Great video as always. I can count on you and your videos to break up a monotonous day. I sit in a recliner about 90% of my day because of my leg being in an external fixation device. So getting a great video sure does help a ton. You can only watch so much tv and sleep. I could watch a whole video of the puppy playing with Earl. She is adorable and of course Earl is like watching your kid because he is in just about every video with you. The building is looking very sharp, lots of room. Mrs Turk has 2 chicks.. so cute.. u made a nice spot for them out of the weather. She has to check it all out. Gosh, Charlie is growing.. they all seem to get along well. A lot of planning to care for the animals with cold temps coming. Looking at this in Tues 1/16 after the arctic front came.. Texas is not ready for 4-5 days fridgit weather.

Growing up in WI in the 80s, we had a small farm similar to yours. we had a hand pump for watering our animals. As a kid, one of my chores was breaking ice, priming the pump and filling the water each evening. I hated it but it sure built character.

If you cut a piece of old cattle panel and wire it flat on top of the water trough, the ducks can't get in the water and the animals can still drink. Ask Jason, at Cog Hill Farm, he tried it and it works.

WOW! You made my head spin with so much content. We are 17 degrees in Pa. at 7:58 P.M. It's really cold. It looks like the animals will be nice and warm thanks to your hard work. Linda and her babies will love it. 😊❤👍✝
My horse has a 17 gallon bucket. I go out, break the ice and pour in 5 gallons of the hottest water from my bathtub tap (I have a 5 gallon water jug). It's not warm in the bucket but brings the water temp up to a drinkable temperature. Lots of work, but I don't trust the horse with an electrical cord. 😄
Add one more hay bail at the bottom closing off the area for the baby poults and if Linda wants to leave the babies won’t be able to get out of the warm heat lamp enclosure until they are able to handle the cold. And Linda will return to lee homemade Brooder 👍great job Daniel keeping your animals safe
I hope the turkey babies pull through and momma let's them stay where you put them. It has been bitter cold 🥶 My mom used to try mixing deer with beef when I was a kid. I would get physically sick. I learned when there was deer meat everyone else could eat it and I would be a vegetarian till there was none left and the food was safe again for me. I'm glad Deejay enjoyed the snack sticks. The puppy and Earl playing is just too cute. God bless.

I'm from south central Pa. and our winters are cold too. We use to put a light bulb above the water for our outside critters and that would keep the water from freezing. The really low temps start tonight here in Ocean Isle Beach on the southern coast of NC. It’ll get down to 25, and I think Saturday night will be the last and the coldest, around 20. I sure am looking forward to spring!

The struggle is finding a Honest processor. My last deer I had processed, weighed 198lbs, after cleaning. (gutted) I got 21lbs back that cost 351.00. For 10 lbs burger, rest sticks.
regarding putting your turkey in your new building during this cold spell.....they DO make turkey diapers (and chicken diapers). You could use these on her when she's in the new bldg.
Our deer here and the eastern shore of Md feed a lot on farmers fields. A lot of grain and greens. Very mild taste. The meat is awesome. Unlike the mountains in western Md where their diet is very different. So happy to see you taking measures to allow the land to support beneficial wildlife and protect from predictors. Daniel can I suggest that you tie the heat lamp to the fencing so the momma turkey doesn't knock it down and cause a fire. Those clamps don't always hold very well.

The really low temps start tonight here in Ocean Isle Beach on the southern coast of NC. It’ll get down to 25, and I think Saturday night will be the last and the coldest, around 20. I sure am looking forward to spring!

The struggle is finding a Honest processor. My last deer I had processed, weighed 198lbs, after cleaning. (gutted) I got 21lbs back that cost 351.00. For 10 lbs burger, rest sticks.
regarding putting your turkey in your new building during this cold spell.....they DO make turkey diapers (and chicken diapers). You could use these on her when she's in the new bldg.
Our deer here and the eastern shore of Md feed a lot on farmers fields. A lot of grain and greens. Very mild taste. The meat is awesome. Unlike the mountains in western Md where their diet is very different. So happy to see you taking measures to allow the land to support beneficial wildlife and protect from predictors.
