    Its me, the one who submitted the replay. That play on the bridge where I bashed off was a missclick, didn't mean to bash. The point in the game where our tank was complaining about heals was right after he played Sigma, walked forward on round 2 at their spawn, then died to McChicken ultimate (although he mentioned the entire game). Also, I saw in chat someone asked about sym turret and ball mines procing inspire, I know the mines do, but I don't think the turrets do (same for torb turret).

Though tbf most people in lower ranks are less consistent with their high level play so maybe part of the reason your not ranking up isnt purely due to the ridiculous rng queues, but also because not ALL of your games are like this one.

    8:30 I’m just saying, it could be just the bug acting up. The Swift Step bug acts differently between a live game and replay. I had a few games where I’m spamming the ability and it’s just her doing the “clapping” animation until it actually works. While viewing it in the replay just has her staring at her teammates awkwardly.
    Now I can’t confirm whether or not the Kiriko tried to Swift Step, but I thought I would give you a heads up, because the bug is still present and it’s very irritating
    Edit: I do agree this Kiriko hardly used Swift Step and really should use it more often. It was just that moment that made me think for a second. Mostly because I’ve been playing Kiriko since the launch of OW2, and she’s currently in my top 5 most played. So I’ve experienced some buggy moments with her

    I feel like "tank blames support for not healing" is often just "tank admits to having shitty awareness and is completely unaware that their team is getting flanked behind them". Support couldn't heal because there was an Echo/Reaper/Sombra/etc keeping them busy while the tank is just going "I'M HOLDING THE MAIN DOORWAY 1v5, WHERE'S MY TEAM" and "tank diff but trash team" because they hard-focused dueling the enemy tank instead of, y'know, being a tank
    edit: not to say that was what this tank was doing here, though definitely one or two spots where the Kiriko/Brig had to turn and deal with a flanker (especially on Brig who can peel so well herself) and the tank was completely focused on what was in front of them. And I kinda suspect if they were complaining in chat, it was because of those moments where they noticed they were briefly not being hard-pocketed.

      As a plat level tank main, please explain something to me. So if my DPS is kinda shitty and can't help themselves, I get blamed for not checking flank and backing off. Okie dokie then. Then, when I need to babysit their asses, they blame for NOT MAKING SPACE. So how will I go about it? Only way I see that works is super risky aggro with tank but once that works, I jus get gunned down. While the DPS isn't a threat to the enemy and gets mostly ignored in favour of targeting me.

    • @JiorujiDerako

      @@zafraz1077 I'm not any higher in rank to give proper advice, but IMO no matter what I don't think you can please everyone, teammates are going to make mistakes and blame you regardless until you're _hopefully_ at an elo where they can understand the macro a bit better (but let's not kid ourselves, people will be toxic and blame others anyway).
      You're already up in plat, so hopefully you're decently good at threat assessment? Gauging what's more of a threat to your team, that flanker or the rest in front of you, and acting accordingly. Will you turning around deal with the problem quickly enough and make it a 5v4, will the enemy tank just walk in and make it a worse problem if you're not holding them off, etc.
      Either way, teammates will find ways to blame anyone but themselves for their mistakes, just gotta also make sure you're not doing the same thing yourself and make sure you're confident enough in your own decisions to know what they're blaming on you isn't your fault.

      As a ow1 tank main who picked up support in season three of ow2, I can tell you that gold is the worst of the metal ranks for this role. I was there for a while, slowly but consistently climbing after zooming out of bronze and silver as a Kiriko otp.
      One match after I'd been in gold 2 for a while, I was told by my tank and dps, who were stacked and on the same page of awful decision making, essentially that I was one of the stupidest people on the planet and didn't deserve to play the game. That same gaming session, I hit plat 5 and then hit it again on an alt. Plat 5 to 1 was so unbelievably fast, as I can rely on a larger percentage of my team (especially plat 3 and above).
      Don't worry. Metal ranks are very rough out there for supports right now, and for some reason I know people who are newer to the game and don't even know how to nano a genji blade comfortably, that have zoomed to diamond with a 2.5k healing average per game while duoing with me, while my grind is still easy but slow af. You all will climb out of gold and get in the rhythm of the ladder in time, just keep at it. Gold to Plat is doable, but just not as fun on support. I believe in you all!

