The spell costs 0 mana and summons an undying ghost (very inaptly named). The ghost will drain ALL your mana and will be as strong as that amount of mana. He's an absolute beast at low levels, one-shotting almost everyone and even later on, when his damage isn't so impressive anymore, he'll be a good to excellent tank - depending on the amount of mana you have. So - like the bound bow - he's a "must get" for my playthroughs. When you have a follower as well ... wowser. He cleared Fort Amol for me - the mages in the room with the bucket never got one shot off. He's really a great QoL feature early game. :)
Ah yeah I've come across that spell before, think I only used it one or two tea but will check it out 👍 might have made a difference when I got blasted by the Hargraven 😂

@@mike-thegamingdad I did not know that ! That is awesome ❤❤ Idk if you watch Camelworks but he did a video about Narfi and Reidya (? Idk if spelled it right) but it made me love Narfi even more !
Great episode. I admit, you left me speechless. I've never once scaled down from High Hrothgar. There's so much to do in Ivarstead, that I'm there for two or three game days while in survival. It's also a good place to dump the cultist bodies in the river since they don't despawn. The Fire Salts are worth their weight in gold when making the Hot soups. They help restore some of your warmth factor when you get to the very cold/freezing stage. While in Winterhold, I spend all my rubies, salt and petty soul gems (unfilled) to make fire salts in the Atronach forge for soups and my favorite potions. I did cringe when you bought the apprentice level spells when your character isn't mage centered. Voice of the Sky is great, but if you get a horse (or the immortal unicorn), it isn't protected like your follower is. The Daedric Horse and Arvak don't count as alive or dead, so animals will ignore them. Delphine is also exempt from its effects when you travel with her to Kynesgrove. So you're better off leaving her behind, she'll meet you there anyway. Good luck.
I would recommend completing the Namira deadric quest as soon as you can (the one in markarth where you have to clear a dungeon then lure a priest there) as the reward allows you to eat corpses which restores hunger without having to carry lots of food.
I'm really enjoying this series so far! Thank you 👍 You were mentioning new things you had found, even after all these years. After watching your video on those small side missions in Whiterun, I brought some firewood into the Bannered Mare and by chance I found the Bannered Mare Cellar... I've never seen that thing before in my life! It was rife with loot to be stolen. Really cool! Thanks again for the great series.
Thank you very much! We are 25 episodes in now so still going strong 😂. Once we did the main quest I let subs vote on what we did after that which was dawnguard, then dragonborn, we are now finding all the daedric items which is fun 😁. That's awesome about the cellar! 👍🏻 I love this game for that, such great detail in every aspect of it
Loving your playthroughs. I'm a fairly new player. Thistle the rabbit has been my constant companion on nearly my entire adventure on the Switch. No maintenance and invincible, it's nice to have a companion you don't have to worry about. There's also the tiny bonus that they're constantly finding herbs for you. Hilda the goat is much more useful and carries quite a bit, but gets in the way, so I only summon her when needed. The other "pets-that-carry-things" (and there are many) are personal preference or emergency storage options.
Excellent glad you are enjoying it 😁. Sounds like you have more experience with the pets of skyrim add on, I've only picked up a few of them and rarely bring them on my adventures, but it sounds like I should do in future 😁
Many thanks! To help speech, giving a gold piece to Lucia or Brenuin (beggars) will give you the gift of charity which helps speech. I don't think I ever had to fight Mikael. 😆 If you join the Companions, you will get a free bed there, too. Bringing the mammoth tusk to Ysolda and she will let you sleep there, too. In the Bannered Mare, the cabinet behind Hulda has a mammoth tusk on the top. You can just take it and give it to Ysolda. Usually, after leaving Riverwood (before Whiterun), I go say hi to Anise and check in her basement. It is a great place to store stuff until you can buy or own a real home. There is a bed there, too, though I'm not sure if you get the same "well rested" benefits in survival as regular Skyrim. Veggie soups are OP! If your stamina is down to nothing, one of these soups will let you power attack as much as you like for several minutes. Again, this isn't something I have seen, or thought of, in regular Skyrim. When Avenicci first questioned my character about being Dragonborn, I used Unrelenting Force on him. It wasn't a good idea. 