GETTING DAD FLASHBACKS is one of the most subtle but hilarious lines in this episode. Can tell trunks has ptsd or something from when vegeta final flashed cell 😂
Perfect Cell has Zarbon's DNA change my mind. Also, I love how, as we start seeing in this episode, Cell got from one version of creep to another with his transformations: -Imperfect Cell is the creep that does weird shit out in the open without any shame -Semi-perfect Cell is the very forceful guy who doesn't take no for an answer -Perfect Cell is the "nice guy" who acts all confident and seducing but gets violently angry when things don't go the way he wants.
It's always great watching people who don't know the series see Goku toss that senzu. It's just so... So... So bad. The shock is hilarious. She really had that concerned, dissapointed mother face the entire rest of the episode, it was beautiful.

Wow did Cell get blue balled this episode. He almost had his perfect death, at the end of his perfect fight, at the hands of his perfect man. Then Goku basically just said "Psych!" right before Cell's big climax.
Hey guys fun little fact that scene at the end with mr. Satan's daughter whose name is Vidal you actually rearrange the word means devil spoiler alert in dragon Ball super she becomes Gohan's wife
Just on a note here. When you are watching the very last episode PLEASE watch the after credits. Smth very important happens there, which could be easely missed otherwise.
I’m like 2 months late or so, but an underrated part of the reaction was how tense Bethany got when Goku and Cell nearly rung out when they were on the edge. They have tons of more subtle reactions throughout the whole series that I love catching. You guys are very colorful lol
Gohan is a lot stronger than Goku. Through the fight he believes that Goku is holding back, but it's just that Gohan is comparing their energies together
Fun fact... Or not so fun fact depending on how you see it. The thing about Roshi watching Bulma poop was not a joke. He actually watched her go number 2 in the original Dragon Ball (when Goku was a child) after using a device that shrunk him. Don't remember the episode to well and I'm not even sure if it was canon or filler, but it happened. Yeah, original Dragon Ball had some weird moments. Like the time Goku sent a rabbit to the moon.
Love your guys' reactions! Also, the bit at the end was a joke of Satan's daughter Videl, who actually becomes Gohan's girlfriend in the Buu Arc. She notes in the show how she saw a golden warrior destroy Cell on TV, so looks like TeamFourStar gave her a little cameo.
It’s definitely a shame that TFS didn’t continue on. Despite their thoughts on the Buu Arc, and any burnout. To see that it’ll go nowhere is definitely sad. I’d hope that one day they will return to it, but unfortunately I doubt it.
Cell surviving Goku's Kamehameha is a actually a huge plot hole as Cell himself specifically states that he regenerates from a small mass in his head. But this is later retconed from him being able to regenerate from a single cell
to be fair, that's how Piccolo's regen works, so he probably didn't realize that Frieza's cells altered his ability to survive injuries that would outright kill Piccolo before he could regenerate.
What many people fail to realize, even from the original, is that Gohan is already stronger than Goku before the fight begins. It’s just than Cell was toying with Goku, but fucks with Gohan to make him transform.
God I love seeing everyone’s first time watching Goku giving Cell a Senzu bean, everyone’s reaction is amazing cause it’s a reaction that literally everyone has
Looking forward to your Hellsing Abridged watch through. It's very entertaining. A bit dark in some areas, but they do well to balance it out with the comedy.

The Goku and Gohan Dynamic is like the father who wants to live vicariously through his son or impose his dreams onto his son and ignores who his son really is. And the piccolo Gohan dynamic is a father who is trying to help his son be the best version of himself that he can be.
This is why when people say that DBZA is better than the real show, I say hell no. The show has Goku explain why he sends Gohan in so much better because it's not focusing on making a joke of everything. Goku didn't even train or seem worried in the week leading up to the Cell Games because he had so much faith that if he couldn't beat Cell, Gohan would be able to. Goku asks Gohan if he thought that Goku and Cell were holding back during the battle and Gohan says yes. Goku says that they were both going all out, but that it only seemed like they were holding back because Gohan was comparing their power with his own.
I should let you know now, that the song which plays at the end of episode 60 part 1 isn't copyrighted. So you don't need to edit the song out when it comes on.
The Instant Kamehameha... One of the most powerful versions of the Kamehameha to exist at this point. Even Cell was terrified at possibly getting by that! And that alone says a lot! 😨
The Instant Kamehameha is one of my favorite moves in all of DBZ/DBS. It's a prime example of why Goku is a fighting genius. If only Goku had known Cell could regenerate, he might've been able to finish him off and win the fight right there.

