I have watch a couple of these shock tuning videos, I think it would be helpful to have some video of cars running terrain and showing whats going on and how to adjust it.
Thank you for all these videos, I’ve learned a lot just about shocks. So I’ve sent my shocks in to have you guys do Shock Therapy In on them. The walker Evans off at XPT 1000. When I get them back I’m just hoping that is a plush ride over any speed wobbles. Keep these videos coming love them.
Thank you so much for sharing this info. I have been following you for 2 years and learned so much about chassis and suspension functions. I also use your products. 3 sets of springs thus far and full BDS kit for my X3 thank all at Shock Therapy. Next on the list is RIS.
* * * REBOUND * * * 2023 KRX4es with 2.5" Fox Live Valve. We were the first customer at your NC shop. Did the works ST valving & springs after we finished build. Running 33" tires on method wheels @ 57 lb. total wheel weight. ( Up 7 lb. over OEM wheel weight. ) We don't have limit straps but in the process. Q: Guessing KRX4 needed 3" Fox Live Valve shocks to prevent rebound extention hammering noise over whoops because it made the same hammering noise stock before heavier wheels & ST heavier springs. Regardless if we are in soft, normal, hard suspension mode. The front shocks hammer on rebound off the top of whoops. So to prevent premeture oil life, ST valving doesn't increase rebound. Leaving limit straps as the least expensive option available to maintain extended shock oil life ? One of the reasons for upgrading to ST valves was to help control the additional spring energy from heavier springs. SPEED UTV with 32" tires comes with 3.25" shocks, claim they don't need limit straps. That's how I arrived at the KRX4 needing 3" shocks for it's heavier OEM build. KRX4 and El Jefe LE have almost the same OEM weight. Because UTV mfg. decided to go with underated shocks to keep the cost down or profits up, we can spend $8k on 3" Fox Live Valve and sell the current 2.5" that we have or limit straps ? Do I understand this correctly ? Great video as always. Thank You
I think you have a pretty good grasp on this. But, 3” does not mean the rebound clunk will be fixed. It does have more hydraulic resistance but not on the rebound top out where you need it. What fixes this is a properly tuned top out spring. Heavier rate (inside the shock) to stop the Extention. Problem is they are not made fir your application and most aftermarket wheel and tire weights. Even if they were made it’s a pretty narrow window they would work in. Or you just loose travel. The best option is a limit strap. Relatively cheap, no clunk and you can run any rebound you like. Soft Extention hit too. Hope that helps
Can you run a 32" dirt tire in the front of a RZR and a 30" paddle in the rear in 4wd or even 2wd (Dunes)? FYI lol...Space Jam No Covers - R. Kelly "I Believe I Can Fly" and Seal "Fly Like an Eagle"
More spring or more preload acts like faster rebound and stiffer compression. Less spring rate or pre load acts like slower rebound and less compression
I watched a few videos here, looking into upgrading my fox 2.5’s on a 22’ pro xp (premium) currently running l&w long travel and 35” rockzillas. What upgrades do you recommend while in the shocks? Valving, reservoir extensions, springs (much needed), etc. mainly ride rocks and trails in the Midwest beat on the buggy pretty hard occasionally race it and hit the local dunes just looking for further ride quality for something stuff enough that I can beat on it in the dunes but I can dial it back and take it easy on the trails.
I have had you folks tune my Talon shocks with RIS valving and springs. My question is: do the DSC adjusters fit the Fox Podium 2.5's, and if so, is this a modification that can be purchased from you folks? I've made some chassis changes to move weight to the rear of my Talon to assist with the bucking and I'm already looking at getting the springs changed to account for this change. If the DSC is something that can be added, I would consider doing it when I have you folks help me with the springs.
@@ShockTherapyllc Awesome. Thank you for the quick reply! I'll hit you guys up when I get my new cage installed in a few weeks and have the weight set for the springs.
I have a 2023 RZR Turbo R ultimate. What shock setting should I be in when in am driving on seasonal roads in Upstate NY with a ton of pot holes? I tried comfort mode, it’s the best at soaking up the pot holes but the car is really unstable! I spend $35,000 on this car so I could go as fast as you desert guys go thru 3 foot whoops (60 mph)! I can’t go more than 25 mph thru 4” deep potholes with out shaking my teeth out! This car sucks, what car do you suggest I get to go 60 mph thru 4” deep potholes and have a smooth ride? Or what can I do to make my car handle 4” potholes better?
@ShockTherapyllc sorry I just found the channel and didn't realize you guys are all side by side. I just installed sway a way shocks on my f150. And wow what a difference!

Thanks so much for this video. It really helped me better understand my suspension, that to this point I have been reluctant to mess with.
That is our goal. Thank you very much for telling us. 🤘🏻
Agreed with @StephenMorrison76
Just a vid of what the car or shock is doing and whats achieved once the adjustment is made. 👌

@@ShockTherapyllc Thank you. Looks like another plus for SPEED UTV.
18:38 any idea on a time line 👀👀 or need some turbo r walker shocks to test it on 👀👀👀
Is it normal for them to leak the first time you adjust them an would it stop if I tighten it back up
If stiffer top out springs are available, why would shock manufacturers not ship the shocks with the stiffer spring already installed?
Lots of reasons for that. Roll over tests are just one. Cost is another

Dude Fest 2023! Or did I misunderstand?
How does spring adjustment effect this?
More spring or more preload acts like faster rebound and stiffer compression. Less spring rate or pre load acts like slower rebound and less compression
Did I understand this correctly? You can place a dual speed adjuster in place of a high only speed compression adjuster?
In most Fox applications yes
@ShockTherapyllc I have a 21' krx base model, would changing the adjuster really be beneficial?
@@alex.puremotorsports only to give you more adjustment. Not in ride qyality
@@ShockTherapyllc makes perfect sense, thanks 👍I'm a data and tuning junky so may be something I do in the future.

SDI makes a high and low speed adjuster for the walker Evans.
Yep....and added to my car when the OEM started to leak at the adjuster.
Why dont we see more people running sway a way shocks?
They were a lower end shock at the time but they are not made in a production way now for some time. They have never had a UTV shock either.

What is the progress on your automatic ride height adjusters? Persuing idea still?

First question when someone says “my car bucks” is “do you own a YXZ?”

I have question I can’t explain on inglés
You guys should pay Patrick McKenna to fill in for Steve and see if anyone notices.