😆 RE: Subtitles, I find they're strange sometimes. For example, my wife and I moved from NYC to Spain a couple of years ago, so I switched the game to be in Spanish. Sometimes, subtitles are still in English for some reason. 22:10 - My favorite follower, from the Wretching Netch in Raven Rock, is spell-sword Teldryn Sero. He has such a good voice and character, too. I'm trying Jenassa (in Whiterun) as a follower for the first time ever because of survival mode. 35:35 - Great tip about Salmon Roe! You can use Unrelenting Force in the water, too, to kill fish. 🐟 General question - with fast travel disabled, if you weren't doing this series for RUclips, would you be taking ALL the possible quests in each location? For example, in episode one, you mentioned the "Saints & Seducers" quest with the Khajit trader, and in this one, you didn't want to take the Iverstead haunted barrow quest. Normally, would you just take every quest, and get to them when you get to them? 🤷♂ In survival mode, do you think the "Voice of the Sky" perk would be a beneficial perk for non-archers? For hunting game, animals won't run away for 24 hours. Non-archers can walk up to an animal, one or two hit-them, and can get the fur for crafting. Good idea? 1:33:20 - After you drop off the frost salts at Arcadia's, you can take most of the items in her shop for free... just like you did from Carlotta's store. In my first attempt at survival mode I wanted to get Myrrwatch early in the game as a base. Because there are no carriages from Morthal, though, I couldn't really leave the city successfully. ☹ I started a new character (take two!), and I'm using Anise's Cabin, for now. I read that enchanting staves will level up enchanting much, much faster than using soul gems, so eventually, I'll try this method at Myrrwatch. I have been playing Skyrim since the beginning, as well, and I agree that survival mode is much more immersive! It really is a different game. Over the years, I played on the XBox 360, PS3, PS4, and now the Nintendo Switch. I've lost track of the number of hours/playthroughs, but my Switch says 900 hours in the past 2+ years or so. Enjoy! 👏
Thanks for sharing all your thoughts and tips! 👍 I think I covered a few of those tips in my 20 new tips video for newer players, although ive been tempted to do a follow up video to test as there were loads of great ones shared in the comments. With regards to quests, yeah I generally pick them all up if I see them / remember them, that way its easier to do a few things in one area rather than constant backwards and forwards. In this series I've been quite conscious of following a set path and not deviating too far from it and I didn't want to waste time picking up a ton of quests if I knew I wasn't going to do them. Once I've done this I'll be posting a poll whereby everyone can vote on which bit of the story they want me to do next For hunting game specifically, I would recommend the Kyne's Peace shout. Animals won't run away and you can kill them easily. Either that or the calm spell. Voice of the Sky is great if you want to not be attacked by animals, but as soon as you attack one, the effect is lost.
Haha 😂. I'd hoped to get this up a lot sooner but my last build took longer and then life has been a bit hectic since new year! Will hopefully get into a more steady rhythm with it soon 😁
@@mike-thegamingdad - That's the one big difference in "no fast travel" mode - I tend to not "map" dungeons when I discover them but do things when I am there. Just because going there with no fast travel is a pita. Then there is the reduced carry weight on the other hand ... sigh.
I’v gotten quite attached to my pet rabbit 😂! I leave him out in the vegetable garden at my Tundra Homestead and worry if I’m not back before dark so I can let him inside. This game mate it gets inside you.
I am really enjoying the series. I can't wait to see more. I personally would love to see the Dragon Born DLC as I miss the northern isle from Morrowind. I know I am late so I doubt this will make a difference to what the next couple vids are but that is fine. Let's go for episode 3! :D
Yeah that would be a good choice, I'll definitely put it to a vote once the main quest is done 😁. Episode 3 I have just finished filming actually as we speak, it's almost midnight here though so I'm going to get to bed, and then I'll edit this and get it uploaded tomorrow evening 😁
I know I’m late to the party! Started playing a month ago but started to rely too much on fast travel and ignored food! Started another profile on survival and I’m loving it so far! I’ve just acquired the golden hills plantation! I’ve got a steward in place and built animal pens. What crops would you recommend I plant for max profit and usefulness! I’m a 2 handed warrior with heavy armour (eventually!) with a bit archery on the side!
