    The story of both the Ondash brothers is kind of interesting. They are supporting each other hoping to become the first lebanese One contracted fighter iirc. Both fought last friday night, and both were entertaining fights (although you probably knew that already).

    Ondash looked spectacular out there. I'm more than a little sad that many thai fighters fail to adjust to the reality of a 3-round fight. You have to come out giving 100% from round 1 if you want to have the option of winning on points. I'm in agreement with Gabriel - if this was a 5-rounder, Kongchai would have won. But it wasn't, and Ondash fought the vastly better 2 out of 3 rounds.

    • @beaudanger4079
      @beaudanger4079 14 дней назад

      @tHaH4x0r 15 дней назад +8

      Slight swelling and no bruising can still be a broken arm, it could be just a greenstick fracture for example.
      I hope for you its that, because ligment tears are much more of a pain to deal with. The ligments have comparatively little blood flow, and thus take a long ass time to repair, and for older people often don't repair well at all.
      Personally I had a partial ligment tear in my ankle during running a year ago, and I literally could not put any weight on it for a week. It took about 4 months before it was back in decent condition where I wasn't hindered in doing things, and about a whole year to be fully healed back to normal (I feel blessed for it healing completely though).
      Still, you should just see a specialist to figure out what it is. In any case cooling to prevent swelling and rest is always a good idea.

    Kongchai is a seasoned, very tough fighter that has a long creer inside ONE Friday night fights. I truly appreciate his toughness and resilience. In ONE, body kicks are scores very, very high even when they are blocked. See Nattawut vs Tawanchai, both fights, where Tawanchai would throw a kick that would get blocked, Nattawut would counter with 3+ punches and yet, listen to the commentary and see who won those fights. It’s a bit frustrating sometimes to see that kick getting so much credit but I think that’s why Kongchai kept throwing, because he knows in ONE it scores really high. Happy new year!

    • @gmeme9252
      @gmeme9252 15 дней назад +2

      Please show me how One scores because i am very sure its biased and changes from person to person. The knockdown point system is also flawed i believe as we see in the 2nd round of this fight the thai throws and scores way more but loses the round because he was knocked down.

    • @viviantriana5146
      @viviantriana5146 15 дней назад +1

      @ I fully agree that their scoring is flawed and very biased, but the power kick to the body always scores high. See any Ferrari Fairtex fight, see also both Marat vs Superbon fights… somehow the commentary and judges assume that if a good kicker lands on the Dutch guard, the arms of the opponents will break any second, even if they don’t and the opponent keeps walking forward… it’s truly frustrating sometimes

    • @gmeme9252
      @gmeme9252 14 дней назад

      @ The commentator in one is terrible no offence to him, the Australian was far more knowledgeable and better sadly hes gone. For this fight instance I am pretty sure the guy has a broken right arm, he barely throws it after round 1.
      The favorability of fighters is really bad in ONE. Its not five round traditional muay Thai they need new rules, every strike should count as a single point whether its hands, kick, knee or elbow, whoever out strikes wins the round. they also need to change the knockdown rule from instantly losing the round, this rule has in a lot of bouts throw technique out the window as the knocked down opponent needs to get his own knock down. Or in the case of this fight scored for what I believe was not a round deserving win for Ondash who was out strike the whole round, and as a result he won because of this knock down (not trying to criticize his skill or him as a fighter because the outcome is not his fault).
      One has said in the past they like to score based on damage, yet we see in this fight the Thai walking smiling with far less damage taken then the Lebanese fighter who probably broke is right arm. We can also look John Lineker vs Kulabdam, where I believe the right decision was given, but many fans say kulabdam should lose because he was knocked down. For me it is peak fighting when someone has been knocked down and manages to rally and bring back the game, it really shows the spirit of fighting and the spirit of muay thai.

    • @bullythebull260
      @bullythebull260 13 дней назад +1

      Close to classic Muay Thai scoring. Nothing weird with it unless you dislike the Muay Thai scoring system as a whole. If you want a different set of rules, that is fine. But try to convince Thai fighters that have fought 200+ fights with this system that they are wrong and you won't have much luck.

