Hi All - As announced in this video (bit.ly/3eduRGS) I’ve launched a Career Consulting / Life Chatting “Service” where I’m meeting people virtually for 30 minute sessions. I’m continuing to make videos and answering every question I can in the comments as always and live streaming every Wednesday at 10pm EST, but this is a good opportunity if you’re in need of individually catered advice. THE 10 LESSONS 1. Don't take things personally. 2. If you set your priorities, you will make time for them. 3. Wake up early for undisturbed time. 4. You put many of your limits, mindset is key. 5. Be prepared for everything. 6. Reputation matters now more than ever. 7. No one cares about you as much as you care about yourself. 8. Both hard skills and soft skills 9. Life is pretty much determined, but believing so won't do you any good. 10. Pursue what you think you'll regret not pursuing. Letsss gooooo!!
Personally, my first year as an investment banking analyst was me learning the ropes of LBO's and financial models for The bank i work for ( Bank of America) and getting to learn the work flow... In my second year, (just before i was promoted to an associate level), I started to "call the shots".. Your past vids really helped me alot.
Love how the title makes you think that the video is about what most believe junior bankers learn in the first years and then the video is about what junior bankers actually get to learn in the first years.
Bryan: No-one cares about this RUclips channel more than I care about this RUclips channel. Me, with all the videos downloaded, Bryan wallpapers, posters, photocards and bookmarks: LIES
Hello Bryan! I'm a pretty new subscriber and I wanted to ask you if you could do a video on the more technical side of IB/PE/HF...what are the steps that you follow during a deal, what kind of maths skills you need to have (calculus/algebra/etc.) Also, what courses would you recommend for a job in the finance industry, I am taking the "fundamentals of quantitive modeling" and it seems really interesting and I would love to hear your opinion on this topic as well. Keep going with the RUclips channel! You are awesome!
hey bryan, not sure if this could be a standalone video but do you think you could address how big your resident advisor role played in the recruiting process? just ideas on how to craft your story.
Hey Brian! Lovin’ the channel, hope you get to that million soon :) Are you planning on doing the FIRE (retire early) route that a lot of bankers do, or are you just trying to do as much as you can in the world of banking with no care about retirement?
Hey Bryan, enjoyed this. An IB analyst version to a Jordan Peterson 12 rules for life. Any insight on getting an undergrad degree to career switch from healthcare to IB?
@@TheBryanJun i love how cool and chill and how you can say embarrassing humorous stuff and still keep ur respect! Seriously man appreciated! And your prefacing aint that bad ;)😂😅
@@TheBryanJun Honestly seems pretty nice balance to get some social interaction and an office workspace but sometimes roll out of bed and work from home

Just curious, do you have to disclose your youtube channel to your bank?
Yeah my colleagues enjoy it haha
I've been subbed for awhile, love the banking content but it'd also be awesome to see some other content.
This is something I'm thinking a lot about, will do

I personally think your hair looks cool! And yes, I do read the description lol
HAHA thanks
do you mind sharing what your gpa was when you graduated uni. I'm trying to ascertain my gpa goals
I think slightly above 3.8?
I also went to Washington and Lee and took professor Scott Hoover's class.
hey bryan,
not sure if this could be a standalone video but do you think you could address how big your resident advisor role played in the recruiting process? just ideas on how to craft your story.
my video on my resume talks about this in detail - it helped but wouldn't say was the center of the story

I go back and forth but retiring yesterday wouldve been nice
I read these Bryan haha, I would love to see videos that are not about banking! If you wan't to diversify, go for it!
Thanks so much, planning to experiment

Idk anyone personalyly that's made the switch - I'd recommend a MBA
Thank you for the feedback
Hey Bryan, new sub here! What percent of your time on the job is spent on Excel / modeling ?
Id say like 30% on excel
what age do you think is too old to start a career in investment bank
Probs 30ish is the cap for a mba associate but I've seen MD's come from non traditional backgrounds
Bro just a little suggestion, i would like to see content that is more compressed in like 7-8 minutes
Gotta pass that 10 minute mark for ad revenue tho
@@TheBryanJun oh!😂😂 still anyways, your content is great :)
Hahahah i do need to work on prefacing every sentence I say
@@TheBryanJun i love how cool and chill and how you can say embarrassing humorous stuff and still keep ur respect! Seriously man appreciated! And your prefacing aint that bad ;)😂😅
I personally enjoy the longer ones
Would you rather be in the office (assuming its safe) or WFH longer? Do you think this will change anything longer term?
Hm cliche answer but I think the hybrid we have rn aint bad
