I saw these guys in Melbourne, circa 96 -97 (still have photos with the band to prove it). To this day they stand up as the, in my opinion, most thoughtful punk (now quasi metal) bands. Although I was a semi precocious teen, and somewhat 'informed', their lyrics resonant more and more as an adult.
@firemusic82 cause hes just the second guitarist for when they play live, doesnt come up with any of the music.. and knows his place in propagandhi and is probably happy with it...
Why the hell isn't The Beaver in any interview? And if he does make an appearance, he never speaks. And when they play live, his mic is way low so you can't even hear him. What the fuck is going on?
@TheAstrocat11 Better to have these guys actually out there, trying to spread awareness of some very real problems, than just an entire scene of bands following the routine, endless 'punk rock' cycle of singing generically about girls and how cops are dicks etc. Yes they are preachy as hell and the US is a great nation but to be fair, it totally deserves the criticism - a nation which makes up 3% of the world's population but consumes 25% of its resources is in need of some damn criticism!
how wrong this comment was 8 months ago and more so now. Beaver played on Supporting Caste and influence is more so evident on Failed States. he's widely lauded by the band as an integral member but yeh...he knows his place, right?
@alkalinenofx I know exactly what you mean, a lot of vegan posts online that I've read have had a militant pushy, dare I say elitist way of putting across their points. I'm for the most part vegan myself (not strictly as I still have things with gelatine and cream in them from time to time, but something is better than nothing) and it's a shame that this, and some of PETA's actions unfortunately seem to hurt the cause and drive people away rather than recognizingg that most of us at one stage...
I agree with a good portion of propagandhi's views but I can't into the vegan thing. Mainly because i'm 138 pounds and all bone but also because I haven't met a vegan who doesn't have a huge ego. I do think we should treat animals better and change the food industry which is fucked up right now. Humans evolved to eat meat, animals eating animals is nature if your saying humans shouldn't eat meat your saying we're not part of nature. I'm not saying we should all start eating meat.

@firemusic82 That's crazy! I was just thinking the exact same thing while watching this interview and before I read the comments.