That's awesome! If you are wanting to make gold and level your alchemy quickly, then I would recommend planting Mora Tapinella, Fly Amanita and Dragons Tongue. Mora Tapinella can be gathered around Riverwood. Fly Amanita is in Embershard Mine which is also near Riverwood. Dragons Tongue is in the hot springs south of Windhelm. If you want to make potions to boost your combat damage (but won't level alchemy as quickly) then plant Juniper Berries and Canis Root for archery and it's just Fly Amanita and Dragons Tongue will do it for 2 handed on their own
47:52 You can combine the newly acquired hagraven claw with snowberries to make a fortify enchanting potion. I think it is worth mentioning because fortify enchanting isn't the first effect of the two ingredients, so you can't just eat them to figure that one out.
I nowadays play with survival mode on but with some mods because the normal survival mode has a few critical bugs/omissions, in my opinion. As most open world games, Skyrim runs a scale compactor and thus a different timescale to compensate and give the illusion of long travels by an accelerated passing of time. A modifier of x20 is quite hefty. Skyrim does not, though, differentiate between indoors and outdoors. So while the outdoor is a compressed landscape where accelerating time makes sense, the indoors are pretty much not compressed and close to "real life scale". You should therefore not need 2h to go to your basement, put something in a chest and walk back out. But you do. And that's where hunger and fatigue go nuts with the normal implementation. Try Labyrinthian and you'll see. Also way too many "inhabited" caves with no sleeping ability. So I run a mod that lowers the growth of needs (akin to selecting a lower timescale for indoors) and that has merchants in Dawnstar and Winterhold sell hot foods (where are you supposed to get so many fire salts to make them yourself, I wonder (Atronach forge, I know but not everyone knows these recipes). The last mod deals with the other glaring omission in the game: Transport with fast travel disabled. You can now also take a cart to the smaller holdings (like Ivarstead, Shor's Stone, etc.) and you have more ferrymen and ferry locations. Add in a better camping mod for gathering wood, making fires in the wild and be able to repack your tent and you have a package that WORKS and is not as much micro management as the default mode that is just not very well thought through. So you have to prepare, you can't go on endlessly, you'll need to pack special food and clothing way up north but it's much more enjoyable than the pure cc mod that seems to miss way too many things to make it enjoyable (liek different timescale for outdoors and indoors).
dude wonders why the old guys stay at the top of the mountain meditating then goes on saying why he loves it so much @ 1:19:00. It reminds me of why people do the same IRL, the view at the top of a mountain reminds people in a way that all is one, or we are all connected.
Just watching the second episode of your survival mode walkthrough. Really good so far. I'm a fan of ESO, but his channels got so many subs now, no chance of getting any interactions with him, comments etc. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for watching, really glad people are still finding it and enjoying it 😄. Yeah I'm a long time fan of ESO, he is actually my main inspiration for deciding to try making content myself last July. I've been following him for years, probably since about 2015, loved a lot of his guides and his Let's Play Series. He's always seemed quite down to earth, talks openly about his dyslexia etc. I thought if he can do it and be successful I'll give it a go myself. I try and release new stuff every week, whether it be an episode of this LP series, another Skyrim guide, or my Last Of Us walkthrough which I'm working on alongside this. I have to fit it around working full time, plus young kids, but I make it work just about 😅. I've just recorded another episode of this Skyrim Let's Play though so I'll probably get that up tomorrow night. We finished the main quest a few episodes ago and I held a poll on the channel to vote on what we do next and Dawnguard won, so that's what we are doing now 😁. Hope you continue enjoying the series and thanks for watching!
@@mike-thegamingdad That's definitely the longest reply to a comment I've ever had. Thanks for your time. Yeah, I like ESO channel, and he does seem like a nice genuine chap. And if he's able to make a decent living out of it, fair play to him. And I hope your channel keeps growing and doing well. Will be watching episode 3 of survival mode next 😀
@tattyman4191 no problem at all. I'd say I get between 10-15 comments a day on average. So at the moment I try and make sure I'm replying to most of them. I only really don't if it's just one word or someone is clearly trolling or its overly negative. I always liked the RUclipsrs who would respond and engage with people who watched their videos so I want to make sure I do the same. I'm hoping I'll reach a level where it won't be possible due to the volume, but until that's the case I'll do it 😁. That's awesome, thanks!
Really enjoying the speed and vibe of this playthrough style. I took the rabbit and later left it at the house you win in a fight to the death. Guess the rabbit owns the house now as I never go back there, fast travel would really help me get home more often, oh well.
Yeah I kind of wish I had taken the rabbit, if we were heading anywhere other than up the ten thousand steps I probably would have done! Need to go back for it eventually 🤣. Ah Hendraheim, one of my favourite newer homes that 👍. Episode 4 of this will be up later!
