Unmistakably harmonies of America. Another great song with a beautiful melody and great instrumentation. Wonderful song. Saw them live 10 years ago. Still fantastic. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and PNCombie, another great memory. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
This was a great comeback song for America, released several years after their halcyon days. I, too, saw them in concert--they were superb! (Great pick, pncombies!)
I was listening to this song when it was released on radio and i loved it but I didn't know these guys were even still together, much less that they have played over 100 shows per year for over 50 years. That is simply incredible! Keep it goin' guys! Great reaction Harri. 👍
The reason America is so great is because you still have an opportunity But these days when prices are through the roof It can make a trucker go homeless
40 years since this was released. 🎂 Big hit. America did not write this: outside writers presented a demo. America liked it. 👍 I heard a recent live version. The singing is still on point! 😃 RIP Willie Leacox, passed away this year, drummer in the touring band. He played with America for 40+ years.
America and Christopher Cross collaborated quite often - Performing live. The well documented performance in Chicago about a decade ago is a case in point. They played Horse With No Name to huge audience approval. They also cut a medley with Christopher Cross (and Michael Mcdonald) playing Ride Like The Wind and America playing The Border. Just a perfect pairing of 2 songs and great talent all around.
Just about every year they come to Humphrey’s By The Bay here in San Diego. I know I’m being prejudiced but it’s one of the best venues to see a band like this. It sits on the bay, so lucky boaters can anchor up close and watch the show. The ambiance is wonderful. I’ve seen them several times over the years. One of my favorite groups.
"You Can Do Magic" is a song by singer-songwriter Russ Ballard that was recorded as a 1982 single by folk rock duo America from their album View from the Ground. Producer Russ Ballard
Hi, Harri ... Great reaction, as always ... or MAGICAL, if you will. I don't know if anyone else answered your question, but this one was released on July 6th, 1982 and hit #8 in October of that same year (1982).
THESE GUYS WERE GREAT HARRI OF COURSE BUT YOU'VE SAID THAT ( CSN ) CROSBY, STILLS, NASH IS LIKE DIAMONDS AND RUBY'S IN YOUR EARS!😊 MARRAKESH EXPRESS, TEACH YOUR CHILDREN, SEE THE CHANGES, WASTED ON THE WAY 😊 WELL THERE'S SOME ANYWAY
I love this group. I could not even tell you how many times I have listened to "Sister Golden Hair" (my absolute favorite) over the years. I want to say it's close to 6 figures, but I'm probably slightly exaggerating 😂.
Been a fan since Sister Golden Hair way back. Saw them live a few times and always a great show. Love the harmonies. I just never get tired of listening to their music. Thanks for posting Harri✌️❤️🎵
I love America!!! I saw them twice in concert (clean and crisp live just like the albums) and have about every release of theirs. This is a top notch pick by our good friend Pncombies. Superb!!! Thank you.Harri, you are spot on with this reaction.
Vevo I believe pay the artists involved for each play so yeah, they will. I've seen some of Alan Jackson's stuff get through. Best to check them for the number of plays and then find another performance.
This is a great song. It, is very catchy, I remember dancing and singing along with this one. Fun days from a great group. Great reaction Harri!! Very good video.
Another great band I grew up with. Love their folk rock sound. They had so many great hits in the 70's-80's such as "Sandman", "Right Before Your Eyes", "I Need You", "Ventura Highway", “Muskrat Love”, "Lonely People", "Sister Golden Hair", "Only In Your Heart", "Woman Tonight", "The Border" etc.
Great Reaction HarriBest! America was my first concert! I think Sister Golden Hair was one of their most popular songs but all of their songs were just great! I believe it was 1978 and I think Poco was the other group! I’m from a little town Brady in Texas but we had to go to Abilene!🙏🏻
This is my personal favorite America song. First one of theirs I had ever heard. I have no idea what this video is though. Weird. LOL We see a lyric video, and it's absolutely nothing to do with the real song. (as far as the pictures go)
When I requested my songs for this month, Rod, I included the original video of "You Can Do Magic". I also saw this one when I was looking for a video of it with over 200K views, but I wanted Harri to actually see the band members as they looked in '82, despite their lip syncing. Apparently, it was blocked - as i thought it might be - and he shared this one which had over 21 million views.
@@pncombies I thought it might be something like that, because I remember you saying something about not being sure what we were seeing. (Something like that). It's cool. It's just a weird one that we saw, LOL, because the visuals had NOTHING to do with anything lol. It honestly wasn't meant to be a complaint. I LOVE your channel.

When I suggested this song on our members page, I pasted the link to the original video with it's millions of likes. The vid we're watching is one that Harri chose as the original was obviously blocked for us to see. It appears, though, that Harri IS watching the vid from the link posted.
America is a great band with amazing tunes. Question: why does Jerry sound like a quacking duck in the live versions of this song. The album version sounds fantastic. Is it a medical problem? Stroke??
My favourite America song.
The best pop-top rock love song ever made
I love America! This one has always been a winner.
Great band with some of the best harmonies I've ever heard, one of the best groups of the 70s.still touring.
I really appreciate your quiet joy at discovering music I've loved all my life!
Like the other guy...my wife and I saw them in Ohio in 1976...we are going to see them next week on the the 16 of March!💯
I was truly brought up in the greatest music generation!! 🎶 Thank you America!!! 😊
70 s 80s some sixty's best music of all time
This song came out in 1982, I was 25-26 years old & I had been listening to America since 1971!!
This was a major departure from their early work but it holds up well! Cool track!
Great reaction to an old classic. It's a real vibe. True acoustic candy!
Here's to The 70's❤
Right on! This gem was released in '82!
That's insane!! 100 shows a year?! 50 years straight!!! ?? Lol no way!!!! Luv this song!! 💓
Saw them 5 times in Paris when i was young, love them

Cosmo - Thank you, brother!
@@pncombies There wasn't any other videos...lol? J/K ~Great song.
Thanks for this!
I love America. Have watched the music video to this song many times. "Horse With No Name" I love but this song "You Can Do Magic" is my favorite.

The song was written by Russ Ballard who wrote quite a few hit songs. He was also the lead singer in the band Argent.
Thanks 😊

Great Choice PNCombies. I love just about anything America does. Saw them years ago and we won a Lifesize poster signed by them. Cool. 👍🙃🕊️🔥🇺🇦🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦🤴

He was, among lots of other things, the lead singer and guitarist in the band Argent. Talented guy.
I recall spinning his single "On The Rebound" on the radio station. Unfortunately, it only reached #58 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Dewey Bunell, Dan Peek and Gerry Buckley. Three makes a trio
@@personalcheeses8073 Dan Peek was out of the band by 1982 when this was released
I'd have to say " I need you " is one of my favourite songs 🎵 and Sister Golden Hair

My fav song from them. There's a song by Ian Gomm called Hold On that may catch your interest with acoustic guitar, sax and good harmonies.
I love this song. It's such a great song.

The song is great, but whoever made this video...It sucks. This video is not sanctioned by "America."
