    Wow, this makes me want to try and redo my stock Harley seat and just give it a shot. It most definitely won’t be as good as this, but I think I’m going to give it a shot when I get my new custom ordered seat and I’ll just have my crappy stock seat laying around. I just want to be able to swap from my new seat which is a 2up seat to my stock one which is a solo seat. ANYTHING is better than the stock 2020 Harley Davidson Street Bob (FXBB) seat!
    AMAZING job and attention to detail! Custom upholstery like this is such a cool thing to me, you just make it look so damn easy! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

    @JohnHunt, Firstly, thank you for posting this amazing how-to video. It's great inspiration for me to do this on my own. But, I have questions... The backing material you are using on the Alcantara? What is it called? How thick? The thread you are using for the stitching. What material? What is the thickness of the thread. Is there a good place to source the materials? That super-duper chalk or pen you are using?

  • @royhuxley8903
    @royhuxley8903 2 года назад

    The problem with the standard NC750X is it needs to be a bit wider and made flat so you do not slide forward all the time.
    It looks good but try sitting on it for a few miles. It will make your eyes water.

    i was thinking about buying a pre-cut/made cover for my mt10. how hard is it to get all the creases out when stapling the material back to the plastic base? im just worried ill screw something up but im too cheap to take it to a professional 😅. too cheap to pay 400 beans for a aftermarket Sargent seat too.

    • @Johnhuntuph
      @Johnhuntuph  2 года назад +1

      If it’s a good cover it’s relatively easy process, use a heat gun, or maybe a hair dryer to warm cover up to aid fitting. You will need a decent stapler to. Good luck with your seat. John

    What length staples a motorcycle seat do you use?

    • @Johnhuntuph
      @Johnhuntuph  4 года назад +1

      Gene Holmes Hi there’s not one that fits all, it depends on the thickness of the base and the fabric being used.
      As a rule I use the longest I can but saying that 10mm is the longest I use sometimes 6mm and sometimes I have to use 4mm on the thinner plastic seat frames.
      Hope this helps John.