Hey for non survival do you think a dark elf 50% fire resistance is best for a vampire or Breton 25% magic resistance everyone says dark elf but people also say Breton best race so I’m not sure
Breton overall is definitely better but specifically for a vampire build I would probably go dark elf if it was me. Negating that fire damage synergises really well.
@@mike-thegamingdad thank you but if Bretons better overall wouldn’t it be better including negating the fire damage as fire is magic so magic resistance… I dunno lol
The UESP explains it thusly: magic resistance gives a bonus to your resistance from incoming hostile spells while fire resistance protects against ANY fire, e.g., spells, Dragon breath, burning oil, etc. Given that as a vampire, you're essentially a walking piece of kindling, a dunmer might be safest. You can always use enchants and alchemy to boost magic resistance (or spell absorption-you can make some truly crazy spell absorption potions from the Rare Curios ingredients...Comberry and Daedra Venin, if I recall correctly)
@@Jimmyinvictus yes but magic resistance does the same thing as dragon breath also counts as fire haha therefore protects from ANY fire frost or lightning attacks it’s just 25% less than dark elf early game until I get more magic resist which is fairly easy
😂 Good timing. You'd think after 10 years I'd know the controls, forever pressing equip weapon when I mean activate or opening the menu when I'm looking for the map 🤣
For Playstation: you know you can move the camera further away from yourself by pressing and holding L3 and moving R3 forward or back? The other platforms must have this as well.
Also, I think Become Ethereal is the best underrated shout. It allows you to survive EVERY fall. Next time you're on the roof of the Winterhold College, shout that just before you jump off the building. Or High Hrothgar. Just the first word works most of the time. If you jump off immediately you'll hit the ground unharmed.
Haha I went labaryhian last night I walked there, and wow it was tense. Not doing that again. I was freezing to death all while creeping past trolls haha
Never try to join the stormcloaks at level 7 on master difficulty as soon as you touch the see of ghost you start to freeze and lose health. Almost soft locked myself
One more thing with the hagraven camp is that.... I think.... after you have killed them all you can use their beds to camp! In case you need to rest for an hour so you can level up before heading over the mountain to Iverstead.... LOL just saying 😉
I believe a companion always stays behind in Dragonsreach while you fight your first dragon at the Western Watchtower. Also, Valtheim Keep = Valtheim Towers. It's pronounced Valt-heim (as in valentine dime).
Hey Mike. Loving the series. I am going to recommend 2 mods you should look into. Don't worry they don't fundamentally change the game. It's just quality of life mods. 1. SkyUI - seriously updates the in-game menu. looks much better IMHO. 2. The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch - It just fixes a ton of bugs and glitches like the 2 same cooked salmon thing. I can't play the game without these any more.
Thank you glad you are enjoying it 😁. Yeah I was aware of these two mods, at the moment I've been deliberately leaving USSEP off as I've been creating a few build guides, some of them requested, and it's a lot quicker to do without USSEP due to levelling exploits, such as using trainers to level and then taking your gold back etc. I know USSEP patches most of what you'd call 'exploits' doesn't it. I get a lot of Qs on how to do some of those things so it's easier just to say 'this video is completely modless' 🤣. I did have a go at making a build guide completely glitch free and I think it took me about 20 hours in game time plus editing vs about 8-10 hours using exploits 🤣. I will transition into mods eventually though when I've covered most of the things I want to / that have been requested. I've never actually ever tried Alternate Start yet which is mad considering I've been playing over a decade and that mod has been out for years.