    • @viviantriana5146
      @viviantriana5146 13 дней назад

      @ you are right, that’s how Muay Thai is scored and that’s the reality. What I truly dislike is when that criteria gets extrapolated to their kickboxing matches. Notice how Nattawut vs Tawanchai were one fight Muay Thai, one fight kickboxing yet one feels after watching that the body kick got a lot of credit in both fights regardless of rule set. Same goes for the Grigorian vs Superbon fights and Even the Prajanchai vs DiBella fight

    IMHO, though I haven't read ONE's score book, having kicks through guard having points is still make sense. ONE uses smaller gloves which basically make a bout a KaadChueak style, where punches are more prevalent.

    He’s an athletic hook’n’slug fighter with a good fade away, and he is fun to watch. But he still fights like a kid. No pacing, not using a lot of tools, depending almost entirely on his athleticism. I have a 13yo son who’s a very competitive wrestler. In the almost four years he’s been wrestling, I’ve seen him pass up a bunch of kids who looked really good comparatively in the first couple years. People develop both physically and mentally at different rates in the early years. Sometimes all you’re seeing at the younger ages is a kid who grew into his speed and strength more quickly than his peers.

    Thais tend to go easy on the first round to read their opponents and often lose in the scoring but they have 4 more rounds to compensate it.
    However, this approach is not really practical in ONE because there’s only 3 rounds to work with and they are not exactly known to be KO artists with their boxing as their style is more based on breaking down opponents with body kicks and win by overall damage after 5 rounds.
    Kongchai would have won if the first round is a tie. Round 2 and 3 cancelled out each other so for this fight, Round 1 actually became the crucial deciding factor on who won the fight, which is Ondash. (10-9, 10-8, 8-10)

    I'll break it down. First, prodigies don't mean anything in fighting as it is not like other sports. The human body tends to have a limit and plateau...as well as IQs not fully realized. Those who grew up fighting in the gym will fight in a trained manner. Predictable, framed, and follow a standard.
    Ondash is a mediocre fighter. His strengths are the left hook and left jab. Poor accuracy, generates too much power, poor fight IQ, limited skill sets, has no killer instinct, cannot flow, bad cardio due to muscles and generating too much power, lacks a kicking game, lacks understanding of basic MT like proper stance and clinch work. He seems to like to catch the kicks and throw the left, which doesn't work bc he's too wide and not in range. He should learn to adjust like evade some, counter by pulling, sweeping and knee, etc. Basically, he has MMA stance....and he throws like MMA. He needs to learn how to save energy by throwing properly. He needs to not catch all the kicks as it drains his energy in addition to expending energy on punching and being bulky. He tries to box in a MT fight and his boxing is bad. That's his problem. Uses mainly hooks and jabs on one side with windup. Easy to evade and defeat. Evasion skills are subpar. At this rate, he'll never be a Champ in an elite organization such as One or any of the two prestigious stadiums. His awareness of situation is bad, not knowing what to do. You grow up in a gym, you'll fight like a gym fighter. He needs to train against different styles. Prime example of what not to do in a fight. He's thinking like every MT fighter where it is a test of will and stamina. Too rigid to be good. The greatest fighters don't really use muscle or power. For example, Saenchai. You have to move fast and learn proper mechanics and always be aware. Bruce Lee said be like water. This means power is defeated by relaxation and not forcing it or using power. Kid has a long way to go.

    Boxing + Muay Thai yuck, but then again I am not a fan of Muay Thai. I don't think the kid is special, he's just a Muay Thai brawler. He doesn't have good head movement, defensive techniques, or even good footwork.

    hes pretty low level. i dont see anything impressive at all. child prodigys usually grow up and lose because the amount of inflated confidence and bad habits they have. he looks like any other muay thai fighter nothing

    Ondash needs to low kick the the standing leg then dump his opponent. He should train grappling to facilitate this.

      Why would he train a very different sport train a skill that is part of muay thai? Terrible advice that showcases your complete utter lack of knowledge on the subject.

    In a 5 round traditional Muay Thai fight Kongchai wins. Probably a stoppage with a broken arm with those kicks.
