I’m a bit biased because I’m a LSU fan but it’s been great seeing that man blossom into the quarterback he is now. He’s kept us in games this year. Geaux Tigers
@TheBlackScatPack I agree with you bro , it’s been hella great watching him grow, no doubt is already one of LSU greats regardless with heisman or not 🐅
One thing I noticed from him from last year to this is that he is more trusting of the wrs his arm and the play calls. He is an excellent example of what mental fortitude looks
As a LSU fan, I was not sold on him last year, with his affinity to leave the pocket and run prematurely instead of trusting his arm and receivers. To watch this young man grow to what he's doing now is amazing. Unfortunately, since the Les Miles left, except for some of the games in 2019, our defense which we used to be known for, has gone the way of the dodo, and is unable to help out when he can't produce more yards than an entire team by himself. I wish this dude nothing but success.
So why is Brian Kelly so horrible, it's only his second year at LSU. And to turn things around like he has after the way things were looking when Orgeron left, as an LSU fan, i'd have to say he's done a pretty damn good job of it so far.
Try telling LSU fans that Nix would be crushing everyone in passing stats if Oregon Coaches kept him in late into the 4th QTR against patsies and let him throw down field up by 40. Nix could have another 1200 yards passing and another 10-12 passing Touchdowns if he stayed in the games against Portland State, Hawaii, Utah, California, Colorado, Stanford and did what Jayden did 2 weeks ago. Nix played didn’t play the entire 2nd half against ASU. If he had gotten badly injured in garbage time, Kelly could’ve been fired.
@@jsurgee23 This is an incredibly flawed take, fueled by an all-too-myopic perspective. How about this: Runs and passes combined, Daniels finished the regular season with 462 touches while Nix finished with 448, which works out to about 1 less play per game. Yet somehow Daniels finished with almost 1,000 more yards than Nix did. The two kids got pretty much the exact same number of opportunities, Daniels just did more, and against a significantly stronger SoS (look it up). Here's another way to put it - you have to combine Oregon's starting QB AND Oregon's starting RB together to get the same yardage totals that Daniels put up alone. It's a no brainer who the best college football player is this year, the only thing we don't know is how many biased voters will ignore that criteria - the SOLE criteria for the award - and try to justify their own preferences.
@@Ellis_Hugh Tell me more about the “significantly” stronger sos. The PAC-12 had the best non-conference record this year against P-5 schools and overall. Also, the SEC has 3 teams with good defenses, the rest are average. Include those 2-3 games against patsies, Daniels didn’t face “significantly” more talented defenses than Nix did. Look it up. And I’ll have to look at the offensive snaps stats. Something doesn’t add up. Also, it absolutely matters in terms of QB stat production when a team is constantly ahead in games. Whether he is still playing or not. If Oregon is up up by 21 in the 3rd, you think with the touches Nix gets they’re going to need him to take the same chances he did in the 1st or 2nd QTR? And when you say touches, do you include those touches where Nix hands off to his running backs - Oregon has more than 1 RB btw. You conveniently used only Bucky when it came to “production totals” of touches. 3x more losses is the big one.
@@jsurgee23 You want more, sure - here's more... in addition to the relative SoS (which is easily looked up), I went ahead and looked up the ranking of the defenses that LSU and Oregon played this year. Oregon played only two teams ranked in the top 75 defenses, Utah at #16 and Oregon State at #36... by comparison LSU played TEN teams ranked in the top 75 defenses. Been supporting and interested in this man ever since I saw that Oregon game. I was a little worried because him cuz of the Arizona state situation, but I'm so happy for him and amazed at how he played this season. I think he deserves the Heisman and wish him the best in the pros.
His improved ability to go through progressions before blowing by everyone has made him the greatest QB of 2023. In addition, if he starts a bad game, he can fix it quickly. That's impressive to me!
If the Heisman is going to be given to the best player in College Football-it goes to LSU’s JAYDEN DANIELS….no question. No one has accomplished what he has, his stats are insane, he is a double threat QB, he carries the LSU team, he is a great Leader and amazing human being. He set a new. Illegal Football Record against Florida, has broken Joe Burrow Records, Broken SEC Records, and was SEC Player of the Week 4 times!! Daniels is the epitome of a Heisman Winner🏆
I didn't know he gutting out a foot injury his first season on campus during camp. I was rooting for him even at ASU. I told everyone this was going to happen. I comment everywhere he was going to have a great off-season and blossom this year!
