Real
Thank you for being truthful, i’m just gonna buy myself a new case haha
Thank you for the honest review, I really appreciate that I now don't have to go through the frustration of trying it myself.
Thanks for saving me time! (Although I did spend a lot of time looking up ways to clean it then I found this video haha) off to buy a new case!
This guy deserves atleast a 100K subs when people give million subs to those people who fool them with non effective methods.
There's a method I've seen on electronics restoration videos for yellowed white plastic. There's a product used in hairdressing, which I believe to be some derivative of hydrogen peroxide... you immerse the item in the product (it's a liquid), and then either put it in the sun or under black lights. I believe the product is activated by UV light, hence the aforementioned. Unless the restoration vids are also lying, this method seems to work brilliantly to remove yellowing
Interesting! I’ll have to try that.
Thank you so much for this honest video. So many channels trying to rip off views out of us poor yellow casers. Commenting for the algorithm to give your channel a boost!
Thanks, I appreciate you! 🙏
Thank you very much :) Now I am surely buying a new case. Been debating all morning...
Glad I could help!
Why did you feel the need to add "iPhone or Android case" is beyond me, it's just a phone no matter what operating system it has 😂
But tbh people nowadays are wild, so maybe it wasn't so dumb as I thought 😂, and I love the video ❤❤
LMAOOO
The answer is SEO.
Some people might type "android case" instead of "phone case", for example. Essentially by adding both keywords to the title, he's optimising SEO.
And for the record, it's not necessarily that people are dumb. They just name things differently. If you don't know what an OS is because... I don't know, you like piano, gardening and cooking, and not tech. Then, whenever you hear "do you have an android", you might just start associating the entire slab of plastic, metal, and glass with the word "android" as opposed to just the OS.
When you think about it like, I'm sure it now makes a lot of sense why the title has "iPhone or Android case", it may not exactly have to do with iPhone cases being built of a different material or something.
TL;DR, you're thinking too narrow minded, and falsely calling people dumb. This type of thinking is a danger to society.
better search pop up’s
It's for better search purposes
its 2024 why havent we came up w better ways to make clear cases 😂 like cmon ppl we definitely have the brains , to remake all clear silicone cases & have them not turn yellow overtime . 😆😫😫
Because they want you to buy new ones
there does exist phone case brands that make clear phone cases that dont yellow, but theyre not as known and are more expensive or something
Correction it’s 2025…FRR 😅
Thanks, thumbnail giving a clue to the conclusion really helped pick video straight from google search🎉
I still remember that in 2019 i tried something on youtube and it really became brand new .. i can't remember what was that but it worked
Thank you for this, now I had the realization to stop buying/using clear cases hahaha
Glad I could help!
Great video. I did exactly the same and switched to a black case
I'm going to like the video just because you got me with the prank at 3:00
This was extremely helpful! Extremely!
Thank you for being honest 🙏
Tanks so much i rotate cases all year i just took out my next one and omg so many of them were yellow wtf! This saved my pocketbook and a whole argument with my husband!!!!
I laughed so hard when you took out the new phone case out of the water 😂
Thank you so much! This video was really insightful. And you really got me when you exchanged it with the new cellphone, that made me chuckle 😂 thank you
Glad it was helpful!
😢😢😢 you just burst my bubble. Thank you for sharing ❤
Man, you're the only one who is real!
thank you for the honest video, screw those fake videos
Thanks for this informative video...now I realise it's not dirty so washing won't do any good
I subbed you for the prank 😂 keep doing that its funny and your acting skills are also great 😂
Can they just make a clear case that doesn’t yellow 😂
Would be nice haha
Thank you so much for the honest video
Always!
Thank you so much for testing it out for us ❤❤
ive tried the hydrogen peroxide/uv light method and it works.
submerge your case in hydrogen peroxide and blast it with uv light for as long as it take.
i used a resin 3d printing cleaner and curing station, you could always use the sun as your uv light, but itll take longer.
I need proof haha
@@edcvibes it works 100% you can use peroxide hair lightener and uv nail drying lights which surprisingly most females have both
@@edcvibes you can check how peroxide even can whitening your skin after massive contact. just submerge yellowed plastic in something clear fully covered in peroxide and leave under the sun for couple of HOURS, not minutes. Pure chemistry, nothing magical
Actually that dark yellow color is pretty dope
This cleared all the myths about reversing yellowing of case.
Just buy new non-transparent cases
Thank You So Much, Sir.
