This was my first video shot and edit by someone else so I apologise for the quality. However the information is good! Contains everything you need to buy to get started . There are several follow up video’s.
Did you give Vinnie the sack then? Nice video on whips. I just got a Middy 5mtr Baggin' Machine whip which I will be using over the Xmas holidays. It has 3 top sections, 1 flick tip, 1 elasticated with No 6 ( I think, maybe No 8 ), and 1 is elasticated with No 14 in case I hook into any carp. I'll probably just use the 2 lighter ones as I'll be fishing for silvers with it on the canal.
I would just like to say a Big Thank you!!!! You have made my confidence grow and now have another fisherman/woman on the waters . I am well and truly addicted and do watch your videos because there is always something new to learn x
Dear Bill, I like to watch your videos, it is so relaxing and I like your attitude to the sport of fishing. I totally agree that when anybody wants to start, there is no need to buy a lot of gear. Recently I started to fish a whip and I was surprised how simple yet effective way of fun it could be! Not only silvers, but last week I catched a lot of carp on a 3m whip. Simple, easy and much more fun even so close to a pond bank...! Thanks a lot for your inspiring and very informative videos, have a good time and enjoy every day! JB
Very useful video like all of your stuff. Even tho I have fished for a long time, your teaching style is refreshing. You're right when you say it is a tool that will last you for your fishing life. We had one for over a decade(almost 20 years)now. It is a 13 footer my wife uses. Two thumbs up 😎👍👍
Thank you for taking the time to help us out. I Sea fish but want to try and get my 4yo in to fishing and think with your help we'll both learn this together so again I thank you. Top man👍🏼
Gary Hughes . Hi that is good to know I’m helping people get into fishing. Sorry about the video quality but that was my first!! If you look at my other videos for beginners I’m sure that will help you and your son. Try the video’s on Canal Fishing, the bread video and the beginners guide to whip fishing on the Canal, two of them. Also check out the two essential knots video. Tight Lines
Thanks for these simple back to basics videos you have been posting. Out of interest what was the make & model of the other whip you used? I can't make it out from the video and a quick search of the online retailers hasn't returned any results that look like your one (cork handled?) Used to float fish a bit in my youth and it's obvious now I knew a lot less than I thought I did! Thinking of having another dabble but there is a minefield of terminology and confusing tackle out there even just looking at the hooks page on the Drennan site its overwhelming, so keep up the good work.
YouGruff . Hi glad you are enjoying my videos. The cork handled whip is a Garbolino Maxim. If you want a good whip check out Fishermans Friend in Birmingham adverts in Matchfishing Magazine loads there. Or try Benwick sports. Lots of good cheap whips out there from Preston Daiwa Sensas Garbolino et al. But the cheap Leeda model has proved a great buy. Check out my other videos for proof. Tight lines
Cracking video for beginners and experienced anglers alike! Just shows how complicated fishing has become these days! I'd choose fishing with my whip over a rod any day. A side note that's a cracking little landing net you have there I've been after a small compact one for ages what make/model is it? All the best Tomas.