The difference between 2022 and 2023 Jayden Daniels is ball placement. 2022 Daniels could not lead a receiver on his mid and deep balls as he would throw the ball short and could not hit a receiver in stride. 2023 Daniels does not have that issue, big credit to him getting that worked out.
It’s funny things have come full-circle. For years we had an incredible defense and horrendous QB play. Now we’ve had two Heisman-caliber QBs in the last five season with some atrocious defenses. This year’s secondary has to be the worst in school history.
Watching That Kid develop from a happy footed scrambler into a true dual threat with patience and mental maturity has been a treat. The man can drop a pint into a shot glass, and has become an elite passer. Congrats on the well deserved recognition.
Forgetting the absolute shootout that was the Ole Miss game at the Vaught? Tsk tsk. I'm a dyed in the wool Ole Miss fan, but one of my close friends invited me to the LSU-Florida game. First, I was fortunate enough to witness Daniels' Heisman game first hand. Second, stats do not do him justice. He is far better than the stat sheet says.
I’m so happy you brought of burrow in 2018, he was average at best, then 2019 he became the best qb and no 1 pick. Sometimes we forget it takes time to really develop as qb. Daniels would always show flashes but he’s put it all together now. He may not win the Heisman but he’s for sure gonna be a first round pick and hopefully go to a team that puts talent around him
That offense LSU ran also didn’t do Burrow any favors in 2018. Eventually, they started to let him sling it and run a more QB friendly offense instead of the power and under center staple that LSU had for a while over the last few games of that season. That’s when he really transformed.
Probably the most underrated player in CFB. Even LSU fans weren’t sold on him, as I recall they weren’t that thrilled about him returning this season, and even at the start of this season there were still some who wanted Nussmeyer.
Arizona State is my alma mater, being reminded of how good he was his first season with us compared to Year 3 really shows a couple things. The first being that once Herm made his own playbook, we were bad. He did absolutely nothing Year 1 and we thrived but his year three included things like not playing competitively (kneeling to end a half when we were down by a TD against UCLA), and then obviously eventually the recruiting scandals which was really the only thing Herm was brought in for and he even failed at that. When he transferred to LSU for what we thought was his last year I rooted hard against him because it seemed like a "ASU is a sinking ship that will sink my draft stock so I won't play here." The moment I heard he was staying in LSU for a second year instead of only using the one year to get SEC draft stock I turned around and have been hoping for him to succeed this year. It would be another testament to just how bad Herm Edwards was if Jayden wins the Heisman, so I'll even root for that even as someone that wants the end of the Pac-12 to be repped in that award.
I wish the Heisman was mostly devoted to statistics with a tiny bit of wiggle room for some intangibles like strength of schedule and team wins. But voting is all over the place and if I remember right, it’s not even taking in to account the last game of the season as back in 2015 I think? Derrick Henry beat out Cristian McCaffrey even tho McCaffrey had better stats and a monster game at the end that some voters didn’t even see. Anyway, I think Penix deserves it so far because he’s the only reason Washington is this successful, but Jayden is right there with him. I think Bo Nix has a great completion percentage and is very good but don’t you get the feeling that you could plug a couple different good guys into that spot and be as successful because Oregon has such a complete team. Not saying they wouldn’t lose a couple without Nix, he’s a really efficient field general, but his dink and dunk style doesn’t leap out at you…..Now cue all the Ducks fans to regale me with all the deep balls he’s thrown to Troy Franklin lol.
Daniels, due to strength of schedule 3rd nationally. LSU would be near the bottom of the SEC without Daniels. LSU has the worst defense I’ve ever seen. Daniels carry’s that team. That last game was the best I’ve ever seen from any quarterback, and I’ve seen a lot of them. Just my 2-cents worth ….
