Still so crazy to think this damn Bear who was made based off criticisms of another damn game is unironically one of if not the most iconic character to be birthed from the last decade.
@@sweaterweatherladyi feel like we can safely say he was one of the most iconic of this century. There is gonna be more but he is one of them. He influenced the mascot horror games (not really well but he did), he made fnaf memes which can often be funny and popular outside of the franchise itself, he influenced cosplayers (mostly looking at daregularsauce and all those other fnsf cosplayer tryhards) and he influenced the world itself. These days theres no way a kid with internet access doesnt atleast recognize the name or design of "Freddy Fazbear", its like 1 out of 10 kids that wouldnt know freddy which is honestly proving how popular he is.
Sock wasn’t trying to create a legitimate franchise mascot, he was trying to create a horror monster that was replicating children’s mascots, that was uncanny in such a unique way that he became iconic. It’s nuts how perfect Freddy is, but it’s even more nuts that he wasn’t TRYING to be perfect. Probably.
I remember when FNAF was still new, I was terrified of the series. I think it was because of the merch that someone had. I just didn’t want to be anywhere near it. I only got into FNAF because of MatPat’s theories.
In Australia, Freddy used to be everywhere. Even a couple of years ago, but I wasn’t into fnaf back then. Scott idk what australia did to you but we’re very sorry can we please have fnaf merch again
I was a little baby when FNaF came out (6 years old) and I grew up with it. I wouldn’t change it for the world, it’s a series I’ll always hold close to my heart
It’s really interesting to see a perspective from someone who was a child when fnaf came out, as most people talking about it were in their teens or early adulthood. I was 10 and I remember hearing about it but I wasn’t into gaming yet and was past the age of playground games
yes i was in kindergarten. i remember pretending to be chica with my friends on the playground and drawing the animatronics and i can confidently say fnaf raised me.
Honestly Freddy in general is a good character, and Glamrock Freddy just set that in stone. Glamrock Freddy just makes me feel so safe, like a comfort character. 😭
Finally someone giving attention to the main bear. It’s surprising just how much people overlook and ignore him. I mean I guess it makes sense given more important characters lore wise but c’mon man Freddy needs more love
I always wanted freddy to have a more important role in the story because if your going to call a game that has the name of said character in the title, then it would be about that character. And when Scott did the interview with dawko he did specifically say that Freddy was always going to be the main character.
Freddy is an all powerful character, and there is nothing you can do to stop him. He’s a villain in the game, but as an impact of modern society? Freddy Fazbear is a hero… Technically.
I didn't get to grow up with FNAF because I was already grown when the series came around, but as someone who grew up with Sonic the Hedgehog ((Sonic 06 came out when I was a junior in high school, that's how old I am, lol)), I can totally understand your guys' memories growing up with the series. I also would lipsynch Sonic songs in my head at my desk, or watch Let's Plays, and fill my room with Sonic Sonic Sonic- I get it. I get what that's like being a kid that's into a massively growing series. I get the hyperfixations. I get the excitement about seeing your favorite obscure characters getting merch. I get it. And I'm happy to see that this experience is universal across generations.
Two things about AR I think were worth mentioning, one Freddy actually speaks here. It's the first time main Freddy not Toy, Nightmare or Funtime but the OG scary bear. Secondly Frostbear, say what you will about his gameplay implementation but the fact they went out of their way to give him a distinct presentation from regular Freddy was neat.
9:57 when I was younger me and my friends thought fnaf was real. One night I spent the night at a friends house and we had a bonfire. We heard dogs barking and saw two red lights from that direction. These lights we’re probably just internet towers but we had it in our little minds that withered Bonnie was in the shop building. We also saw two white dots in the tree and thought that golden Freddy had come to collect our souls. We would also tell stories about Freddy fazbears. My friend told me that his friend told him that he got to go Freddy fazbears pizza and meet Bonnie.
For any character designers out there, if your target audience (mostly kids/ people who can’t draw) can draw your character and still have it look like said character then it’s a keeper.