You’re welcome!
The only way if u don’t want jelly phone case to be dirty is to change it after ur event .. that special phone case could not use every day is just once a day…need to keep swiping case after event/outing.. that’s how i keep it clean🙂
Thanks for wasting my time. Thanks to you, I got plenty of foam. The baking soda is foaming nicely, there are ten hundred million bubbles.
Shut up your wasting his time by even typing this comment
Thank you for saving my time!! :)
Had any of you tried diluted acid? I have tried it... nothing happened....sighing.
After the silicone is compromised I haven’t been able find anything to restore it
@@edcvibes hydrogen peroxide totally works it turns crystal clear like new, even 1 inch thick rubber from midi controllers i have done multiple times, you need q quite potent hydrogen peroxide tho and it's a regulated substance, the strongest legally available works fine tho.
now the important part is you need uv light to activate it and qctually quite some time, there is a little in sunlight, or you build a uv light station.
this works 100% but takes days depending on the type of rubber and thickness
dose hydrogen peroxide work like in restoring yellowed plastic. (retrobrighting)
No, unfortunately hydrogen peroxide doesn’t do anything
I have cyan case and the contact points where it touches my hand are yellowing. I suppose this because of the hand oils. Doesn’t look nice and it doesn’t get off.
Soak it with warm water with tie dye color of your choice. You can also do ombre. It will not turn clear, just have fun with the colors. 😊
Interesting, I’ll have to try that!
Thanks for being truthful ❤❤❤
What about that spray that makes yellow headlights clear again, though it only lasts for a few months?
That's a great idea, I'll try that in a future video
I'm curious how long it takes for them to yellow, is there any testing under like a UV lamp hours?
i'm just so puzzled how there's not ANY WAY to actually clean it. thanks for the video
Baking soda and lemon juice cancel out to form (mostly) water. Would have been a better test if you did them separately
That prank is gold :D
No I'm gonna paint it, paint some beautiful flowers 🌻😂
Haha that’s one way to do it
An honest vídeo. 😊
The yellowing is into the case not only on the surface. Soakings may need to be for 1 -3 days to get penetration?
Unfortunately once it’s turned yellow there is no way to recover it
0:18 no sir not all … some like Baseus Crystal Clear or Spigen cover never got Yellow in my experience
Doing another video soon where I’m testing several clear cases. Stay tuned if any truly stay clear
That’s why he said “typically” bro… 💀
thanks for debunking. And meanwhile they are clear case, with some material modification. I guess they changed something in the mixture to protect from UV degradation. And this covers never get yellow. Only negative, the material feels harder, but it's ok
Best video. 👌
Thank you for this video I tried all the stupid scamming crap on RUclips, you can not get that type for material clear again they make it from that material so you have to rebuy a new one around six to eight months later these phone cases no matter how clean you are go an awful colour…. Facts and this vid is facts, thanks again ❤️🙏
I was about to buy baking soda.. If u wouldn't have revealed that it was a prank 😂
Thanks for saving my ten bucks..
my mouse wheel went yellow, I can't buy a new mouse wheel gotta change my mouse 😂
Hey, My time didn't get wasted Lol. Thank you.
Bastard 😂😂😂😂
“Playing games on the toilet”- That describes my entire character
Hah Good thing I saw this vid before doing anything. Thanks a lot. 👏👏👏😸
Happy to help!
it helped me a lot thx
Sadly all clear cases made of a material called TPE are doomed to yellow, TPE is what most of those flexible cheaper clear cases are made of, it’s not silicone, as silicone cannot be that clear
There isn’t a way to remove the yellowing due to a chemical reaction that affects both sides of the case, it’s essentially forever bonded to your case, if you do want a clear case that doesn’t yellow, look into Polycarbonate cases, which are less flexible and feel like glass, but shouldn’t yellow
I started dying mine with food coloring in a zip lock bag, but it eventually fades back to the yellow after a few months
Does tpu turn yellow as bad as silicone? As far as I know, the only thing that won’t turn yellow is polycarbonate but that is considered hard plastic, so it can’t bend and allow you to take your phone in and out of it.
Everyone’s always looking for a clear case that doesn’t turn yellow. Let me know your thoughts on any.
I’ve tried some that say they’ll never yellow but unfortunately they still do. I think to have a crystal clear case you just have to be willing to buy a new one every couple of months
Ty dude
thnkyou
You deserve a lot man a lot than those RUclipsrs fooling is and wasting time... Rather than being truthful
OK, a new case it is then 😊
They don't even make cases for my phone anymore so how am I going to get a new one..