I agree with you. In a season where no one is having a historical season anywhere, Daniels is the closest thing to the dominant, record setting player this year. He should be the front runner for the Heisman and apart from his thin frame I think he could be a great NFL quarterback but I know everyone is going to look at his thin build and see injuries waiting to happen. I saw a video on the number of NFL quarterback injuries this season and over half of the starters and some backups have missed time this year.
I hated playing against Jayden. He was so hard to contain and gave Washington fits. I’d see some of his other games and see this skinny kid making everyone miss. I didn’t think he was a good passer but obviously I was wrong on that. Even though I’m rooting for Penix to win the Heisman, I totally understand if Daniels gets the award.
Patriots fan here, I would be happy AF if we draft him, im tired of seeing Mac Jones just give up and not extend plays and just accept sacks, Jayden Daniels doesn’t do that and I also like his throwing motion as it seems to allow him to generate more power in his throws than what it might seem, Belichick better not f this draft up because we’re 2-8 rn and need desperate help which will come in the draft next April.
Best QB to ever play this game. Who ever gets this guy is starting a Dynasty. Should be the 1st player taken. If not, someone has some explaining to do.
The nation is starting to see what everyone in the I.E already knew about J . Daniel's. This kid had a 5000 yards passing and 1500 yards rushing in one season. BTW Cajon is pronounced Ka-hone.
As a long time LSU fan. I can say that Daniels is one of the greats. Kelly has got to get his head and the right people to impact the defense though. DBU is dead at this point and I don't understand why. They have great talent and Perkins is one of the best in the nation. Has to be coaching. Get it together!!!
My pick is a toss up between Bo Nix and Jayden Daniels. If Daniels has a string game against TAMU, the nod goes to him. If Bo wins out and beats WA in the PAC 12 championship with a strong game, maybe the nod goes to him.
JayD5 always showed toughness. Those distractions did get the best of the 2021 team. If it wasn't for COVID, 2020 was looking up. The ASU could have been powerhouse this year. Such a disconnect. They totally shut down Pennix and the Washington offense. Compare Bo Nix and Jayden Daniels careers. Both had up and down. Switched conferences.
The thing that separates Daniels from the other top QB prospects is his performances against the upper echelon teams. He always seems to play his best against the heavyweights
Can you do a video on the rise of UNLV Football. They’ve been doing excellent this year with a local qb (from Las Vegas) and a new coaching staff. I know you did one last year, but this team is different.
Jayden wasn’t even in the conversation at the beginning of the season. The media were so focused on Marvin Harrison, Jr. and the PAC-12 (especially Caleb Williams getting that second award) that he snuck past them all and took it.
ASU letting his OC go after Daniels’ freshman year was a big mistake, the OC at ASU his sophomore and junior year was a disaster. That was a big mistake.
You said he was the best QB in college football but would still give the award to Michael Penix and he needs to “step it up”. Please make that make sense.
A lot of people are talking about JD's weight going to the n f l , when Randall Cunningham was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles he weighted 212 LBS. A good offensive line and a creative OC would be outstanding.
I knew he had talent once i went back and checked out his stats at ASU. I knew once he got comfortable with his surroundings he would play allot better which he did toward the middle of last season and after. And this season, kid just took/shifted it to a whole different level and is showed/showing everyone in the country, he is no joke.
Just ran into this video and was damn good. Didn't know he and Bryce Young were So Cal boys. Our depth level in sports is expensive and it's hard to keep up sometimes. Did want you to know he is from Cajun. He is from Cajon and you say the J like it's an H, because a lot of the cities out here have Spanish names.
It suck’s so bad because if his center doesn’t shit the bed in the second half Alabama game he is first in heisman and on his way to the sec championship but shit happens not a lsu fan too
While I’m picking JD5 to win the heisman (despite the 3 losses), I could understand the votes for nix & penix. Things could get interesting if Washington somehow beats Oregon twice to boost MP9s heisman chances. All three quarterbacks are known to be transfers that couldn’t see potential somewhere else & now are leading the top 3 explosive offenses in the country. My Pick for JD is still kind of a stretch because nix & penix are likely to face eachother again in the pac 12 championship.