I definitely think that at least before security breach freddy was a character that suffered the most from the franchises exponential growth both in terms of scale and scope he's the franchises mascot, THE big bad and the biggest threat of the first game but as more games came out and we got introduced to new antagonists as the story evolved, it was obvious there just wasn't a place for him anymore so he became relegated to playing second fiddle to everyone else, never again to take center stage I mean he was the tutorial character in special delivery for christs sake there's a lot I can say about Security Breach as a product but if there's one thing I can confidently say it did right, it was putting freddy fazbear back in the limelight that said I'd adore a game where he's the main and biggest threat, something that can hopefully recapture the "oh shit" moment of freddy moving off stage for the first time in night 3 in the first game
As a kid in 4th grade I remember some other kid shoving some badge of the fnaf 1 characters in my face scaring the shit out of me and it just haunted me as the designs freaked me out and I distinctly remember fearing Freddy fazbear would be in my closet so I was scared about that and would close it. Remember I was like 10 and in 4th grade
Fnaf 1 Freddy is my favourite animatronic in the entire series. Glamrock Freddy is my second favourite character in the entire series. Funtime Freddy is my favourite sister location character and probably my third favourite character in the whole series (close with glitchtrap)… Safe to say I really like this character. From the design being so iconic and passing the silhouette test beautifully for being recognisable, to being a serious threat in fnaf 1 with the best jumpscare by far and the biggest fear factor on the later nights compared to the others, getting 2 jumpscares and the game over screen too, he’s just so iconic. I really love the newer games have created these fun freddy personalities to Funtime Freddy and glamrock Freddy and to have him as a good guy helping you in security breach was just amazing. I cannot tell you how many times I rewatched the trailer where the character Gregory climbs into Freddy to hide from chica, it was incredible to see and I love all the mystery around him before the games release. I’m hoping the movie really gives Freddy a big focus and some great spooky scenes because he’s just such a good design.
honestly its so mind blowing how a small indie game made in 2014 as like just the last chance for success turned into such a big franchise, community, meme even and has such a massive and complex story AND AN OFFICIAL MOVIE in only 1 month. Im not even a long time fan i joined at like the help wanted release and yet i can say im very proud of everyone who has worked on this community.
Good video on the main man Freddy Fazbear himself! Glamrock Freddy and Funtime Freddy are easily my favorite Freddys in the series, I love them both so much!
I want to share a few fnaf childhood memories I had -I remember that as a child I had bows hanging up from the top bunk on ribbons and once in the middle of the night my brain thought it saw Freddy because of them -My first time playing fnaf was fnaf two on a friend’s phone and in the middle of the night while the friend slept I ended up waking them up the second Toy Bonnie moved -I fnaf rped in middle school at the playground and I played Mangle given Mangle has always been my favorite it was really fun I disappeared into the vents after biting someone at the end of the game and wrote how Mangle didn’t mean to bite a frontal lobe off and regretted it….I was so cringe now that I say it
That and it mean it is interesting to see Mangle do the bite since an aerial attack although I feel story-wise, Golden Freddy should've done it, I mean seeing that disembodied head come at you, feels like what that moment would've been especially since he's the one you shouldn't have killed so he'd have a deeper grudge still shown for William or at least, would think the nightguard is William
As like a 5 year old, i thought freddy and the gang were just random scary monsters. My parents would always try to keep me away from looking at images or media of fnaf because they thought i would be scared so i thought the game was like the definition of inappropriate. I also used to think that it dident take place at a pizzeria but just an endless zone with no exit at all Man, i miss when i was stupid
When I first learned about fnaf, I was in first grade and at a playdate and one of them was playing fnaf and Bonnie made me cry because 8 year old me was FLABBERGASTED When I got home, I was HOOKED and my parents were so done because I was terrified of it but still looked for it, and I found matpat through it and I was very attached to the story and didn’t TOUCH the games
so i had just graduated out of high school when FNAF first came out and have always had an interest with the story/lore. i also ended up working in childcare a year later, and it was wild when i started to notice some of the kids in afterschool care talking about FNAF, bcs all i could focus on was the inherently dark material and the juxtaposition of that knowledge and seeing kids play the game on the play structure like you described was so baffling. it very much has the same vibes as the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, a straight up horror franchise with an inherently dark background for the main villain (literal parallels with child murders) but it drew SUCH a huge amount of kids attention that there was endless amounts of Freddy Krueger toys and merchandise aimed at kids. it’d be really interesting to see a side by side comparison between the two Freddy’s and their affect on pop culture and the zeitgeist
Man back then in 2015 One of my friends show me it. I didn't know it was I watched it. I got Jump scare it was pretty good. I went back home. I type 5 nights at Freddy's. A pop-up multiplier Dawko and FusionZGamer I was a kid, it was pretty amazing. But After a while I stop watching It. But I went back watching it again in 2017 Watching FusionZGamer Dawko play fan made games
Omg my friends and I used to play fnaf irl at recess in 3rd grade. Since a lot of people were involved, we did fnaf 2. I would always be toy chica and I remember this one girl would always be balloon boy (probably because she wanted to do the callouts he does) It was the most fun thing at recess.
