Col. Gutsy I wouldn't say mercenaries, that had more of a derogatory "for hire" tone. GenSec is a private security contractor who employs units more elite and well trained than even the FBI and federal law enforcement can send out to fight crime. If you read the FBI Files on the PD wiki, it says that GenSec are actually hired by D.C. public safety officials as a complement to their own LE units to increase the probability of taking the gang down.

I don't think Zeal are mercenaries, the Zeal teams are likely the result of Garret's involvement with militarizing the police force, heck I wouldn't even call the GenSec cops to be mercenaries just a company that's starting to get annoyed with the PayDay gang.

One of the few times when game devs actually put care into making the hardest difficulty fun. Instead of relying entirely in BS stuff, Overkill added a Bulldozer with an LMG, gave an increase to enemy health and damage that was noticeable but still fair and even added map changes that were specific to this difficulty. Even stealth got more difficult. While the amount of guards was only slightly increased (If at all, depending on the map), the previously mentioned map changes alongside indestructible Titan cameras made players to seek alternative ways to do the heist because their previous ones were either riskier now or then weren't options anymore. Everyone liked it because it did something new for once. So what have we learned? 1: Take notes Valve. Dealing with common infected that deal 20 damage per swing or HECU marines that can tank almost 30 shots before dying is not fun. 2: Fuck Jules.
Unexperienced Rats and Firestarter rushers that are leve 100 but can't cook 1 bag of meth. Met a level 280 that has never stealthed a mission before yesterday.
Stu Pidface How is that relevant to my comment? I agree with what you say though, I generally feel more satisfied stealthing a mission. I spent roughly an hour trying to stealth the train heist on overkill, even though we could have beaten it in second try when we got spotted.

Dawg i shot one bullet from my 750 round mingun to kill a normal cop and still reloaded. Because I don't like it when my gun isn't at full ammo.
One of the few times when game devs actually put care into making the hardest difficulty fun. Instead of relying entirely in BS stuff, Overkill added a Bulldozer with an LMG, gave an increase to enemy health and damage that was noticeable but still fair and even added map changes that were specific to this difficulty. Even stealth got more difficult. While the amount of guards was only slightly increased (If at all, depending on the map), the previously mentioned map changes alongside indestructible Titan cameras made players to seek alternative ways to do the heist because their previous ones were either riskier now or then weren't options anymore. Everyone liked it because it did something new for once. So what have we learned?
1: Take notes Valve. Dealing with common infected that deal 20 damage per swing or HECU marines that can tank almost 30 shots before dying is not fun.
2: Fuck Jules.
And here I were, thinking overkill had gotten extremely difficult lately..
Unexperienced Rats and Firestarter rushers that are leve 100 but can't cook 1 bag of meth. Met a level 280 that has never stealthed a mission before yesterday.
Stu Pidface How is that relevant to my comment? I agree with what you say though, I generally feel more satisfied stealthing a mission. I spent roughly an hour trying to stealth the train heist on overkill, even though we could have beaten it in second try when we got spotted.
And here I am, still playing on Easy and Normal difficulty...

TheSkridpomfrit You said you thought Overkil got harder recently, to which I replied that it's because speedrunning Rats or Firestarter becomes more and more common, because everyone can do it and there is no skill requirement. I don't really blame the community though, the game is pretty grindy and as much as I love Overkill...they seriously need to revamp the reward system somewhere down the line.