When you died @42:30 to the hagraven ( hag - raven, not har - graven ; i.e. hybrid of an old hag and a raven ), this again demonstrates that you started the character as a mage at the start of episode 1, but then levelled it as a fighter/archer - the character's attributes and acquired skills are mis-matched. (Putting too many points into health and not enough into magicka). @1:37:00 Poison of Damage Magicka Regeneration is the #1 poison to put on bows when fighting dragons - both their ability to fly and their breath effect are magicka fuelled - pro-tip @1:53:30 Classic noob mistake - runs into battle without checking Lydia has caught up - LOL
Great episode 👍 I eaven learnd a new thing. I thought the free bed in Whiterun is the one you normaly buy for 10 gold 😅. I was wondering why it wasn‘t free after some time. A poisen I personally like is: Mora Tapinela, Impstool and Cainisroot. Paralyze and damage over time For what you should do next: I would recommend Companions or Dawnguard (as a vampire) Bouth forms give you immunity to diseases
I can't remember as far back as episode 2 now, did I say a higher armor rating would help me vs dragons breath? If so then yeah that is incorrect I was getting confused there. Armor rating is for physical damage only, magic resistance is for dragonsbreath
I prefer Survival mode. In my current play through I at level 63 and haven’t gone to Solitude yet. Just so much things to get done. It must be from influences growing up, my father was big into the Marx Brothers. So, when I hear the name Lydia, Groucho Marx singing “Lydia , the tattooed lady@ pops into my head. 😅 Don’t forget the training tomes in the Hall of the Dead, Belethor’s shop and Acadia’s Apothecary. I also use the mod “Immersive Jewelry “. It changes the weights of all ores and ingots. Steel is made with iron ore and charcoal (1 firewood = 4 charcoal) made in a smelter. Corundum (Copper) gets a reduced need except in jewelry making
Nice yeah level 63 and not gone to Solitude yet, survival mode seems to slow you down doesn't it, the map suddenly feels a lot larger and distances matter. Yeah I will leave the tomes till I've advanced skills a little bit further on, I always make the mistake of picking up tomes too early 😉
One thing that I wanted to ask you about cooking food.... When you made your first batch of vegetable soup in Bannered Mare. I noticed both beef and venison.... Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the venison stew and beef stew recipes as good or maybe better than vegetable soup? Thank you for a great let's play... Keep up the good work!
Very true yeah Venison stew has a very similar effect to vegetable soup, they are almost identical. It's venison, salt, potato and leek isn't it. I missed picking up the meat on the table to make anything like that!
Yeah had to look it up salmon roe, garlic and nordic barnacles and salmon roe, histcarp and jazbay. Fortify waterbreathing and fortify magicka at insane levels and value.
That sounds like it could be a bug, as I saw a similar comment a few months ago. I don't know if this worked or not because they never got back to me, but I looked online and someone said they 'reset' survival mode by turning it off and let the settings save, they selected it again, and the regen worked. Are you on PS5 by any chance? As I've also seen a lot of commentors on reddit say they've had this problem and they haven't found a fix. So I don't know if its something which plagues the PS5 version. Once commentor even said theyve tested magicka and stamina regen, and both work, its just health which never does. Which sounds really annoying
@@mike-thegamingdad hey! Thanks for getting back to me! I'm on PC. Yes, my Magicka and Stamina both increase but the health doesn't. The reset worked! And then it stopped again lol...ugh
@pmuttenthaler oh really? That sounds like what the PS5 players were experiencing as one said they got the regen to run for like 5-10 seconds before it stopped again. I'll have to test mine out. I think I'm running with some perks that give you health regen (gear, the lady stone etc), so I've always seen that I've had regen. I should try it without anything equipped to see if I'm having the same issue
With the Axe of Whiterun I would have given it to Lydia because she is a one handed specialist and the fire enchantment is one of the best early game enchantments you can get AND you can disenchant it down the road! TBH I think that was a bad choice to sell it!
@@mike-thegamingdad I get you there.... LOL I am now watching you talk to the Greybeards! Yesterday with my Nord that I am doing the main quest with (not on survival mode)... I rode my horse up the 7000 steps and just galloped past any wolf, bear or frost troll.... Now I did miss all the readings on the signs but I have done that before and just wanted to get to the top as fast as possible!
Survival mode juat slows down the flow of the game as you need to sleep and eat now. I generally hold off eating until I get into combat. Oh the bed upstairs in that inn is because you beat that bard in a fist fight. If you hand over firewood first before paying the guest bed is free. Of course the other hired help for the inn might use that bed. Sadia and the bard will use the guest bed if you hand over firewood to the inn keeper.
Yeah its a different experience I guess isn't it, I've enjoyed it as its made me think about situations a lot more, especially around fast travel. Its a case of what else should I do here as I may not be back in a while, whereas before I'd just fast travel everywhere.
@@mike-thegamingdad I was trying to play Redguard in survival and I just deleted that game. I can't tolerate survival with classes that have no survival benefits. I will do orc in survival instead. Or load up Winston my Nord to check it out.

If you join the Companions, you will get a free bed there, too.
RE: Subtitles, I find they're strange sometimes.
