I'm much more a Morrowind fan. But it's *Dave* playing Skyrim, so thanks to his storytelling calibre and playstyle, I'm strapped in for the ride. Here we go!
Wait, what!? Fathis in Skyrim!? This... this will be the best thing since... I guess the original Fathis series? So far only watched the cinematic intro but boy am I hyped and ready! You, sir, are a legend.
Fathis is what made me give morrowind a second look. Now to see my favorite Jingles character in a brand new series on Christmas day? This must be a miracle.
only came across your channel today, I have to say the intro was the most entertaining I have seen in a long time, Fathis will get along famously with Neloth, the arrogant banter between them will be comedy gold, looking forward to the rest of the story 👍
Dave back to compulsively picking wildflowers is truly good for the heart. Thank you for another Skyrim let’s play. I’m already laughing throughout at the wonderful commentary ❤️
It took me more than a month to go back and watch from volume 2 to 5 of the original fathis let's play, but I am finally here to fully enjoy his return
Love what I've seen of the Morrowind multi-"season" series but man does Skyrim's more cinematic approach lend its self extremely well to your style of roleplay and story telling. This is going to be an amazing series!
yes ulven now returns ULVEN I MISSED YOU SO MUCH (i been waiting for so long his return i kept rewatching morrowind he was so good and i love how you progress him this long pls keep this up
That is quite the (not so) little intro section. You're really good at that stuff. 34 minutes to get out of the tutorial we've all played to death and I watched every second.
I broke into such a huge grin seeing this, I had no idea my putrid awful depression could get wings and fly away for just a second, but it did. This is gonna carry me through the day not even kidding lmfao.
And the Scrolls have foretold, of red eyes in the cold, that when brothers wage war come unfurled! Fathis Ulven, Bane of Gods, ancient shadow unbound, with a hunger to swallow the world!
What an amazing Christmas gift, I know this isn't Dave's favorite elder scrolls but it's the one I grew up and playing first and loving it alot, and seeing a character I really enjoyed from his long morrowind playthrough making a comeback like this is just so exciting to see, can't wait to sink myself into another immersive and appropriately comedic let's play.
He's here! We didn't expect to see him but here he is! Our grumpy boy! Returned to Tamriel! So excited for this new series and hoping to watch our terrible boy return to power once again.
What a surprise! I never thought i'd see my favorite grumpy dunmer outside of tel uvirith and into skyrim! this is sure to be another legendary playthrough.
For a second I asked myself where in Britain, Tel Uvirith was located. Somehow I just assumed Dave was an irl grumpy dunmer.
@@nesnahprotsdamit’s in Wales
Nah its tottenham🤣
@@CrystalHollowIt can't be in Wales, it's too pronouncable
I realize it’s many an episode away, but I can just imagine the meeting of Fathis and Neloth😂
your storytelling at the start of these longer form series is so enthralling and well done
I am your 100th like dear son.
dear daughter, but thanks!!@@PashaOCE
“in much the same way a sardine would struggle to comprehend the exquisite torture of being forced to fill in a tax return”
Ok thats a great way to express the idea of a fate that in its full extent is incomprehensible to our lowly mortal selves.
I never expected any form of sequel to any character we’ve had the pleasure of watching and getting to know this is a perfect Christmas gift
I love seeing Fathis' fearless will to question and examine on display at the beginning of the adventure. I guess being a God will squeeze some of the fear of mortality out of you, even if you're busted back down to size after it all. How can someone who's supposed to be so loathsome become so likeable? Okay I love the "character voice" Made me laugh and kept me watching.

