I have the kit and funny thing is I have the same jeep even the same color gold and rims too but mine is a 2000 wj 4x4 i6 . The only issue I've had with the shocks is the new bolts they sent with the kit for the shocks would fit through the shock with the bushing but wouldn't fit my factory holes so I had to use my factory bold with them now I'm trying to figure out how to get the right size to stop the clicking when I hit bumps other than that good kit for the money
@Sarah Coleman Its been about 6 months and not a single issue. A lot of people talk crap about Rough Country and I have not seen a single issue. When you buy the kit I would highly recommend getting a new steering stabilizer because the one you have stock is not going to handle the bigger tires. another thing is on the front stud bushing make sure you tighten them correctly and to spec. When I installed them I just tightened them down and ended up having to replace them because I over squished the bushing and it caused it to crack.
Nice. I have a very similar set up. Black Limited 4.7L with Quadratrac II AWD, the same Walmart offroad lights on the roofrack. 2" BB, 31x10.5x15"s white letters out, with black American Racing Ventura's 15x8. Yellow grille and towhooks. Haven't taken it offroad yet.
i put the same kit on my 03 wj . it's an only europe 2.7 diesel overland. i put 31.5" tires, no problem with the fitting. but..the ride on city roads is very bumpy!! i understand that it is a solid axle vehicle but i feel quite dissapointed with the ride quality. i also put the 1" adcco rear sway bar to repkace the factory skinny one. great result but the sway bar bumps on the drivers rear rough country shock and it s making funny squiking noises. turns out that because of the lift the oem sway bar links are not long enough and that is the reason for the sway bar-shock friction! did anyone else came across with these results?
This is exactly what I'm trying to do, minus the shocks. Good call on the shock extenders though. I was wondering about if I could run the not so much "off-road" shocks I already have, with the lift, without g00ching anything up....
So with a 2 inch lift u don’t hav to change the stabilizer links to longer ones or worry about the driveshaft shortening up and what about the track bar do u hav to hav an adjustable track bar also? Or jus the shocks and the coil spacers is all u need to give it a 2 inch lift?
Question, did you remove the rocker panel cladding ? I have an 04 limited and want to install them I need to know if the drill holes for the moldings are round or oval. Three body shops turned me away because the fitting are oval. , but they look like they snap in. Thanks, Kurt.
The more your lift is the more likely you'll have to problem solve the death wobble. 2" should be ok. A new stabilizer, up graded track bars can help. Contributors to wobble can be old tie rod joins, unbalanced tires and even the axil angle or CV joints. The list goes on. Talk to the company's techs before you choose. I think great tech service in problem solving will get you out in your lifted WJ sooner.
hey bro i have a grand cherokee 1994 and i want to know if i can put 17" rubicon rimps there are the stock rimps with the original tires and aslo i have 2 " leveling kit u think that would be enough??
i seen on the rough country website that that kit DOES NOT fit the 4wd all time model... i have a 1999 v8 limited i have a 4wd all time and neutral and low 4; other than that it runs 4wd alll time with overdrive.. im wondering what is so different that this RC kit doesnt work with it is because of the weight of the v8 limited has? if it is id like to see what other options i have. already have some rancho shocks ready to go with budget boost and I dont want to have something I cant use; dont plan to ride through mountains as I live in the south; i can install steer stabilizers if i need to but i heard its not needed for everything under a 3 inch lift' help me out brother jeep brotha
With the AWD model, if your front driveline has CV joints instead of Universal joints, no go on the lift. IF your front driveline has Universal joints and NOT Constant Velocity joints, it's a go on the lift. I have a '01 AWD Limited with the universe joint driveline. I've done the research.
Rough Country recommends 245/75-16's but I read up in some forums and some people can run 265/70's with some trimming to the bumper and wheel spacers. But i played it safe and ran 245/75's, and I have absolutely no rubbing even at full flex.
Ryan Vincent it does because the stock setup is limited by bump stops and shock extension, the bump stops are typically untouched when doing a spacer so you pick up a little travel
ive been in market for shocks and best budget i seen so far is the rancho 5000 i guess.. but sears usually has a special that you buy the shocks they install for fre; usually 52 bcks but its 30 per shock and sears qupted 20 bucks per SHOCK! i could do it myself for that amount i just dont have the shop and tools to do it; i wanted the bilstein 5100 with the motto of buy once; cry once. but that is 100+ per shock;- im all about the budget boost cuz im not rock crawling in it; i can at least do the steering stabilizers myself if need be
I have the same Jeep but 2wd, just curious if yours is the same, if so then I will be buying this or if you have info about if it even matters that'd be great. Also if you could let me know where you got your exhaust from and details I'd really be appreciative man, thanks
I have the same model Jeep and I was looking on the Rough Country site. It said the lift kit will not fit all wheel drive models. Is yours Quadra-drive II? If so, have you had any problems?
I have a Selec-Trac so im not completely sure but I believe it will work on the Quadras too, just read up in the forums and they should help you out some. I know a guy who ran this kit on his 2wd WJ and didn't run into any problems. The only reason that rough country said it wont fit on AWD is probably because they built it around the selec-trac platform. But it should still go on without any problems.
On 2005-2010 wk Grands with Quadra drive they automatically come with air ride suspension. Maybe they were talking about those. The WJ Quadra drive I think have cv joint drive shafts. That might be why they're not recommended. But, people use this on the awd.
i guess ( drunk) wondering why te RC lift lit doesnt fit my limited v8; it says it doesnt but if watched countless other videos of ppl putting budget boost on wj here
Check your front track bar mounting hole on the frame side. If that hole has worn bigger than it should be, then it will allow the axle to move side to side under the vehicle, making it death wobble. It's the most common cause of death wobble.
wasted money. worst suspension for wj. absolutely zero on road comfort. just save more money and go for an old man emu lift kit. that s my personal experience from my wj.
I got the 4 inch suspension lift for my 98 zj. Absolutely love it, rough country really is the best.

ive have my polys for a year with now issues poly is actually better then the metal ones. they also don't make the clunking noise the metal ones make.