General question - with fast travel disabled, if you weren't doing this series for RUclips, would you be taking ALL the possible quests in each location? For example, in episode one, you mentioned the "Saints & Seducers" quest with the Khajit trader, and in this one, you didn't want to take the Iverstead haunted barrow quest. Normally, would you just take every quest, and get to them when you get to them? 🤷♂
In survival mode, do you think the "Voice of the Sky" perk would be a beneficial perk for non-archers?
Once I've done this I'll be posting a poll whereby everyone can vote on which bit of the story they want me to do next
For hunting game specifically, I would recommend the Kyne's Peace shout. Animals won't run away and you can kill them easily. Either that or the calm spell. Voice of the Sky is great if you want to not be attacked by animals, but as soon as you attack one, the effect is lost.
Love the videos mike keep up the awesome work ❤
Thank you 😁
Welcome back, Mike! I was just thinking about your survival LP and then this episode popped up in my feed.
Haha 😂. I'd hoped to get this up a lot sooner but my last build took longer and then life has been a bit hectic since new year! Will hopefully get into a more steady rhythm with it soon 😁
The rabbit is actually a useful pet if you're into alchemy. My little one delivers Deadric hearts on a surprising base. And it's rarely in the way.
Great tip thank you
Yeah I'll go back and pick him up I think at some point 😁
@@mike-thegamingdad - That's the one big difference in "no fast travel" mode - I tend to not "map" dungeons when I discover them but do things when I am there. Just because going there with no fast travel is a pita. Then there is the reduced carry weight on the other hand ... sigh.
Yeah the rabbit is cool. I load it up with ingredients then send it home.
@@mike-thegamingdad Sounds good to me. I'll keep an eye out for it. :)
"The jarl has appointed me as your housecarl."
I appoint you as my new wife.
Haha yep 🤣
Mikeeee next build you do... 🤣 op illusion assassin
I'll add it to my ever-growing list 🤣
Another great video buddy :) make sure you gave 3-4 camping sets to go from winterhold to hobsfall cave
Thank you 😁 yeah Lydia can carry all the camping equipment 🤣
If you want to make potions to boost your combat damage (but won't level alchemy as quickly) then plant Juniper Berries and Canis Root for archery and it's just Fly Amanita and Dragons Tongue will do it for 2 handed on their own
@@mike-thegamingdad thanks for the reply! I’ll definitely try to boost 2 handed (don’t want to be become reliant on archery all the time!)
47:52 You can combine the newly acquired hagraven claw with snowberries to make a fortify enchanting potion. I think it is worth mentioning because fortify enchanting isn't the first effect of the two ingredients, so you can't just eat them to figure that one out.
Ah nice thanks for the tip! 😁👍🏻
The Greybeards still give me chills, I got scared by them for the 1st time I've ever played this fun game
Really cool watching this as im on my 1st playthrough but at level 30. Went back to a couple things after seeing you do it
Nice that's great glad you are finding it useful 😁

Sounds like a good mod list that, especially fixing the passage of time in areas where it doesn't make sense for it to fly quickly 👍
dude wonders why the old guys stay at the top of the mountain meditating then goes on saying why he loves it so much @ 1:19:00. It reminds me of why people do the same IRL, the view at the top of a mountain reminds people in a way that all is one, or we are all connected.
The views are pretty impressive outside of High Hrothgar! 🙌🏼
Ha ha love it...😂 16m 'where's Faendal? Is he dead? Oh well...' (and don't even ask what Ultberth was doing with that dark elf in Whitrun????) 😮
The dragon may have eaten Faendal, not really sure. And I wasn't waiting around the find out 🤣.
Haha I know it was a a bit suspect wasn't it 😂
Just watching the second episode of your survival mode walkthrough.
Mike you most likly know this by now but if you keep hold of your 3rd person key and use your roller wheel you can bring it out as desired
@kevlyon thanks yeah I worked that.out eventually 🤣
@Mike - The Gaming Dad ill be watching your video on the homes before I play it again and see which one I fancy making my forever home.
@@Steggington_Rex nice one enjoy 😁
Hey for non survival do you think a dark elf 50% fire resistance is best for a vampire or Breton 25% magic resistance everyone says dark elf but people also say Breton best race so I’m not sure
In my opinion dark elf is the best
51:32 "note on tamed rabbit"
*gets out axe*
My heart stopped for a minute thought you were going to kill poor Thistle 🤣
😂 Good timing. You'd think after 10 years I'd know the controls, forever pressing equip weapon when I mean activate or opening the menu when I'm looking for the map 🤣
For Playstation: you know you can move the camera further away from yourself by pressing and holding L3 and moving R3 forward or back? The other platforms must have this as well.