  • @ModernTenshi04
    @ModernTenshi04 11 месяцев назад +30

    From what I'm seeing, the biggest issue is the tank is playing out in the open and minimally if ever using natural cover. They played two tanks who are more poke tanks with really good ranged attacks as though they were brawler tanks, and likely expected one or both supports to just keep them up all the time. The tank also did the one thing that really ticks me off when defending on maps like Eichenwalde: they pushed up well beyond the choke points of the map when they absolutely didn't need to. I cannot tell you how many times people going outside of huge choke points on maps has cost the team really good holds and thus entire points.
    But seriously, the tank needs to learn how to properly play poke tanks and use the range of their attacks to keep folks at bay and whittle down the enemy team's resources to strike at the right moments. I've reached a point where if a tank was saying they weren't getting heals I'll call out when they were either LoS-ing me or when I was giving them heals and they died anyway.

    I had a match the other day where someone on my team was complaining about us supports not healing (in qp, mind you). Both of us had higher healing stats than the other supports, and I was on brig, so I heal by doing damage (which I said). Luckily they shut up after I said those two things. It's not our fault that one of our dps tries to 1v5 the other team.

      Not gonna lie I notice most of the games I have lost in competitive have always about 90% of the time have been when enemy team has a healer/support on the tank. I play zarya and bruh it can be frustrating. Also notice too when the tank OR support falls the team falls unless you got some bad ass teammates or enemy’s lol. @@natsuccubus You're right that they "can" be arbitrary; though, it's not about having higher healing numbers... - having the numbers to any person that can actually read them while a game is going does in fact tell you that there was nothing else you could do (and I'm sure anybody VoD reviewing can also see and determine sniper one shots = less healing numbers at times lol).
      We don't need to see them as the audience; but, I would assume it would actually work out better for these streamers that do VoD reviews in shaping their reasons/insight to another player.

Had enough of that widow going scott free, did my switch from mercy to ana, and just slapped that widow silly by playing close range and bullying her and their ana. Not only tanks who complain.
    Just had a DPS who was overextending all the time, not playing with the team and expected me on Bap to follow and heal him all the time.
    People usually also moan when I play Moira. I get 15k healing and 10k damage, we win the game and still people complain about not getting healed enough. Though, in that game, our Mercy did another 15k healing. IDK if they are only butthurt because I get more elims or damage.
    Just two recent experiences.
    But tbh: more often than not I get compliments and endorsements. Most people seem to realize when they have a decent support carrying them.
    Sometimes people just have a bad day and blame it on others. Support players are the easiest targets. Tanks are next. Very easy to write 'tank diff' as the role is so important.

    i will say in my experience in low elo, there are a few entitled tanks. what i mean by that is there is an insufferable population of tanks that never notice their mistakes- overextending, abandoning the team to get kills and expecting supports to just drop everything and be there with them within milliseconds, not making good choices in general and blaming the supports for "no heals". there have been times i have hard diff'd enemy supports and the tank will still blame me and the other support for their poor decisions. one thing i will say though as a Kiriko main, every Kiriko main needs to get into the habit of this very basic move set: heal, kunai, kunai, repeat. the reason for that being is if youre good with your aim or just lucky you can kill most heroes with 2 headshots and the pause between heal bursts is around the same timing as it is to send out 2 kunais.

    I'd say don't pick distance castrated characters on defense. If you push too far to be effective you'll end up throwing the point, if you stay back you're useless. Like Brig has 3 packs that heal fuck all and you have to push forward to proc heals. Good you had hamster there feeding you heals. Even with Moira on def I sometimes struggle to suckysucky the heals, especially if they have a shield.
    Love Ramattra in that sense too, he can stand there spamming dmg on defense or go 💪and push some faces on attack. You can use ult to push or stop the push too, love him (I hope they don't nerf him)

    • @thewalnutbucket
      @thewalnutbucket 11 месяцев назад

      On maps with close choke points, like Eichenwalde, Brig actually works really good on defense. You proc inspire off of whipshots, which also keep the enemies at bay, and any time they try to push through the choke, at least one gets whipped, and you can then melee the rest, playing corners and helping your tank to negate space taken. As you could see, at first point choke, Brig whip could hit anyone who peaked and was safely behind the corner with easy LOS to other sup and dps on the team. Same for the second choke and third choke.