What makes me so happy about that is that Scott was just a poor guy who wanted to follow the carreer he liked. And he just simply succeeded. He wasnt an upper class man with contacts and the privilege of money. It almost makes me believe in american dream
i didnt have internet when fnaf came out so i had no idea it existed, my friends started talking about it nonstop so i acted liked i knew about it and eventually downloaded it in a pc class and got to night 4 my first try and then lost power at 5AM, freddy was my first jumpscare and then five minutes later my friend got golden freddy and seeing him is what got me completely attached to the series and its lore and cant drop it all these years later
Ah FNAF a franchise that has inspired multiple sequels, plushies, funko pops, songs, fan games, animations, books, and of course incalculable amounts of porn and yes, I took that from Cynical Reviews when he was talking about Scooby Doo in his review of Velma, but I think Freddy has surpassed Scooby with how much NSFW stuff is out there.
I remember being absolutely terrified of FNAF, like just seeing one of the animatronics would make me scared. I was especially scared of the puppet and I remember being scared that it could be in a closet in my aunts house. I still haven’t played a game because I hate jumpscares
We as a society can literally not look at a brown bear in a hat or hear a specific classical music piece and not think about him. It's like the "among us everywhere" meme but we don't even bother to acknowledge it. People will just see a bear in a top hat and start singing toreador march to themselves without a second thought.
I were in elementary school when fnaf first came out. Man it was so cool to talk with the boys about it. We were always talking about the characters and lore.
Huh, was honestly very surprised to find out how young you are... I was 17 in 2014 when fnaf 1 came out. Its wild to think one of the fnaf youtubers I watch was in first school in 2014....
YOOO WTF IS THAT FREDDY AT 5:25 XDD Genuinely scared me for a second XDD Edit: Also I was like 14 when FNAF came out, and it has been a part of my entire life lmao. 23 now and FNAF's still dear to me like it was yesterday.
I used to resent Freddy as a kid because I always lost power and he got me so instead of admitting I was bad at the game I told my friends I didn’t like him because he was fat. Now we chill tho
Yeah, the elementary school gane omg!!!! We played it with my brother and our 2 friends (two brothers), and I was in a little cottage we had in private garden we together like visited, and I was sitting in the cottage being the night guard, and the younger boy just went to jumpscare me , and I smacked the door in his face, and sort of traumatised his nose for a life time 😊
My first fnaf memory was like- 4th or 5th grade when it was electronic day, and you could bring ipads and stuff. One girl brought an ipod and we all huddled in a corner as she played one of the games, I can’t remember which game it was but we got so scared it was the first time any of us had cussed and the girl that brought the ipad ended up getting so scared she threw the phone at the wall and it made a hole 😭 And then my most recent memory is at my work, I work with kindergartners and one of them cane up to me with a drawing a Monty and asked me to help him spell Monty Gator.
This video gave me flashbacks to my brother and I laying on the floor of the living room with the family laptop watching fnaf content on RUclips when our dad wasn't home because he didn't want us watching youtube. Good times.