Thanks will try that out later 😁
Also, I think Become Ethereal is the best underrated shout. It allows you to survive EVERY fall. Next time you're on the roof of the Winterhold College, shout that just before you jump off the building. Or High Hrothgar. Just the first word works most of the time. If you jump off immediately you'll hit the ground unharmed.
Haha I went labaryhian last night I walked there, and wow it was tense. Not doing that again.
I was freezing to death all while creeping past trolls haha
Survival mode gives it a whole new edge doesn't it 🤣
Yes I was actually nervous and worried I wasn’t going to make it to the town
Never try to join the stormcloaks at level 7 on master difficulty as soon as you touch the see of ghost you start to freeze and lose health. Almost soft locked myself
One more thing with the hagraven camp is that.... I think.... after you have killed them all you can use their beds to camp! In case you need to rest for an hour so you can level up before heading over the mountain to Iverstead.... LOL just saying 😉
Haha nice 😂 might have to be one of the witches beds though, that seems a better alternative to the Hargraven one 😂
I believe a companion always stays behind in Dragonsreach while you fight your first dragon at the Western Watchtower. Also, Valtheim Keep = Valtheim Towers. It's pronounced Valt-heim (as in valentine dime).
You learn something new every day 😅
@1:37:00 Poison of Damage Magicka Regeneration is the #1 poison to put on bows when fighting dragons - both their ability to fly and their breath effect are magicka fuelled - pro-tip
@1:53:30 Classic noob mistake - runs into battle without checking Lydia has caught up - LOL
Great episode 👍
I eaven learnd a new thing.
I thought the free bed in Whiterun is the one you normaly buy for 10 gold 😅.
I was wondering why it wasn‘t free after some time.
A poisen I personally like is: Mora Tapinela, Impstool and Cainisroot. Paralyze and damage over time
For what you should do next:
I would recommend Companions or Dawnguard (as a vampire) Bouth forms give you immunity to diseases
Glad you learnt something new 😁 I've learnt loads from reading all the comments over the last few months!
Nice that is a good poison 👍.
while playing survival mode i usually cart to riften, grab all the salt in fish barrels then go to ivarstead from riften
So question, how would "doing up your arm" help from dragons breath? It is magic your arm rating could be 0 and you would have taken the same.
Don’t forget the training tomes in the Hall of the Dead, Belethor’s shop and Acadia’s Apothecary.
I missed picking up the meat on the table to make anything like that!
first thing i do with alchemy is eat new ingredients! to get that first use known
also, morthal is more expensive on the carriage bc they don’t have stables. the cheaper destinations have stables
@@peytk ah great didn't know that was why thank you 😁
Is it Salmon Roe and Histcarp?
Yeah had to look it up salmon roe, garlic and nordic barnacles and salmon roe, histcarp and jazbay. Fortify waterbreathing and fortify magicka at insane levels and value.
My health NEVER regenerates with the food in survival mode. If yours works, could you please let me know how? Thanks for making these videos!
Episode one done. Episode 2 now 😊
Awesome thank you 😁🙌🏼
With the Axe of Whiterun I would have given it to Lydia because she is a one handed specialist and the fire enchantment is one of the best early game enchantments you can get AND you can disenchant it down the road! TBH I think that was a bad choice to sell it!
Yeah probably, I think I was so peeved off that it was iron and not steel 🤣 was hoping for something better
@@louisbrewer1260 yeah its not a journey you want to repeat to often is it 😂
Survival mode juat slows down the flow of the game as you need to sleep and eat now.
Or load up Winston my Nord to check it out.

what difficulty is this?
Adept currently, was feeling after episode 1 it might need to go to at least expert but then this episode brought me down a peg or two 🤣
good vid but I vote you don't play in 3rd person as takes up too much play area
you dont have to return the horn until later in the story, i think when you return to meet parthunaxx you can also turn in horn, saves you a trip in survival mode if your wlling to delay tier3 unrelenting force
Getting the tier 3 unrelenting force definitely worth the trip.
Love your channel Gaming Dad 😁👍 just started the video I really enjoyed the first one.