Yeah unfortunately that seems pretty common now. They aren’t releasing many new clear cases
Well it will clean it the joy or Dawn Joy may clean it. So UV light this was not done in the video to get it back
I'm sorry for anyone who watched this video only half way. If you experience failure, please come back and watch this video until the end. 😂
now make next video from phone black hard silicone case to white paint case... doest matter white matte, flurescent or metalic shining.
"Sorry i have to do it" 😂😂
You saved a lot of my time 😂
Haha, I kinda guessed that it's permanent once you said it's something on what is basically molecular level, like polymer bonds. But you did trick me for a second with that prank, dammit xP Anyways, I just got multiple clear cases for my current phone when I bought it bc that has seemed to be the smartest thing. Glad to know I was right. Also, I got them when the phone was new since I've never had the most popular phone model and it's been near impossible to find new cases after a year or so.
Ahh that's the prank and I thought it's work 😂 lemon juice and baking soda 😂😂
I always wash my silicone case after long time use just to make it clean from dust, oil and germs of course. hahaha
i was so hopeful on the clear case prank
I wish it could be made clear again. It's not only about money. The planet, it doesn't need any more plastic piling up in its surface. That's why I was really curious if I could contribute to less plastic pollution.
Awe dang it tried and nope they are still brownish yellow after 24 hours 😢😢😢
You haven’t try the toothpaste. H2o2 with uv light can turn it back on
I’ll try that
Your phone case is not made of silicone while it is made of PU (PolyUrethane) plastic.
There are clear cases nowadays that say their materials are non-yellowing due to some tech.
Unfortunately they will also yellow. The case I attempted to restore said it would never yellow…
@@edcvibes I figured as much. Good thing something in the tech still works such that the cases nowadays take much longer to yellow. It also helps that they're cheaper now.😂
Yep. Interestingly. The official apple clear case has had the most success. many people have told me it doesn’t yellow I haven’t tried it, though
People that are broke and can't buy a new one😭
Per quando hai comprato tutta sta roba fai prima a ricomprare la cover nuova.
With baking soda vineagar its not working
It would be fair if this video had >10k likes
It's so stupid that phone cases turn yellow like that. I bought a cute pink one off of casetify and the yellow/brown tint it developed looks so gross. I have a dark green one now to avoid the appearance of the degradation (if its a dark color I wont notice and it won't bother me lol). Was hoping to get a cute clear case with strawberries on it but honestly I wont now because I know there is nothing to prevent it from yellowing. :(
Yeah, I love clear cases but it’s not worth having to buy a new one every few months
Thanks for posting the truth
Yeah! I chose black case too. Mine has a screen-cover with pockets, so you can put an ID or any card.
Awesome choice!
my friend restored yellowed case using boiling water and baking soda for about 20-30 minutes. Maybe that will help someone
u got me @ 03:00 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it worth to try retrobright it.
Basically soak it in hydrogen peroxide and blasted it with uv.
I’ll try that!
Thank you! At long last, somebody who told the truth. Loved your prank btw, made me laugh.
It doesn't work.
Looks like you had new one show us.
Why they dont invent some material not yellowing?
It’s a plastics issue, happens to any clear plastic over time
@@edcvibes I get it
Sucks because clear cases look so great on phones. I hate random solid colored case
This is awesome! I got super excited until I realized you were pranking us LOL I have mine sitting in baking soda and vinegar now while I looked up and found your video. I realize it's a waste of time trying to salvage it LOL thank you for saving me countless hours when I should just A. leave it be or B. buy a new case Luckily I could care less about my iphone with its toxic 5G radiation and keep it as far from me as possible most often! I should now instead invest in a faraday cage ;-) God bless and have a great day!
Giving up on clear cases 😢
Unfortunately unless you want to replace them every couple of months…
I have seen people clearing old plastics, such as old gaming consoles, using a strong base (like H2O2) with ultra violet lights, and let it shine for one entire night.
Would you like to try that ?
White plastics yes but it isn’t as effective on clear silicone. I’d be willing to give it a shot though just to try everything :) thanks for the tip!
@@edcvibes it totally works on silicone and all kinds of rubber, jsut lots of time and proper hydrogen peroxide which is hard to get because it can be used for explosives
Thank you for being truthful, but I'm broke rn 😔
It still works to protect your phone, just not as clear as it once was haha