This was an entirely unexpected but very welcome Christmas gift! Looking forward to this playthrough!
How wonderful it is to see Fathis again. I look forward to his new journey.
Very happy to see a new Long play from you. Even more happy to see the return of Fathis. I binge the entire Morrowind LP a little before you finished it. It's how I found your channel actually.
Always love to see your RPing, cannot wait to see where this goes
"Shor"
"DON'T GET ME STARTED ON BLOODY SHOR!!! THAT WANKER LORKHAN IS THE WHOLE REASON I'M IN THIS MESS!!"
What better way to spend my Christmas than with Tamriel's biggest Scrooge! Fathis is gonna have a miserable time and I'm all here for it.
Yessss I knew Santa was listening when I said I wanted a new Skyrim let's play by Sorcererdave for Christmas! Thanks Dave, Merry Christmas! 🎉❤
Dark elves start out with sparks, so that's mostly likely why you already had that spell.
I expect he tried to use a mod to remove all starting spells, but I've had mixed results with those on starter spells myself as well. Otherwise it'd have been Flames, Heal, and Sparks
@@gratuitouslurking8610 Just get a mod that allows you to Forget spells, You can just get rid of spells including starter spells.
He is baaaack! I honestly didn't expect a return to Fathis, much less Skyrim! I have really missed your RP let's plays and narrative intros, it's something I can always count to cheer me up. Wealth and fortune, outlander!
What a poetic (and excitingly intriguing) intro, seriously your writing only gets better and better! That was magic.
I got a new chair, a nice bottle of wine, a new pair of headphones, and some other neat things for our slightly early-scheduled christmas, and yet seeing more Fathis in my feed hits different as far as gifts go.
Sounds like the perfect setup to enjoy this then!

This was a wonderful Christmas Gift Jingles, much love to you and Colin!
Fathis's back! I didn't know I wanted it, but now I'm excited!
This has been such a pleasant surprise, I virtually grew up with the Fathis let's play so I'm thrilled to see a new series with my favourite grumpy old man. Merry Christmas.
I literally cried out for joy when I realized this series was going to follow Fathis. Looking forward to more.
The narrative at the beginning is so good, it could have come from a Terry Pratchett novel. Excited to see Fathis back, the Morrowind playthrough is one of my favourite LP's of all time.

Finished the Morrowind series again 😊 Now i can binge watch this one. Fathis is always appreciated 🎉
This is a surprise, but not an unwelcome one. I also really fucking LOVE the concept of having your old character return like this. That is really good story-telling.
Just found this channel via this video and my goodness I am happy as larry to follow Fathis's journey as I also revisit Skyrim with mods!!!
Great roleplay. I love this. It's just like a movie!!😎🥰😍😁
Oh fuck yes Dave! This is about to be the greatest series ever
With that opening, I cant help but imagine all the deadra held an intervention for Fathis before casting him down to Skyrim. 😂
This makes me so happy im laterally rewatching morowind lets play right now and this comes out?! This is going to be good
Phenomenal introduction! ‘A sardine comprehending the torture of submitting a tax return.’ is exquisitely Douglas Adams-esque
This feels so poetic, Fathis was the only Elder Scrolls character other than Claudius who had a full arc, I would argue that he is your best character, followed closely by Sir Crumpington. If anyone deserves a second life it's him in my opinion.
Idris #1
First time as an adult that I've woken up excited on Christmas morning. Thanks Dave!
... and here I was in the middle of doing my own "Eternal Champion playthrough" (Morrowind->Oblivion->Skyrim with the "same" character) and Dave brings back Fathis! Glorious!
Can just imagine Fathis quoting Kain's opening monologue from Blood Omen 2
"From the shards of tattered dreams I rose, unwilling. Tossed upon tides of pain that flowed and ebbed and left me searingly awake and more revoltingly... alive."
You put so much work into these intros, its always magnificently done
ITS BACK! And with Fathis of all characters! A beautiful Christmas gift Dave, thank you.
I've been watching you for so long now, and your ability to tell stories with great efficacy is always incredible. You inspire me to make characters with rich and diverse family lineages throughout the game series as well. I currently have a family line of Argonians that are playing through the three 3D games.
My GOD what an intro. I did not expect this! My god I’m extremely excited Dave! You never ever disappoint
Hyped for this playthrough to say the least!
"You're speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, the TRUE high king!"
".. Who??"🤨
Fathis is back! huzzah!
And "Ulven" is literally "The Wolf" in danish. Them nords might recognise that on some meta-level
"don't get me started on the BLOODY divines!"true that.
well blow me down with a racer plume, this is a shocking development welcome back Fathis old chap .
The amount of (truly blessed) lore you've put into your character trumps the entirety of effort Bethesda put into skyrim itself 😂❤
Ahhh you’ve taken me back to your Claudius let’s play with this. And mixed with Fathis?! I am ready. Take me on this new journey!
So i take a break from Sorcererdave and Skyrim for a few years, and a new Skyrim playthough is happening? DUDE
Ah, Fathis Ulven, you magnificent masterpiece, you know how to make an entrance - how I missed you! What a brilliant present I would never ask for but we got anyway. Thank you, Jingles! ❤
That was quite possibly one of the coolest openings to a skyrim lets-play I've ever seen. Bravo, sir.
I don't know what I expected when I clicked on this video, but it FAR surpassed my expectations- I love this character, and am instantly hooked, looking forward to his adventure, instant sub! :)
Oh I so look forward to this. Seeing as how I am not sure how long before Dave gets frustrated with Skyrim and moves on.
We've been waiting - faithfully - for your return to Skyrim, but for you to bring Fathis this way too? Sheer bliss!
"A prospective student, are you?"
" STUDENT?! Do you know who I am?! I'll have you know I'm Archmagister of House Telvanni! Fah, calling me a mere "student" when I was casting high-level spells since before you were a gleam in your father's eye! No respect from the younger generation at all!"

