Which do you think would work better a grinder or a sander? What gritt paper should I use? Will a grinder ar sander leave swirl marks in the floor that will show when it is stained?
My floor has these little "nail pops" where a wall was removed, and they are in a really conspicuous L-shaped pattern. Is there any way I can try to hide them? Have you ever had to deal with something like that?
I'm using a semi transparent concrete stain on my back porch and was told to clean the concrete really well with a pressure washer. After that, I was told to apply muriatic acid to the concrete and wait 15 min. Then apply stain. This doesn't seem correct in my mind. Could someone please help me figure this out before I mess this project up?
A semi transparent stain is not an actual concrete stain. It's not an acid stain. It's actually more like a paint. They do have their place, say on concrete that is just really trashed. But if your concrete is in any kind of decent shape, you should toss it and find you an acid stain. You'll achieve better results and not have to worry about it peeling or fading down the road. Any product that pretends to be a concrete stain but then tells you to acid wash the concrete first before applying it, is a product to avoid. Acid stain is the only true concrete stain and you should never acid wash or etch the concrete prior to using an acid stain. For new construction, should I wait until the walls are rocked and trimmed? Or would there be a more advantageous time to do the staining?
What is the best way to remove tile from concrete in order to stain without the swirls from the grout?
do you clean the concrete twice with the tsp