Story kinda similar to your Chuck E. Cheese one I was about 6 at the time and I had been invited to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and when I got there they were playing “the Freddy game” where you had to touch the foot of the Chucky animatronic and it would supposedly follow you home and everyone was so scared of it
My earliest experience with fnaf was i was at my friend's house and he had his friends over and they asked me if I have ever heard of five nights at Freddy's and I said and they made me play fnaf 1 and just like bulbasquirtle i just shut the doors and once Freddy came on screen once the power went out i flipped over the tablet and said THE PANDA IS COMING, THE PANDA IS COMING, THE PANDA IS COMING
9:30 I remember the kids talking about fnaf in 2nd grade like a month after in came out. I didn't play it till I was in 8th grade because I felt brave and old enough and fnaf is scary but not as scary as it could have been so I like that choice of mine been a fan since 2019
Before I ever even encountered fnaf I was already scared of chucke cheese I vaguely remember watching a old creepy pasta video about Chuck E. Cheese plus I never went near the animatronics when I was a kid so fnaf kinda spoke to me but maybe I’m only making this connection retrospectively
I made my greatest friend ever by asking if he played fnaf, now me and him are sophomores and working together on a fictional story, fnaf changed our lives.
FNAF is the main thing in my life. I was introduced to the series when my younger brother came back from his friends house and had played FNAF there. He said Five night at Freddys really fast and it sounded like he was saying five martial Freddys. He then encouraged my Mom to buy him a bunch of FNAF figurines. She then got my brother some FNAF plushies ( two from funko and some others from unknown companies ). Me and my brother would play games with the plushies we’re we would cook them food and put them to bed and stuff. Then for Christmas my Mom got us a FNAF game card for our Nintendo Switches. The game card could grant us access to the first 5 games. The first game I had played was Sister location with my first FNAF jumps are being to Funtime Freddy. I couldn’t get through the breaker room for a goddam year. Then I realised just how many FNAF characters there were. I wanted a plushie of all of them. I figured out that the main producer of these plushies was Funko. Unfortunately, Funko doesn’t have plushies of every character. And many of their plushies look a bit strange to say the least ( Freddy and Foxy are probably the best Funko plushies ). My Dad then taught me how to sew and I started my main interaction with the series. Making plush toys of FNAF characters. At first they were quite low quality but soon became extremely professional. I’m currently 12 years old and I’m better at making plushies than many adults I know. Around this time, everyone was all hyped up for Security Breach. I was quite annoyed because everyone was focused on this big new game while I was still finding my place in the fandom. I was quite hateful about Security Breach because of all the hype around release time and I was quite wrong. When I eventually played it, I loved it. I had learnt a valuable lesson about judgement. But then I continued making more and more FNAF plushies. Now I had hundreds of normal-sized FNAF plushies as well as some life sized ones of the Security Breach cast that are like 6 ft tall. I am now a Freddy expert. I think this franchise is absaloute perfection. And I think the FNAF movie is the best movie ever.
12:57 I wont blame you. When I was way younger, a friend of mine told me about "The purple guy" and how he was "The greatest killer in existence" (His words not mine) And since I didn't know jackshit about fnaf, I thought that the story was about a robot that would attack hummans and infect them with a virus that turned their skin purple and make them very aggresive.

Now, I'm watching my Favorite RUclips Vanossgaming playing 5 nights of Freddy's. It shocked me he actually played it.
Omg my friends and I used to play fnaf irl at recess in 3rd grade. Since a lot of people were involved, we did fnaf 2. I would always be toy chica and I remember this one girl would always be balloon boy (probably because she wanted to do the callouts he does)
It was the most fun thing at recess.
I just found out my Turtle Plush pic was in the video?? That’s awesome! Thanks for including it!
The Freddy Fazballs Himself!
I love how giant FNAF has become because it's even funnier when you're not part of the community. Like "that funny Bear Horror game got 3 movies?"
What makes me so happy about that is that Scott was just a poor guy who wanted to follow the carreer he liked. And he just simply succeeded. He wasnt an upper class man with contacts and the privilege of money. It almost makes me believe in american dream
Another great video! Excited to see the new plushie design. Your OCs are so stinkin' cute.