Mate ... The man himself is back 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ this was unexpected but extremely welcome.
Dave back to compulsively picking wildflowers is truly good for the heart.
Thank you for another Skyrim let’s play. I’m already laughing throughout at the wonderful commentary ❤️
I swear it's like every time I'm itching to play a certain game, you start a series of that game, love that you found a way to bring Fathis back.
It took me more than a month to go back and watch from volume 2 to 5 of the original fathis let's play, but I am finally here to fully enjoy his return
Brilliant voice-over characterization! Very funny! Look forward to watching this series! Cheers!
God bless you! I thought after Claudius you were done with skyrim for a lifetime:
You’ve come so far since Idris, what a great intro!
Great job Dave!
It would be very cool if Fathis could eventually explore some of the more deeplore involved quest mods like Vicn's VIGILANT/GLENMORIL/UNSLAAD/etc
Love what I've seen of the Morrowind multi-"season" series but man does Skyrim's more cinematic approach lend its self extremely well to your style of roleplay and story telling. This is going to be an amazing series!

WHAT? THIS IS SO CINEMATIC!!!! How has this not been seen????
Been watching this channel for a few years, but never commented until now. Your storytelling in these series is great. Merry Christmas, Dave!
Well, WE know who you are! And we are happy to see you back!
That was a fantastic introduction. I never thought Fathis would end up in Skyrim but you know what as explained makes perfect sense.
Now that my friends, is how you do an intro! Kick ass back story! An epic opening! And an on track story to get into! Well done sorc.
Oh my god Fathis AND another Skyrim LP it’s an ACTUAL Christmas miracle you cheeky sly dog lmfao
That intro... 🔥Seriously I could listen to you write a whole book like that. That was amazing.
"Hi Alduin, my is name Fathis, I know your dad!"
Such a lovely Christmas surprise! Have a good one, Dave
Yesssss! Excited to see the return of Fathis ^_^ your storytelling continues to get better and better over time, always a treat to listen to!
The hit of nostalgia this gave me! Can't wait to dig into this series.
That is probably the best start to a let's play I've every seen. Your storytelling is awesome.
Here I was, just rewatching the original Morrowind series, not knowing a sequel was coming up! Hell yes!
That is quite the (not so) little intro section. You're really good at that stuff.
34 minutes to get out of the tutorial we've all played to death and I watched every second.
I broke into such a huge grin seeing this, I had no idea my putrid awful depression could get wings and fly away for just a second, but it did. This is gonna carry me through the day not even kidding lmfao.
it's great to see the return of good old fathis :) thanks for this Dave!
Woah, I watched your Claudius Let’s Play over 10 years ago, fully through.
You can bet I’ll be here for the ride for this one aswell.
And the Scrolls have foretold, of red eyes in the cold, that when brothers wage war come unfurled!
Fathis Ulven, Bane of Gods, ancient shadow unbound, with a hunger to swallow the world!
A wonderful Christmas present, looking forward to this, thank you Dave !

The return of a legend! 😅
The very best Skyrim RUclipsr of all time returns!
What a great Christmas gift! I can imagine Fathis' reaction to Morrowind's destiny. Akatosh truly has a sense of humor it seems!
I've never been so happy seeing a new Skyrim playthrough pop in my feed. Merry Christmas! Thanks for the gift.
He's here! We didn't expect to see him but here he is! Our grumpy boy! Returned to Tamriel!
So excited for this new series and hoping to watch our terrible boy return to power once again.