Hiesman is a supposed to go the best individual player. As a Gator fan he is the best player in the country. If not for him LSU would be a 4-5 win team
After all those years under Les Miles when LSU couldnt develop a good QB, its been awesome to see Burrow and Daniels play. LSU is no longer the program that cant develop great QBs.
Jayden must be better at reading defenses and anticipatory throws. Rumor is he is a hard working young man and have no doubt he will be one of the better QBSs in the NFL. He would look great in NY as a Giant.
GOOD VID HESIMAN WINNER OFFICIALLY HOW THEY DID HIM IN ARIZONA ST. (TEAMMATES) HE SHOULD HAVE THANKED THEM FOR PUSHIN HIM TO WIN HEISMAN. GOD BLESS THIS YOUNG MAN
He's Brian Kelly's style of QB. The last one Coach Kelly had that was super similar in my opinion was Everett Golson who led Coach Kelly and Notre Dame to an undefeated regular season and to the championship game for the 2012 season. Coach Kelly's future challenge will be taking this type of player from his freshman year and keeping him as long as he can. It's a good thing that Jayden Daniels is a transfer, whose eligibility is all but expired now. Typically these elites take off on Coach Kelly and never reach their senior year with the program. I like Coach Kelly, but I really prefer a Dr. Tom Osborne style coach that develops rapport with the players.
If he had a more signature win maybe. Right now his best and only good win is beating Missouri. Which while great isnt like when say Johnny beat Alabama at Alabama
Can you imagine saying Jayden Daniel's is the best qb when there was a gentleman born named Penix jr 🤦. I like jayden and he is explosive runner and ball player but Penix Jr is levels and levels above in passing and playing QB
Honestly, if any of these 3 wins the Heisman they’ll be deserving of it, but at this moment I would take Daniels over any right now. Penix and Nix are both EXCELLENT. Nix played in the SEC (Auburn) and had his moments but was inconsistent. Even Penix had to get out of Indiana to reach his milestones which are VERY impressive.
Yet the bama qb gets all the press thr put the sec and he's a good qb but the in the same breed as Daniels. The lsu qb make holes the bama qb run thru big holes and even bama defense couldn't stop Daniels it took a illegal hit from bama to take him out of the game, yhe lsu qb is very dangerous
The only reason he ran so well against Florida was because their defense is trash. I’m a Florida fan myself and the mid offense disguises how bad the defense really is
He Left A Conference Where They Dont Play DEFENSE,The PAC 12 ,To Go To The Toughest Conference In Football ,The SEC.The Same Conference That BO NIX Ran Away From.
ive BEEN hollering since last summer that dude from USC is overrated and to watch out for jayden as a darkhorse. it makes me so happy to see him on the throne of single player college football. he is literally one of the top ten qbs in the past 50 years. why does no one else notice that USC is consistently overratted? its been that way since the bcs era save the reggie bush natty.the way he smiles and would not be denied the starting position
After FSU took LSU to the woodshed I kept hearing LSU is simply not a good team and the win does not mean much for FSU...is that not the case, anymore? Sorry, it's hard to keep up
Just check out Daniela vs top 50 defenses and Penix vs top 50 defenses. It's not even close. Penix had a game he won whwre he scored zero TDs. He had another game he won where he scored zero TDs and turned the ball over 3 times. Nix should be a distant 3rd though. He's only played one top 50 defenses all year. His numbers are inflated.
I want to upload 87 more times in 2023, what topic should I cover?
Not really fitting the trend of current college players but Amobi Okoye. Incredible story.

Needing a doctor's note to play high school football at 5'10" 137 is wild. That's a normal build
Had a pleasure of meeting him when I worked at chick fil a in Tempe he is a class act and he deserves all his praise
I go to the high school he went to so I hope he wins the heisman
Please do a Jimbo downfall video. Your coach downfall videos are the best and you don’t make them as much anymore.
My pick is a toss up between Bo Nix and Jayden Daniels. If Daniels has a string game against TAMU, the nod goes to him. If Bo wins out and beats WA in the PAC 12 championship with a strong game, maybe the nod goes to him.
Love this guys videos
Representing San Bernardino Ca, This kid is on another level I would love to have him lead my team 🏴☠️
I’m a Ga fan but give him the Heisman ! I would draft him above Caleb. That dude should scare DC I’m glad Ga don’t have to play him
Please Bill we need him to Be a Patriot!!!!