Imagine in an alternate universe, where instead of a animatronic bear we could have gotten a beaver animatronic, that’s 100% a reference to chipper
The bear was pretty locked in as the mascot
Foxy on the other hand
i didnt have internet when fnaf came out so i had no idea it existed, my friends started talking about it nonstop so i acted liked i knew about it and eventually downloaded it in a pc class and got to night 4 my first try and then lost power at 5AM, freddy was my first jumpscare and then five minutes later my friend got golden freddy and seeing him is what got me completely attached to the series and its lore and cant drop it all these years later
the childhood stories violently reminded me of the fact that i used to draw fnaf characters as ponies. i blocked that from my memory 😔
Freddy took over the world by stealing the krappy pappy secret formula
YALL DID FNAF GAMES ON THE PLAYGROUND??? i swear i was like THREE years late for fnaf + recess at MOST im sooo jealous 😭😭😭
It has eclipsed it
Umm guys is that Freddy Fazbear’s oink, oink, oink.🐻
*”Erm, guys? Is this Freddy Fazbear?”*
*har har har har har har har har har har*
I remember being absolutely terrified of FNAF, like just seeing one of the animatronics would make me scared. I was especially scared of the puppet and I remember being scared that it could be in a closet in my aunts house.
I still haven’t played a game because I hate jumpscares
Fun fact: My school announcement/news video today mentioned the Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie
what was the context? lol
@@MRSprings Entertainment news
YOOO WTF IS THAT FREDDY AT 5:25 XDD Genuinely scared me for a second XDD
Edit: Also I was like 14 when FNAF came out, and it has been a part of my entire life lmao. 23 now and FNAF's still dear to me like it was yesterday.
I used to resent Freddy as a kid because I always lost power and he got me so instead of admitting I was bad at the game I told my friends I didn’t like him because he was fat. Now we chill tho
9:11 yep, I was in 1st grade in 2015, you could not escape fnaf back in the day
Bro I just watched your Chica video, let me sleep!
Cheese one
I was about 6 at the time and I had been invited to a birthday party at Chuck E.
I didn't play it till I was in 8th grade because I felt brave and old enough and fnaf is scary but not as scary as it could have been so I like that choice of mine been a fan since 2019
11:47 QUINAMON!!! LESS GO INSANE CROSS OVER
Thanks for making a video about me!
I love your channel!! great video 10/10
Freddy is going to my house AR style (intentional omission of words is funny)
Freddy is not the face! ...you are.
Remember to smile, you are the face of Freddy Fazbear's pizza.
freddy fazbear aint taking over the world
hes taking over the universe
4:35 not the most important to the story BRUH HE IS THE FREDDY FAZBEAR THE MASCOT
Hearing someone mention sonic boom in 2023 is kind of surreal, everyone kind of forgot about it after 2017
Fredrick is better than Fredrick.
Also, wasn’t Sonic Boom Shattered Crystal was also released at that time too?
1:13 😮 aesthetic
My favorite fnaf character is Freddy Fazbear from fnaf 1
5:24 best fredrick fazerbearimgtom
1:14 bruh bro huh WHA-
Yeah bro has a whole merchandise room, it’s pretty cool.
I made my greatest friend ever by asking if he played fnaf, now me and him are sophomores and working together on a fictional story, fnaf changed our lives.
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyrics revolutionized the flying Knuckles genre of WiiU Videogames!
22:29 he looks like you showed him a picture of something spooky and he got so shocked he went pale
Everyday I regret that I thought I was too cool for fnaf when the first games came out and missed the early stages of the franchise
9:42 "mkay so... not that funny, but- it's a story"
9:43 "This may sound bad, I know, but there's really nothing to worry about"
Bro really made his wall the office wall ☠️
Me: Feeling Called out when he mentioned Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric coming out as that used to be my favourite game when I was 5😂
Fredrick Fazington Fazbear is more underated than fnaf 1 chica.
9:31 me and my bff used to pretend to be the animatronics and run around doing dumb stuff
13:04. I’ve stayed the night at a bears house before 😂
1:04 “I think I found a ghost, a real ghost.”
As soon as you pressed enter after typing FiveNightsatFreddy’s I got an ad.