I freaking loved seeing Videl (Mr. Satan's daughter) as she watched the Cell Games, and I know we're probably never going to get the Saiyaman and Buu arcs from TFS, but I'm going to love to see her and Gohan's interactions when you watch Kai. On a personal note, you are going to absolutely love the Hellsing Ultimate Abridged series.
The stinger at the end was a reference to Mr. Satan's daughter, Videl (anagram of devil, ha) being Gohan's future wife. Y'all's reaction to Goku tossing the senzu bean to Cell was priceless! You're going to love episode 60; it's the best work that TFS ever did with DBZA, IMO. If you want another Abridged series to react to after this one, I'd recommend LittleKuriboh's Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged. It's the original Abridged series; the one that inspired TFS to start in the first place. LK is quite talented in his own right, as evidenced by his Freeza performance in this series.
One thing that needs to be said about Gohan is that during Goku and Cell's fight he was able to keep up with their movements. Piccolo mentions not being able to follow them and Gohan says he can and that piccolo is really gonna not be able to when they get serious. It shows Gohan is on a different level than everybody else when it comes to strength and a subtle hint about what's to come. In the original series everybody could follow them. There's even a couple scenes where everybody is moving their eyes back and forth while they're flashing across the screen
When my friend was first introducing me to Dragon Ball Z and we got to the Senzu Bean part, that was literally my reaction too lol like " NO! What are you doing dude?" Lol.
I am very happy that you two have been enjoying DBZA so much. Gotta love that reaction when Goku tossed a senzu bean to Cell so much Bethany gave an audible "No" & Ken had that "What?" look. Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is definitely a good option to look at. I think you both with enjoy that.
A few things you should know: With the original series Goku doesn't just suggest Gohan is the strongest, but fixates on it. He talks to Gohan and asks if he had ANY trouble in keeping up with their match or feeling overwhelmed. Gohan not only said no, but thought his dad was holding back quite a bit, to which Goku replies that he was "giving it his all". Gohan isn't just the strongest there. He, while suppressed, is VASTLY the strongest fighter there. The reason for the senzu bean you'll find out in time. Also love the reference to Madeline Kahn "Flames... on the side of my face..."
In all of Dragon Ball History,I still think Goku giving Perfect Cell a Senzu Bean is maybe the most controversial Character decision any individual character has ever made in this series history, next to maybe all of them deciding to not Kill Dr Gero after they were Warned about the coming Androids by Trunks.
I'd like to point out that out of everyone in the entire world that Goku could've suggested as his replacement, Mr Satan was the one person he could not nominate, since he'd already made an attempt and lost fair and square via ring-out.
Something I didn't mention on patreon is just HOW MANY times I watched this episode. While most episodes came out every few months, we would have to wait a full year before episode 60 would come out. The anticipation was insane, and I would keep watching 59 over and over while waiting. Sure, we got eradicate Christmas that December, but it would still be another 7 months before the fun episode would come out in 3 parts across 3 weeks.
If you're ever looking for something, don't forget there's also the Yu-gi-oh abridged series which inspired countless others including this one. Main VA is also the person who did Freeza in this series.
"It all seemed to be going that way and then... Goku?!" Yeah thats a real relatable feeling! I think thats how pretty everyone reacts the moment they get to that part XD
Cells speech while he's waiting on goku to fire his kameha attack is amazing. Bc he has goku's dna as his genetic structure he assumes he knows goku but goku did a complete 180 and blind sided manz. Trunks had a point. Vegetas speech was hilarious, only to be let extremely down.
Quick obvious easter egg, that end credit was a DBZA original, but that's Gohan's future wife. Since DBZA won't be covering the following arc, no harm in telling you.
So I'm sure you already know this, but Hercule's daughter at the end there is Videl. She's the one who later meets Gohan in high school and marries him after the Buu Saga (which was unfortunately not adapted into DBZA due to TFS ending the series). The scene wasn't in the original series as Videl wasn't even a character until the Buu Saga came around so this was a cute addition made by TFS.
I love how y'all two's reactions meshed SO perfectly with the characters'! Goku: "Hey, Cell! Senzu Bean!" Bethany: "NO!!" Krillin: "NO!!" Piccolo: "WHAT?!" Yamcha: "WHY?!" Ken: "WHAT?!"
That after credit scene with Mr. Satan's daughter, Videl (an anagram for "devil" btw), is Gohan's future wife. This isn't a spoiler, since DBZA never gets there, but a neat little call-forward
The reaction to the Senzu Bean scene was priceless. That genuine "no!" was amazing.

being as episode 60 is 3 parts, Its also the cherry on top of this series. You guys are gunna love it
When my friend was first introducing me to Dragon Ball Z and we got to the Senzu Bean part, that was literally my reaction too lol like " NO!
A few things you should know:
With the original series Goku doesn't just suggest Gohan is the strongest, but fixates on it.
10:40 cell calls goku "kakarot" because the vegeta cells in his body took over him
I don't know if you are aware of this. But the makers of DBZA mentioned you guys in their own commentary of the series. I thought it was really cool!
14:10 I love watching the surprise on your faces.
In all of Dragon Ball History,I still think Goku giving Perfect Cell a Senzu Bean is maybe the most controversial Character decision any individual character has ever made in this series history,
next to maybe all of them deciding to not Kill Dr Gero after they were Warned about the coming Androids by Trunks.
I'd like to point out that out of everyone in the entire world that Goku could've suggested as his replacement, Mr Satan was the one person he could not nominate, since he'd already made an attempt and lost fair and square via ring-out.
Piccolo can only regenerate so long as his head isn't damaged.

This is a adorable Foreshadowing
@14:18 I've never seen Bethany react so strongly before 😂😂😂
I love how y'all two's reactions meshed SO perfectly with the characters'!
Goku: "Hey, Cell! Senzu Bean!"
Bethany: "NO!!"
Krillin: "NO!!"
Piccolo: "WHAT?!"
Yamcha: "WHY?!"
Ken: "WHAT?!"
I need that "NO!" That's Bethany made as my new text tone. Genuine fear and anger in seeing Cell get that Senzu
I waited 59 episodes for your reaction to Goku giving Cell a Senzu bean. It was the Red Wedding of this series 🤣
There are animated shorts and a spinoff series by TFS. They're called DragonShortz and HFIL, respectively. Just note that HFIL is not done yet.
That after credit scene with Mr. Satan's daughter, Videl (an anagram for "devil" btw), is Gohan's future wife. This isn't a spoiler, since DBZA never gets there, but a neat little call-forward
Never forget people. 4 year old angry gohan was able to headbutt the air out of a full blown saiyans lungs
Satan's daughter's name is Videl. In the original series, she and Gohan get together after some superhero secret identity hijinks.
Episode 60 took nearly a full year to come out. Imagine sitting on that cliffhanger for a year