If he wins a heisman, and the next QB up becomes a top NCAA Qb, might have to start calling LSU, QBU
He is having one of the greatest seasons of all time. What a shame to waste all that talent with that garbage ass defense...
A lot of people are talking about JD's weight going to the n f l , when Randall Cunningham was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles he weighted 212 LBS. A good offensive line and a creative OC would be outstanding.
Remember none of us LSU fans saw any of this coming early last year.
I knew he had talent once i went back and checked out his stats at ASU. I knew once he got comfortable with his surroundings he would play allot better which he did toward the middle of last season and after. And this season, kid just took/shifted it to a whole different level and is showed/showing everyone in the country, he is no joke.
everybody went from not even wanting to put him in the heisman topic to meatriding now that he put up the stats😂
If he had no rushing yards you could still debate if he should win the heisman. Once you consider them as well it’s no contest.
It suck’s so bad because if his center doesn’t shit the bed in the second half Alabama game he is first in heisman and on his way to the sec championship but shit happens not a lsu fan too
Really sucks because Charles Turner has been really good at center this season
He is doing this in the SEC.. the toughest conference there is .
Great video, just one thing..... Cajon is pronounced more like "ka-hone" not Cajun
Thank you. JD5 deserves the 🏆 by a landslide and GEAUX TIGERS
I would love to see him go to MN Vikings. They are stacked with weapons, and starved for a mobile franchise QB.
Give this man the trophy
JD5 is the clear Heisman!
jayden beat my school in the cif ss championship 😭
Nice call
I remember him at ASU struggling to fit in he said
Yea when you know you won’t make the playoff, you just manufacture stats so you can win the trophy.
If he had a more signature win maybe. Right now his best and only good win is beating Missouri. Which while great isnt like when say Johnny beat Alabama at Alabama
"Get your weight up, get your hate up, paying them back when you're bigger"
Bro carried that whole team all year
Can you imagine saying Jayden Daniel's is the best qb when there was a gentleman born named Penix jr 🤦.
I’m a Florida fan myself and the mid offense disguises how bad the defense really is
Would love it if he’s a New York giant
His team has lost three games. He ain’t breaking college football. He is doing very well in the easy games.
Jayden Daniels!!
The G-men will take him because we need him right now..... Go G-men Hot dammmm it,.!!!!
JD For The Raiders! 🏴☠️
He Left A Conference Where They Dont Play DEFENSE,The PAC 12 ,To Go To The Toughest Conference In Football ,The SEC.The Same Conference That BO NIX Ran Away From.
He’s such a Viking
He's really good, but at crunch time he usually falls apart. Sad but true.
ive BEEN hollering since last summer that dude from USC is overrated and to watch out for jayden as a darkhorse. it makes me so happy to see him on the throne of single player college football. he is literally one of the top ten qbs in the past 50 years. why does no one else notice that USC is consistently overratted? its been that way since the bcs era save the reggie bush natty.the way he smiles and would not be denied the starting position
After FSU took LSU to the woodshed I kept hearing LSU is simply not a good team and the win does not mean much for FSU...is that not the case, anymore? Sorry, it's hard to keep up
When you play second tier competition anybody looks good, but then when you put them up against a real team they seem to be mediocre at best
Bro had another like 500 and 8tds after this video posted😭
#futureseahawk
Just check out Daniela vs top 50 defenses and Penix vs top 50 defenses. It's not even close. Penix had a game he won whwre he scored zero TDs. He had another game he won where he scored zero TDs and turned the ball over 3 times.
Nix should be a distant 3rd though. He's only played one top 50 defenses all year. His numbers are inflated.
im a Giants fan and i prefer Jayden over Caleb Williams and Drake Maye.
micheal penix wouldnt be undafeated playing bama Fsu Ole miss and Mizz and i doubt the stats would be da same heisman voters keep that in mind
...and all on the road, remember.
The high school is pronounced "Kuh-hone"
Great stats but 3 losses.. no Heisman
3 other QBs won the Heisman with 3 losses.
The one im looking at…
