Good afternoon Annemarie 🎄 The chicken palace is looking great. Can you use some of that scrap wood for nesting boxes? Merry Christmas 🌟 from our house to yours ❤
I love the idea of the cedar shingles Annmarie. Aesthetically it would look lovely. Nothing is too good for the chickens of the dropped screw homestead. Lots of love and respect and a very Merry Christmas to you and your 4 legged crew. ❤️ You made 2024 very enjoyable following you along on your many many endeavors. You truly are a legend.
Hi, your Chicken coop is coming together..Nice job .I lived in a mobile home years ago I cut wooden pallets down & made window shutters. Its amazing what you can make from them...I agree with you to use up the wood you have in piles before buying more. The price of lumber is so pricey since...Covid hit... Enjoy your Christmas 🎄...
Annemarie you’re tougher than what you give yourself credit. The bazillion times you were up and down the ladder would’ve been hard for me. Merry Christmas dear girl.
Have you thought about using corroplast sheets for the sides and top part of the walls - they would close it in but still allow lots of light. I looked on-line and it appears you can get an 48" x 96" sheet for around $35 at Home Depot. Depending on the height of the triangular side walls, you might get the two sides out of one sheet, and another sheet to close in the front part under the overhang.
I am a bit leery of those sheets. I had some on the roof of my outdoor shower and our sideways hail destroyed the panels and several windows here. I may eventually replace the glass in the windows for the coop with plexiglass but its not really in my budget right now.
You are definitely making this way to easy how long in between going up & down the ladder 🤔... It really does look good 👍.. best therapy is being creative Collage of woods would be nice too.
❤😊Much Love from MO it's ALMOST TIME TO CELEBRATE JESUS BIRTHDAY!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS.. AND MERRY CHRISTmas to Everyone, Annmarie and ALL THE FURBABIES..😂❤
Would it have been easier for you to attach the bottom of the boards into place from the ground. And then position the ladder to reach a few boards to your left, a few in front of you, and a few to your right with only climbing the ladder only once for many boards? Then move the ladder once to repeat the process. I know its easier on my back & feet and legs. You did great!
❤Chicken Coop House is Looking like a Palace, Annmarie! 😊 I think the Shake is a GREAT IDEA & Using What You HAVE..NO COST! Why So Many Windows? For Yrs. Chicken Houses Never had a Window. ❤one would be OK if you figure out the side FROM WHERE YOUR WIND MOSTLY COMES.. 😊 Chickens don't spend their time inside except when you Train them to go in house for night.. they may go in to lay an egg but not stay. (See about a Sponsor for the automatic Chicken door.. if you have many lights outside the ROOSTER 🐓 may crow at ALL TIMES 😂.
You know, I think you are right about the windows. If I leave the pony wall open for ventilation and add one window so I can get natural light in, that may be enough ventilation.
Wow them chickens will be living the good life!!!
I hope so!

A cedar shake on the front would be cute too.
Your very thoughtful of waste. Great attribute.
I do have some plywood left over that I plan to use for nest boxes.
thanks! Just trying to do this as cheaply as possible!
