    I don't even have any concrete to stain, but this is still oddly fascinating to learn about.

    LOOOOVE, the music! Is it copyrighted? "Acid stain your concrete, Oh, yeah, baby!"
    Seriously, it does look good, albeit a little too shiny, but I am sure that you did that so that we can see the color and detail better. Great information, this is the way to go.

    How long after applying the stain should you wait to place furniture and rugs?

    So i am wondering if i put a polish over my stain and it looks milky white is that a problem with the stain or the polish. I did put on the floor before i went to polish. My floor looks awful. Do i take the polish off and start over? if so how do i get it off with out damaging the stain.

    I just built a concrete countertop. Should I stain before polishing (with disks, not chemicals) or after? I will work up to a 3000 grit. Or, should I go up to 200 grit, stain, wait a few days then continue to polish?

    What is your opinion on diamond grinding with. 100 grit? Will it grind the concrete too much? We have a lot of carpet glue and paint on our slab and are having a difficult timeout ting it all removed. The dimabrush touts that it is a good concrete prepping tool for removing mastics, ect. Is this true? Also, we removed tile at the entry way and it looks as though there is exposed aggregate. What is your suggestion on dealing with that?

    I'm not getting a reaction with my concrete. It wasn't sealed but did have a latex additive in the mix. What could the problems be?

    What if I didn't want to use acid stain, doesn't acid etch washing allow you to use a variety of different concrete stain? What is the pros to using acid stain versus reg concrete stain after acid washing? Also, what if I didn't have to acid wash and used a reg concrete stain (non-acid), would this be ok?

  • @mrcabojr

    what if the concrete has already been sealed? thanks AL

    We used acid stain for the first coat over interior concrete floor but someone was wearing tennis shoes while spraying the stain, walked on the stain and it left foot prints. We used a coppery-brown stain. Can we over-stain the footprints since the footprints left a lighter pattern where that person walked?

    If you don't use an acid etcher like muratic acid or similar what do you do to concrete that's been machine trowelled finished. Is there something else you can clean it with to prep it or do you have to grind or sand the surface. I have a 24x50 garage floor with one year old concrete that's not very flat. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and posting this video.

      You should start with a concrete degreaser, especially since it's a garage. then rinse and then use T.S.P. or soap and water and then rinse a couple times with clean water and let dry. To open the pores of the concrete as you're asking, use a rented floor buffing machine with the agrressive stripping, scrubbing pad which is a black knarly looking pad. I would get 2 pads and use one when degreasing and then use the other when doing the final scrub with T.S.P. or soap and water. That will get the concrete pores open and the concrete clean and ready.

    How to I camouflage where my tack strips from my carpet where? Thanks

    • @KB-im1ix
      @KB-im1ix 8 лет назад

      that's what I will be dealing with. I probably won't worry about mine although some are patched from previous owners. You could do a border design over the stain before sealing to hide the tack strip holes or just let it be part of the design. I'm not going to fill in anymore cracks or chips. will just add character to it in my opinion.
