- Опубликовано: 30 ноя 2019
- In this video, we are travelling to a lesser-known place on planet Earth, a remote valley in Pakistan, an area where the ancient group of Kalash lives. There are less than 4000 Kalash people left in the world, and we are going to celebrate and dance with them at their annual Kalash festival.

The Kalasha Valleys are valleys in Chitral District in northern Pakistan. The valleys are surrounded by the Hindu Kush mountain range. The inhabitants of the valley are the Kalash people, who have a unique culture, language and follow a form of ancient Hinduism.
They are not Hindu

There's this community in Assam, India called Kalita. I'm a Kalita myself. We were the first Aryans to ever come to the northeast of India and my ancestors were the first speakers of the assamese language ( the easternmost Indo-European language). While I was searching for some ancestry related topic of the Kalita community, I get to know that Assamese language shares some similarity with Kalasha language. Even the community names are quite similar Kalita & Kalasha. I'd really like someone to look further into it. Cheers !
I'm very interested and looking forward to learn more about the indo-Europeans.
@Ganjuri ganjuri yeah.... You are right....as we've been here for a long time, we definitely have intermixed with the local people (for over 2000 years). Yet some people have retained their original bloodline and they absolutely look European, I being a Kalita myself doesn't look European, people confuse me for Punjabi or Marwari. So yeah...for a community of people intermixing with people with different races will absolutely change their looks.
Klas people are not indo aryan but they are central asian like other tribes of Himalaya in j&k Himachal uttrakhand nepal. Klas in some Central asian language means people.

@@superbatman8416 No, I believe in Pakistan media. Small channels have also shown these stories. Even several international organisations have reported on it and the most important thing is that there is live video evidence available of forced conversions and even some prominent Hindus have talked about it. Sir, I fully agree with you that Pakistan MUST preserve this ethnicity of KALASH PEOPLE.
Well Pakistan has been in existence for over 74 years now and the Kalash are still there

I’m just watching Michael Palin visit the Kalash people in his Himalaya series. (The series is 19 years old now, and Michael has done a new travel series in Iraq at 79 years old last year!) and so glad these people are still around. I love their traditions and the colours they wear, and what beautiful countryside!
READ PLEASE, I am tired of people arguing that they are greeks, they are nor Greeks nor Albanians neither Bulgarians, they are just an indoeuropean people from the indo-aryan branch who preserved their indoeuropean culture and religion, also it seems that they did not mix a lot with the locals, just search it, DNA studies confirm that, also their language is indo-aryan not greek nor Albanian.
Obviously they have similar culture with the hellenic one because it is the same with ALL the indoeuropean cultures, their language is related to greek through the Indo-European connection.
Also there can be some influences from the greek kingdoms that settled there after Alexander the great but they are not of greek descent, we can be asure of that with the help of the DNA studies, those phenotypes are common In Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia and India.

They have customs from Ancient Greek kimdoms of Bactria . For this reason call themselves descendants of iskanad (Alexander the great) 🇬🇷
For anyone interested I can recommend an article called "The Kalash Genetic Isolate: Ancient Divergence, Drift, and Selection" , available online. Researchers found that the Kalash have maintained a population of less than 10,000 people for the last 20,000 years, and are likely descended from paleolithic Siberian hunter-gatherers. They found no evidence to support that they are descended from Alexander's Greeks, but of course Greek cultural influences are prevalent throughout much of the former Bactrian Kingdom.
