Tubeless rim tape is definitely NOT expensive unless you're daft enough to buy the reels marketed as such by cycling retailers, which is just existing tapes sold for 1000% makrup. Tesa 4289 is all you need and 1 roll can last forever. Tesa electrical insulation tape is also by far the best out there.

15:00 you might like Vulpine cycling boxer shorts. They make 5-15mi commutes so much better than normal clothes and without the logistic faff of changing outfits. Their trousers are well tailored for riding in, too. The rain trousers are great for windproofing. Overtrousers are needed if it's properly raining, though.
Merino wool, low-profile pad. Ride slow arrive fresh keep them on. Nudge the pace on the way home if I feel like it and shower in the evening. Wake up feeling epic, looking forwards to a cosy roll to work. Commuting on the Tube is far sweatier and stressful than an open-air pootle on two wheels through quietways and parks.
Got 5 pairs (in sales!) so I put them all through a delicates wash together with my club kit each Sunday afternoon.
"Love, hate, tolerate" is actually a way better title!

Try the Madone. Mine has Ultegra and I wear Oakley. I use Strava, but it annoys me. Zwift is weird. GCN is fine. We need it.
Oakley since the hostile Luxottica takeover has dropped in quality. Basing this on 25 years of purchasing them. Out Of have been a great alternative, especially if you use prescription inserts!

Killing strava because you didn't use a strong password likely is silly. Strava is the only social media that requires you to do a physical thing before showing me the thing(except the silly new posts feature.) We don't all have youtube channels so people can follow our rides and things. Letting my friends peep the routes when i'm traveling, and checking friends' rides all over, really motivates me to go out and ride new things.

I recently cycled from the UK to Georgia and the UK is by far the worst to cycle in. So many drivers are needlessly aggressive and impatient (e.g. overtaking on blind corners).
Romania had pretty poor driving, but I didn't feel any aggression towards me as a cyclist.
It's really sad that the UK has drawn cycling into a culture war issue.
I just bought a 105 7100 mechanical group set, it's amazing. Every bit as nice to shift as 6800/8000 Ultegra mechanical. Everyone should buy what they want and choice is great. I can only guess that the 12 speed Di2 is good enough to be worth the extra money.
It is! I have a bike with 12 speed Ultegra 8100 and one with 11 speed 105 7100. Nothing wrong with the 105, but the Ultegra is lovely.
The funny thing is is dat ultegra shifts as good as dura-ace, because they are the same apart from more exotic materials on dura ace. 105 is differenr

I enjoy skinsuits, but only the ones with standard jersey pockets. I don't have any need, for the full blown aero ones. I tolerate bib and jersey, and can't really kill street clothes, but I do pack some to throw over my cycle kit, when entering public buildings.
We need the last one as a short so we post it for gammon consumption

Keep Ultegra and dump the other two. Carbon finishing kit dump.. Dump Trek, to gimmicky. Love Colnago, dump Pinarello, they're so tired looking. Not carrying water is plain stupid. Dump group rides. A few races to keep my old ass interested. Gravel flare is all gimmick..
Why do you hate specialized as a brand? Prices or more into it? I actually think that they do great frames with 10R carbon that are actually very competitive with price. The only way with them is to build your bikes on those frames to keep it good price/quality ratio. Whole bikes are just too expensive. Fantastic bikes to ride!

Car drivers treat you different when wearing normal clothes, that must be an up north thing as where I live down in the south they hate us all.

Specialized and Pinarello are successful and expensive so they tend to be seen as dentist bikes and viewed with envy

@@ChrisSpriggs-rj2ys You say this but you can still pick up brand new Allez/Diverge's for around £1000 and (specialized) hybrids for under £1000 -- I cant find anything from Pina lower than that. Their lowest priced bike (new) seems to start around 3k. Also There are a lot more Allez's on the second hand market. so there is a higher chance of picking up a one in decent condition for a lot less than the RRP.

Kill Ultegra and Force, keep Dura Ace and Red & 105 or Rival. Why? Because Ive had all of them and the price for Ultegra and Force is stupid for what they offer, you could always swap parts if you need to go lighter or need a bigger cassette or range, going from 105 to Ultegra don’t make sense, 100g +\-in total is not an upgrade for me,
it used to be good price before the current gen. The pricing for current gen 12 speed is the problem.

@@1afterthep but even though DA is 200g lighter than Ultegra you could save more than 200g by switching to latex inner tubes, most of bikes that come with Ultegra don’t come with the top of the line wheels for example Trek Aelous pro 51 and RSL’s so the whole thing about Ultegra or Force dont make sense, the “weight savings” would not come into effect if you dont get the top wheels…
@@alannkevin Who can't afford dura ace probably can't afford top of the line wheels. I say keep all three group sets and keep them compatible. latex inner tubes and every flat costs you 20€. I'm cursing enough when it happens.
Carbon bikes should be banned. The only reason people ride carbon bikes is because other people ride carbon bikes and they would be at a disadvantage if they didn't. Cycling would be a much better sport if everyone rode steel bikes.