Alex Lopez yo any rub ?
Alex Lopez did it hurt anything with the AWD ?
i put the same kit on my 03 wj . it's an only europe 2.7 diesel overland.

I just put new coil springs on my 2002 grand Cherokee with the budget boost do I need taller shocks?
This is exactly what I'm trying to do, minus the shocks. Good call on the shock extenders though. I was wondering about if I could run the not so much "off-road" shocks I already have, with the lift, without g00ching anything up....

3:30 "It takes that soccer mom look out"😂😂😭😭
Aye man , I'm glad I was able to find your vid on this! I ordered mine and I can't wait to put it on! Great vid too!
Have you had any issues with your front drive shaft?
Question, did you remove the rocker panel cladding ? I have an 04 limited and want to install them I need to know if the drill holes for the moldings are round or oval. Three body shops turned me away because the fitting are oval. , but they look like they snap in. Thanks, Kurt.
what size tires were you able to run with this kit?
Any death wobble? I'm looking at getting this lift. And keep the stock tire size. Do you recommend a steering stabilizer still?
The more your lift is the more likely you'll have to problem solve the death wobble. 2" should be ok. A new stabilizer, up graded track bars can help. Contributors to wobble can be old tie rod joins, unbalanced tires and even the axil angle or CV joints. The list goes on. Talk to the company's techs before you choose. hey, im thinking of buying this kit, I have a 2000 WJ. you still haven't run into any problems with it?
And I love what you did with the rims just looks sick
nice jeep man. thinkin about doin the rough country on my 99
hey bro i have a grand cherokee 1994 and i want to know if i can put 17" rubicon rimps there are the stock rimps with the original tires and aslo i have 2 " leveling kit u think that would be enough??
Did you have to get an alignment after putting these in?
i seen on the rough country website that that kit DOES NOT fit the 4wd all time model... i have a 1999 v8 limited i have a 4wd all time and neutral and low 4; other than that it runs 4wd alll time with overdrive.. im wondering what is so different that this RC kit doesnt work with it is because of the weight of the v8 limited has? if it is id like to see what other options i have. already have some rancho shocks ready to go with budget boost and I dont want to have something I cant use; dont plan to ride through mountains as I live in the south; i can install steer stabilizers if i need to but i heard its not needed for everything under a 3 inch lift' help me out brother jeep brotha

What year is it
how much bigger tires can you run with that kit.looking to do same with my 04 wj

+Michael Stokes how much trimming did you need to make the 31x10.5s work?
Doesn't actually give ya more flex since it doesn't have lift coils.
Ryan Vincent it does because the stock setup is limited by bump stops and shock extension, the bump stops are typically untouched when doing a spacer so you pick up a little travel
What are the wheels? They look like stock but black..
have you tried running the stock shows with this lift? i have the same shocks and they are very bumpy for everyday driving
Hi.Have you had a lot of problems vith RC shoks ?
was it worth the model and labor
ive been in market for shocks and best budget i seen so far is the rancho 5000 i guess.. but sears usually has a special that you buy the shocks they install for fre; usually 52 bcks but its 30 per shock and sears qupted 20 bucks per SHOCK! i could do it myself for that amount i just dont have the shop and tools to do it; i wanted the bilstein 5100 with the motto of buy once; cry once. but that is 100+ per shock;- im all about the budget boost cuz im not rock crawling in it; i can at least do the steering stabilizers myself if need be
Did you do it yourself and if you did did you have to use a coil spring compresser
Did you have to trim your fenders at all to fit your tires? I'm thinking of doing the same lift to my WJ.
had any problems with death wobbles?
Any problems with transfer case?
Cost? Where did you purchase this from?
Did you have to do an alignment?
I have the same Jeep but 2wd, just curious if yours is the same, if so then I will be buying this or if you have info about if it even matters that'd be great. Also if you could let me know where you got your exhaust from and details I'd really be appreciative man, thanks
can you install this on a 2003 ,2wd jeep grand cherokee laredo
yes

What size are your tires ??
245/75/16's. He said it in the video.
what size tires will fit that
31's are recommended i think it fits 33's or 32's though
Powerline Rider wrong...245x75 are recommended. a 31x10.5 will fit with minor trimming.
couldn't get this kit for my WJ it doesn't work on the AWD models.
it dase work on all wheel drive .ive got them in my 01 jeep grand cherokee wj
wasted money. worst suspension for wj. absolutely zero on road comfort. just save more money and go for an old man emu lift kit. that s my personal experience from my wj.
Springs better?
are your shocks still on the road?
