Good job man. Career chef for over 30 years now and private chef now to relax. Best mark of any chef is using what you have to it's fullest potential and adapting to circumstances, and it seems you did that very well. I personally would have chopped the chicharrones (pork rinds) and kept them as crispy as possible and sprinkled them over the rice so you get a little crunch in every bite but it looked great. I would hire you lol.

At a glance from what I've seen of prisoners cooking in their cells, the heat is generated through electrical wires that are placed into a small bucket of water. I assume it requires at least two separate cables, and a power adapter/splitter to redirect individual wires from the main power source. I'm not 100% on the engineering, but the heat generated from the current running through the submerged wire is transferred to two aluminum cans by splitting the wire at one end and contacting the exposed wiring to each can. This transfers heat to the steel surface above, rendering it usable for cooking. There may be a device used to generate continuous voltage, like an electric kettle or similar. It's basically a super ghetto hotplate, lol.
@@psychedelaholicnah, they disassemble a water boiler and use the hot plate piece that usually heats up the water and stick it to the bottom of a thin metal shelf so the whole plate heats up like a flat top grill

Yeah, they do cook pork rinds. I've had them cooked in salsa verde. It's pretty good.
