How do you think this movement compares to the ST1908? Are they virtually the same?
I think if I remember correctly the St1908 is a moonphase movement? I haven’t had any exposure to that one but would expect very similar performance to this one… however cannot confirm, hombre 🤷♂️
The qc is bad. My crown spring fell off first and now the chronograph pusher.

I have the 40 mm version with lume on the hands and dial. Very nice watch.

Reminds me of the Vostok Amphibia where people either love it or hate it. I personally just can't get behind this watch. Great video though
Absolutely understand- the watch is definitely not for anyone… I don’t know why but the design speaks to me and I really like it… and I also like Amphibia 😂

I have both of those watches. The difference is the lunar pilot is ticking away at +/- 10 seconds a year and the 1963 is stuck in a drawer broken in less than a year of ownership. It's a lottery with those things.
Yeah, that is what has been keeping me away from them till now… I love my lunar pilot and honestly its 10 000x more practical watch… but can’t deny the magic this little thing has… I am a fan 😁 cheers!
I had the HKED version with the green dial. Really nice watch! Mine was running at +3s/day, very happy with that. I did sell it eventually when I decided to go from 30 to 12 watches 😅 But I'd recommend them, especially the HKED ones and they have couple of different styles.
How did you make it? Going from 30 to 12😳😳😳 I would like to have that will… I have been playing with the thought of selling most of my collection keeping like 4 of them an buying one more expensive watch… but I can’t make that decision 😂 its too hard
@@WatchWatch-ck6xlYes it wasn't easy ahah. I let go of many gems but I also kept some. Took me about a month to sell and figure out what to keep but my fiancé helped me choose.
It just happened out of the blue, I woke I one morning and I was like, this is madness, and went through the process haha.

I have had 5 or so ST19 movement watches, 3 HKED, Baltic and a Geckota. "HK" ED stands buy his watches, he had a new crystal fitted for me, no questions free charge. The ST19's all have their quarks, mostly around the chrono buttons, saying that my lunar pilot chrono button had to be pressed firm to start, if you didn't it would false starts. Great watches, love the chancel.

Thanks for this review. I recently purchased one of these sea gull watches and I think it's great. I agree, I wouldn't wear it everyday but it's on rotation and I have purchased a nice rubber band (green) to replace the crap nato band as supplied.

Karl I bought one a couple of years ago. I went for the so called original size & I have a 18.5cm wrist. Mine was not available at the time with a display case back which is a pity. As an occasional wear, get one MATE!👍🏼🤣🇦🇺

The acrylic 'glass' is the only original version. A watch with a sapphire glass is the modded one.
Arguably yes… I would probably get the acrylic one too… I like acrylic crystal… definitely more than mineral 😁 cheers
I have the acrylic verions and that bezel doesn exist. Its all dome acrylic crystal. In addition of looking really cool, it also makes the watch look thinner as something like 4mm out of the 14mm is transparent
Didn’t think about this aspect, that is actually true! One more reason to get acrylic
